  1. Have people seen the new training track being constructed at Leicester. Looks awesome. Can only be good for the future of Speedway.

  2. The spare tyre is one previously issued and marked and inspected by the machine examiner and it Must be used. Fuel is not supplied to the riders you have to buy your own

  3. Why haven't the BSPL taken the licence off Russell yet? Any serious association would have had the licence off him as soon as he joined Osbourne in making that statement about speedway not being viable at the Abbey & joining Swindon Mototorsport.

  4. To put it into perspective, you have Wolves top 3 from last year, plus Max Fricke and Richard Lawson. I really like the look of this team.

  5. I’m not privy to his or anyone else’s championship deals but the NDL pay rates at the club are not a big secret as most of the lads can’t keep a secret and talk openly about their deals in public, usually in the form of moans about who is getting more than them at other clubs! The club are not paying ‘top dollar’ but it’s my opinion they have been very sensible in the rates offered to ‘development’ riders and obviously the seven/eight concerned are happy with them too. Tigger and his family come across as very sensible and have been regulars at Redcar with the Gary Havelock connection in 2023 .

  6. There were exceptions, Tilehurst was full of 'teenyboppers' for (ahem) Gary Glitter in 1973.

  8. I notice in Poland and in the GP's that the fuel is centralised and all use the same.. (I presume fuel tanks are empty upon arrival? Or it might defeat the objective).. Why dont UK Speedway do it? Surely cheaper to buy in bulk rather than riders all paying indivdually, and it would mean less money paid out to riders to cover this cost they take on.. I seem to remember when I visited the pits a fair few moons ago, that it used to happen in the UK.. What stopped it?

  9. Here's the problem, you can't use past accounting as an argument for viability as all those businesses & events have moved on. You need future accounting from businesses & events that want to come in as the land is. As I said, Speedway needs help, you're flogging a dead horse going alone. Peterborough's situation isn't comparable to Coventry & Oxford as they have the multi-use of the facility. With the land vastness of the EoES, Peterborough cannot argue the viability of the stadium & 'fictional' accounting without other businesses on board. Or the other option is a simple one, find a multi millionaire to buy the land from EEAS

  10. I was tempted and seems the obvious choice but Douglas average away is far better than masters. Heat 13 away from would be stronger. Masters at 14 is almost a trump card. But either way its strong

  11. In the National league you can turn up with tyre fitted but has to be approved in the championship it is supplied by the home track already marked and is fitted there

  12. Rules change every 5 minutes but there was nothing to stop riders fitting a tyre at home (same manufacturer etc) getting it marked then taking the new tyre from the meeting and repeating the process. Most do fit tyres at track but not all like to scrabble around on top of a bin in the dirt etc. The whole fiasco with tyres is laughable enough anyways, there are enough available manufacturers worldwide, allow a bit of competition and finally drive the prices down not up.

  13. Billy Lellmann popped up on a Ipswich memories Facebook feed this morning, the year he briefly rode was 1990. I did a quick google to see what he scored however no information was listed. Google did bring me here hence a reply to a 6 year old topic!!

  14. I think its much better side than last year. Its arguably weaker than most at reserve but the top 5 is one of the strongest in the league. Fricke should have another strong season and has the 3rd best average in the league. Douglas and masters are both brilliant at leicester. Douglas is a far better rider now since his last stint at the club. Masters should benefit from riding at.either 2,3,4 or even 5. Lawson is solid and will probably partner fricke at 2. Becker is the the wild card but have heard nothing but good stuff about him. Stewart also has a great advantage of the riding order. He could be unorthodox and change it up every few meetings. I'd personally go for this line up 1. Fricke 2. Lawson 3. Becker 4. Masters. 5. Douglas.

  15. To me what's worse is the inconsistency, Pedersen rode on an average that was 12 years old. Woffinden, Lidsey, Kasprzak & Jakobsen kept the same averages. Janowski's was lowered, but Pawlicki & Milik's were increased.

  16. We only made the change because Marcin decided he needed to leave to prioritise his Polish club. No one wanted him to leave. Once he had left, we signed the best rider we could according to the riders available, which happened to be Vadim once it was established Patryk Wojdylo couldn’t be signed. The rules around 5 point averages were queried at the 2022 AGM, so everyone agreeing to the rules understood the ramifications. Maybe they thought it would never happen, but they agreed the rules. No one said the rule was stupid until it was used.

  17. Also, why is Wojdylo 5.00 and Lampart 6.00.... ?

  19. It actually suits Birmingham for their riders to be on these averages rather than Pawlicki (7.32), Milk (5.67) & Lampart (5.00) as it means if anyone is missing they'll be able to use stronger guests or r/r. Plus Z.Cook at reserve could be a real trump card. However I don't understand how they can increase the averages of Pawlicki & Milik, but decrease Janowski's, while Pedersen, Kasprzak & Woffinden returned on their old averages. Should rules not be consistent for all?
