Well Matej won't be there so we need to get someone else. We either try and get Lindback or someone like that or go with Cook Nicholls Fricke Grazonek Worral X 2 and maybe Schlein or Bjerre??

Looks like there will be a few potential number 1 riders avoiding EL next year, time for the next generation to step up.... Craig Cook can be 8.5 rider next season definitely

Belle Vue National Stadium
jimmy jimmy replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
People stop going to watch a particular sport for a variety of reasons, promoters can't please everyone. However, crap facilities was a recurring theme, so hopefully a new stadium will cause a surge of interest to increase the crowd levels at BV significantly. Then it is up to the riders and the presentation to keep them coming back. -

Well it's started!! Still a huge amount of work to be done, but this is a big step forward. Leaving Kirky Lane is a big boost to the speedway here. Really think the Cradley promotion should get their councillors up to see what is happening. This is still a small stadium in Manchester but something similar would be a big stadium in Dudley. -

Well one of the main gripes on this forum are crap old stadia and poor presentation. As soon as one track actually does something about it, the doom merchants on here switch tack to another form if attack. Thankfully there are 2 million people in Greater Manchester who don't read the whinging crap of about 10 posters on this forum, and a proportion of whom might actually go and watch. Lets hope the promotion get the presentation right and give it some drama ( and 15 heats in 90 minutes or so) -

But it will be nice to watch them at a decent stadium for once. I also don't see any reason why a second GP can't be held there with a 15,000 capacity with temporary stands like the one at Vojens -

Bah humbug...... Well I would love to see the World Cup, a European championship round, world u21 final, etc at the new stadium, even if there is no second GP there ( although they have held GPs at a lot smaller venues). -

Why won't people on here see this as a good thing? It's just pathetic, if this works then there is a live case study for other tracks to follow and maybe improve on?? -

Maybe SCB should invite a few Coventry councillors up to see opening night, and Nigel Pearson bring some from Dudley too. Both clubs will need stadia of their own pretty soon too. -

The bigger picture here is simple. If a success can be made of this, then it can happen elsewhere, maybe Cradley, maybe Coventry, both of whom need or will need tracks. If this sport is to taken seriously, it needs big city teams, and for those to be successful. The national media won't cover Poole and Kings Lynn regularly as they don't know where those towns are. -
How are they going to put a team together for the PL? No riders I can think of going spare.

Tai Woffinden's Views On Single Night Racing In Uk
jimmy jimmy replied to clambo71's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Not enough people turn up to speedway to warrant the best riders in the world coming over. Christ, we can't even get the European speedway event here, it's pathetic. Lambert will do 3 years and then he will be gone too. When you see the support for tai at Cardiff last weekend, it is lamentable how bad the current UK set up is. -
Tai Woffinden's Views On Single Night Racing In Uk
jimmy jimmy replied to clambo71's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I am not even sure it has to be the same night, it just has to be one night per week. Then you have a chance of building a sustainable top league. I don't think the top guys care if it is Monday one week and Wednesday the next week. It is just knowing it isn't relentless racing for a tenth of what they get in Poland. -
Why are Onesport clowns? They seem to run a successful event and I wish a round was in this country.

The Difference In Attendances At Tracks

Tai Woffinden's rise to prominence has put an extra 7500 - 10000 on the GP gate. A crop of top UK rides will bring crowds back. -
That was the best Cardiff ever!! Anyone who says it is stagnating is so so wrong. The noise for Tai was amazing, and he delivered !!!!!
