Better than Havvy? How many British and World under 21 champs and Grand Slams did Silver win compared to Havvy? Silver was also older than Havvy but chose to stay NL longer rather than step up into BL in 87 like Havvy. I agree Silver could and should have done better but was was too much of a show pony. I remember Ivan Mauger saying he wouldnt be a top class rider if he didnt tone down his riding style. Sadly he never did.

I see a few mentioned the electric hare, Daz Sumner on here. If you were only allowed to overtake on the inside could of been world class. Ha ha. Funnily enough though Daz was superb around Hackney where the outside line was so much quicker normally. Anyone know what happened to him once he retired?

I like the look of the Dry House team. Kennett will lose 1+ at least off his average but will still be a top no1 at PL level. All the rest have the potential to improve beyond Kennetts slight loss I reckon though.

What most Redcar fans think? You cant have spoken to many Lyons was a carpet beater early in the season until his average dropped then he became a world beater once the guest booking rolled in. Fact im afraid and I doubt you watched him at Redcar every week when he wasnt riding well! Out of tune? Trust me at least one of the management team gad their suspicions regards Lyons early season performances. Dont forget he started that season as PL number 1 so couldnt get guest bookings until his average dropped snd was then arguably Newcastles best rider!
