  1. Must admit if the shoe was on the other foot and it was our promoter I would have expected the same statement as Louis made, I think its pretty fair and reasonable in the circumstances
  2. I think you are getting the words 'announcement' and 'miracle' mixed up! Did that actually go through? i remember them saying they were looking at getting Henning on a full transfer but dont remember confirmation. I half wondered if that was what they were going to say today! Love the idea of young Joe as a Glasgow assett
  3. I thought we'd grown out of this 'we have an important announcement' type of statement
  4. Its only fair it is pointed out they spoke with Phil about it and asked permission - they didn't just post TWK
  5. Im still curious as hell - I never knew he used to be Tyson Barber, dont know how that one missed me by. I used to watch out for results from Aus for the youngsters as well and dont remember seeing a 'Barber' then either Sheffield do have a bit of a history of being a bit naughty with their race cards though when they dont get their own way - I remember their listing for Eric Carillo (who? lol)
  6. Does for me . There ya go - proof positive that Paulco is loaded
  7. I dont think it should be banned but I feel you have a point and it should be restricted, EL riders riding NL last season was im o ludicrous and against the spirit of the NL There is no doubt that the doubling up between Nl and PL is at the moment certainly working for two young Brits Lewis Kerr and Joe Jacobs both of whom have started the season very well and seem to be growing in stature every race in both leagues. Chances are though that in their first season in the PL they will hit a lean spell and the NL will probably be invaluable to helping them cope when it happens. At the same time, as they improve the next wave NL riders are getting a chance to see what they have to aim at to move to the next step and most young riders thrive and improve from racing those just a little better who they can realistically challenge. I hope Lynn's fans do star/continue to back the NL racing - I still miss watching the Dale Devils
  8. Is he able to get track time after the meeting or through the week at all to work on it? I noticed both Joes and Harley out after the meeting
  9. Never saw you today Tsunami but I am disappointed in your post - surely you did mean to mention Stuart Robson in heat 13? That was top class, always a pleasure to watch
  10. I think what many people seem to miss is that our new Aussies are not the raw teenagers of previous years but young ambitious young guys who for whatever reason seem to have been overlooked by teams bringing over kids in the past - Joey and Harley are both in their early 20's and very hungry to grab a chance that some back home thought might have passed them by. They are also far more mature. For me, the promotions tactic for the new Aussies is a master stroke. Yes Joe is a youngster but mature beyond his years. I am still trying to figure out why all the premier league clubs weren't lining up at his front door on their knees asking for his signature given the reputation he had last season for his commitment and drive. Im glad they werent though from a selfish point of view!
  11. There is a lot to be said about moving with the times and clubs have to embrace twitter and facebook and any other developing form of media. The problem is that it now seems to be at the expense of other forms of communication and not as well as
  12. Thanks to my translator ^^^^ for his input And the impression lol
  13. So true. If you want anyone to succeed it has to be young JJ because he is striving for it. He is more professional than a lot of riders twice his age, superb attitude and approach. One of the few who really use their websites as well - its more or less updated within an hour or two of the meetings finishing. Sends out a good message to potential sponsors (on that if you look at his sponsors page on his website he even gives a rough breakdown of his costs. A number of his peers could learn a lot from him about attitude if you want to succeed imo I just hope he doesn't pick up Paulco's Paisley accent when he loses the Aussie one or I'll never understand him lol
  14. It would depend on the alterations and if it changed the actual 'measuring ' line which I dont believe it did (though I could be wrong!).
  15. ffs Paul haud yer wheesht or Berwick will try and claim him as an asset (think thats called lighting the blue touch paper and standing WELLLLL back! )
  16. I believe it was John McGillvray but he wont be too pleased at you thinking he was a Jambo! Just call him a Fifer next time you see him John's done centre green at Armadale a bit as well and the occasional fill in for Glasgow too. Sandie will be able to tell you all about him including some things he would rather she didnt lol
  17. I know you tried damn hard to get the club to tie in with them last year and assume your little paws have had some involvement in this so well done you for keeping at it and pushing it
  18. it sounds from the Swedish press release as if it is written into his contract the zero tolerance stance and subsequent recriminations. I doubt if that is written into his Poole contract and therefore they would, like it or not, be on very sticky ground if they did
  19. Perhaps its just that many people do not blindly think one way or another but are capable of taking every situation at its own merits and give credit where its due
  20. Its interesting that everyone concentrates on O'Malley and somehow Campton gets overlooked. There is no way you will ever get 100% success rate but to paint Glasgow as picking duds ALL the time is rather inaccurate.
  21. call me an idealist but I really dont get the argument based on 'who lives nearer' as opposed to 'who is better' Whilst James could have done a job as a 3 pointer for Glasgow all the indications are that Joe has the potential to do a better one all round and the promotion are to be congratulated on getting him to Glasgow. As for where he lives, he could live on Mars for all I care - he wants to ride for Glasgow and with his potential thats all the matters
