Belle Vue V Leicester Friday 8th April.

The rumour was going round Owlerton tonight that this meeting had been called off, I thought it was a p!sstake but obviously its not, The weather looks ok in Manchester tomorrow and the track is supposed to have the best drainage in speedway so what is going on??? -
Swindon Robin's V Coventry Bees 31st March

I've seen Garrity 3 times this year for Sheffield, looks the same rider as last year for me, aggressive as ever. -
Sheffield V Leicester (ch) 24th March

Good meeting, Kyle and Dimitri looked good on debut and good workout for the rest of the team. Bizarre incident in Ht3 when the tapes didn't go up on the inside for a good 2 seconds after the outside and the ref let the race go, see the standard of refereeing hasn't improved over the winter. -
Don't think the PL sees much of that money

This is sad news for the sport. Feel sorry for the riders and supporters.

Leicester V Sheffield Ch 19/03 1pm
Tigerite replied to TMW's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The racing was pretty much the same as I remembered it 3 years ago when I last visited Leicester in the Premier League with gating and the first corner of utmost importance. Only a couple of passes without rider error with Howarth rounding Ulamek on bend 3 and 4 in heat 3 and Klindt rounding Bates on the backstraight in heat 9.Apart from Garrity and a couple of exceptions with Hally, we were completely outgated, I'm sure if we'd had Steady we'd have got more than 40. Crowd was very low, and there were a good few from Sheffield there. I guess £18 for a practice match on a Saturday lunchtime isn't the way to go. Anyway good workout for the Tigers before the important business starts at Scunny next weekend. -
Leicester V. Sheffield 19/03/16

I'm intending to go but like you, I'm not happy about having to pay £18 for what is a practice match, i'm sure plenty will be put off by that. Not really bothered about the result, the guys need some proper racing and come out injury free. -
Poole V Coventry Es First Leg 16/03/16

For what its worth, I think Garrity was on the must sign riders list for most Sheffield fans this season. He was absolutely brilliant for us last season and helped save our season after Steady got hurt. As regards the Elite League, I guess Jason could have done the easy thing and stayed in the comfort zone as a fast track rider but the kid wants to move on in the sport and you cannot fault him for that. -
Ipswich Vs Scunthorpe March 17th 7.30pm

I see Paco continuing where he left off at Sheffield last season. -
Josh Grajczonek

We are using Josh Grajczonek for Steady on Saturday. Can't say I'm amused about having to pay £18 for a challenge meeting, I'm sure that will put plenty off going.
-
Rule 8.1.2 of the 2016 SCB regs says 9 days for anyone over 20, so we need a guest for next Saturday at Leicester. Not the start we needed, Get Well Soon Steady !!!
-
I saw Kyle Howarth guest for Somerset against us at the OTA earlier last season and he was awesome that night, very happy to have him in our team especially as 3rd heat leader.
-
Agree they could really do with testing the track before any proper racing commences. I attended Redcar's first meeting vs Sheffield and the track was a nightmare and it was a miracle no one was seriously hurt and a terrible advert for speedway in front of a huge crowd.

Confirmed on Tigers Twitter that Eric Boocock and Marc Bates will be joint team managers this season. Big thanks to Jack Lee, who I thought did a great job last season with an injury ravaged team.

He'll be fine at Owlerton, watched a DVD from Sheffield v Workington 2013 recently and he wasn't afraid to ride up to the fence. Also saw him ride a brilliant meeting and passing riders for fun at Somerset last season which is a small version of Sheffield so he should be entertaining at Owlerton. As for other away tracks we'll wait and see.
