  1. Press Release - Immediate Issue: 'Glasgow secure Cardiff food offer for fans' As the result of a fruitful business association secured by the Glasgow STARs supporters group with the TigerTiger bar/restaurant venue in the City, now every speedway fan in the country will be able to cash in on a discount offer being provided by the TigerTiger chain. The initial idea of STARs chairman Derek Smith, TigerTiger in Cardiff have agreed to run a special British GP promotion offering speedway fans a very impressive 25% dicount on all food orders over the weekend of Friday 29th June, Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July. This offer is only available at TigerTiger in Cardiff (The Friary, Greyfriars Road, Cardiff, CF10 3QB) pre-bookings can be made via 029 2039 1944 or online at www.tigertiger-cardiff.co.uk. Supporters must show their GP tickets in order to claim the discount. Restaurant manager Rachael Seymour is looking forward to welcoming speedway fans to TigerTiger: "We know that the annual GP event in the City is a fun day out for speedway fans from all over the UK and beyond, we wanted to help contribute to the enjoyment by inviting fans to come and experience some hospitality TigerTiger style."
  2. Great stuff from Bomber! Definitely the most entertaining rider on the night imo and like most I'm really pleased for him that he not only got to the final and claimed his place on the rostrum but deservedly so!
  3. I'm not on my own computer Sandie so cant look and see but have you tried putting in the rider number? Just a wee thought though as I say I cant look at the sheet just now!
  4. Marron, see http://www.speedwayworld.tv/en/news/a7292 Basically they've simplified it. The normal racepoints (3,2,1,0) from each semi are added to what riders have already scored. in the final, the riders get double points (6,4,2,0) added to their accumulated scores
  5. Slightly o/t but can any of you guys give me some gen on Josh Grajczonek? I've noticed his name creeping into quite a few reports from Oz this year but don't remember seeing it before and its the sort of name you would think you'd remember - is he a kid just breaking through?
  6. My excuse is I'm meant to to check you haven't written anything naughty. Mind you as I dont understand a word (in common with most Nevs posts lol) I wouldn't know if you had or not Different language these Wurzels speak ooh arr
  7. Seconded! Its easier to call your dad if some kind soul gives you a bell.....
  8. Do you mean this thread tarabanko? http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/ind...35entry510935
  9. Poor Steve hasn't had much luck lately. get well soon Steve
  10. PMSL Bossman, love it Think we can close this one now
  11. amazing - I didn't think that you got a blueyonder.co.uk connection if you 'lived in Sweden'
  12. SL Can I ask WHY you cancelled your rooms just now? I sent them a reasoned response to it asking for their confirmation that I would pay the original price, I expect them to say no and they will then get the nasty response. If I decide to cancel however (and I probably will for the reasons outlined below) I will NOT be doing so until the last possible minute. Childish - perhaps but I am damned if I am going to be party to their shocking marketing policy either directly by paying it or indirectly by having someone else pay it. I am fortunate in that I can't drink so for me booking accomodation outwith the area, say an hour or so's drive away, is only a minor inconvenience and for accomodation at half cost and the chance to shove two fingers up at Travel Inn for doing this its a minor inconvenience I am well prepared to put up with. I'd urge everyone cancelling, wether still going to the GP or not, to be as selfish as me to be honest As you know SL I didn't make it to the last 2 GP's. Roath used to be a decent travel inn though and you got to use all the facilities at the John Lloyd next door. Just shows how quickly a place can go downhill
  13. I kinda tend to agree partly with both sides of this arguement in bits tbh I am FULLY in favour of the ringleaders being named. I have been following it on Aussie sites and it could have pretty serious implications for solo speedway down under and at Gosford in particular. AS was stated... Leigh Adams, Adam Shields, Travis McGowan, Todd Wiltshire, Craig Watson, Chris Holder, Mark Jones and Jason Doyle as well as some others were willing to try so why should they be under suspicion of being one of four riders who caused the meeting to be called off. Some of the posts on Aussie sites have also stated that a rider actually threatened to sue an official for everything he had if the meeting went ahead and anyone had a fall that they perceived to be down to the conditions. In my book thats pretty serious stuff and its something that you dont want to see happening in speedway - it would become an easy way to get every meeting called off These guys ride in the UK so it has implications over hear Where I don't agree is the personal stuff creeping in. Had that been avoided then perhaps the likes of the speedway star might not have been so lilly livered and might have printed the names in this country too. Whatever personal feelings about individuals, they should have been left out of it as should their families.
  14. Hmmm interesting combination being sponsored by Ginsters and Gaviscon Well done Quiksilver, all the best
  15. Looking forward to this one! The weathers been a bit wet but forecast is good for tomorrow so the track should be at its best. Good luck to all the young lads riding and safe trip up - you'll find its a good road and not as far as many would have you believe!
  16. I believe it was to do with call offs although a couple of the guys were still there - Rickylee Beecrofts van certainly was! Its now been rescheduled for next Sunday after the Glasgow v Sheffield meeting - looking forward to it
  17. Its not been removed fentiger - there were FIVE Swindon WC topics and we were asked to merge them into one so if you look in there you will see its still on
  18. I have complaints about the U15's being included at Cardiff. These are quite simply: - 1. WHY so early? Okay you can see they couldn't be on immediately before the GP started but at least let them race at 6pm when more people will see them 2. WHY do people always trot out the 'its too soon' line when talking about promising youngsters? If we continue to wrap them in cotton wool then no blinkin wonder we are miles behind other countries these days. They were riding against riders of similar ability and EARNED their chance. As I say just a pity it wasn't an hour later. Well done to those who arranged it this year (at long last). More power to ya and I hope it becomes a regular event. Maybe next year we can also persuade Sky to show a couple of clips in the build up to show that the future is bright? I'm sure all the lads involved would have enjoyed it - I certainly hope they did!
  19. looks like your luck might be changing - Newports U-15 meeting has been postponed due to rain. Hope its rescheduled at a time you are back riding!
  20. if there is an 'official' tape material then that would suggest it is there by implication. I don't know the ins and outs but from his background would assume BriG is a lot more knowledgeable on it Mark Lemon went through the tapes at neck height at Glasgow and they broke - something I thought that would always happen. It disturbs me not only that this young lad has been put through this but that it could, from what has been said, also happen elsewhere if no remedial steps are taken to ensure ALL tracks tapes would snap under similar circumstances. Surely not too much to ask?
  21. It must be really frustrating for you guys Bri - you could almost accept it if it was an 'on track' injury, if he'd twisted an ankle or summat coming off the bike but this must be really hard to stomach. Hope that every track has been made aware of it and checks done to make sure that as far as humanly possible this can't happen again.
  22. OMG first time I've heard of it, looked at the pics and video clip and have to echo what everyone else says. Best wishes to Dan for a speedy recovery
  23. One of the best showmen certainly is - Shane Parker is left handed Oh I dunno - count me in. Lefties rule! Lets take over the universe....mwahhahahah I can write with both hands thanks to going to a country village school where they used to rap me over the knuckles for writing with my left .
  24. From http://www.british-speedway.co.uk/ "BRITISH youngsters Edward Kennett and Simon Stead will get a taste of the big-time... by taking their place as reserves at the FIM British Grand Prix next month. Both riders have been nominated by British boss Neil Middleditch to enjoy the magic of the Millennium Stadium on Saturday, June 11. Middleditch said: "It can only be a good experience to be there on the night, rubbing shoulders with the world's best.” I fully agree with Simon Stead getting one place but why Kennett?
  25. Oh oh there goes the neighbourhood nice to see you made it lucious one!
