  1. It’s not such an odd thing - I remember Rob Tilbury being boooed and hated at Arena then he signed for us!!! Everyone loved him!! Sins against are often forgotten!
  2. No Lambert was just hiding behind excuses for his poor performance agree re Tai however shades of John Terry in full kit Branleur’ mode!
  3. Sadly it’s a vicious circle - if the riders misbehave then (some)fans will respond in kind if (some) fans misbehave so will riders!! repeat ad infinitum
  4. Bringing the sport into disrepute - it’s quite simple really - footballers get that all the time! County FA and the National FA have the power to levy heavy fines.
  5. I said this pre meeting - I felt Sheffield were weaker - Tobias would have been good for 11/12 points - Jack Holder the same - Tai maybe
  6. To be fair I remember Tatum helping Cradley win the Cup one year V's Wolves I was there to see it, he was really given a great reception by the Heathens fans. I think it was 89 - of course the year of Eriks accident. However I really can't recall IF he celebrated wildly or got a medal!
  7. Can you have imagined say Nielsen, Gundersen, Loram, Rickardson or any of those former World Champions doing that?
  8. Provided they commit for the entire season no - but I am against this end of season cash cow / playoff tourism that seems to have crept in of late!
  9. Enjoy it Spinny is it really 94 years and no top flight title win? (Well until now)
  10. Oh dear what a shame to see Let’s not forget Witches won the cup just what 2 weeks ago!
  11. It does but at the same time I am more happy to Harris than Lambert in that shot - at least Harris has dedicated a huge part of his career to the U.K. - we may joke about his guesting etc etc but he is far more deserving of that in my view!
  12. Sadly all tracks have them - witnessed it at Owlerton and Foxhall this year - Sheffield have their fair share of planks!
  13. My Nana is bigger than yours tho I did say it wasn’t over - one of my very good friends in a long time sheffield fan and he will be so pleased the Tigers have won and I am too despite the fact I probably just about wanted Ipswich to win it! pleased for a few of the Sheffield riders - Howarth for example a good honest guy who gives his all in the track, some of the others are more of an acquired taste and we do seem to have a new issue of playoff tourism to address in future maybe! I just hope Bert Bert had a smile on his face! let’s face it a few weeks ago we all expected BV to be in the finals and the Witches were out of it! regardless of all the rules / shizzle bad news on closures etc I have enjoyed my matches this season and hope we can have a decent 2024.
  14. Weather fine so far it is supposed to rain a bit this AM and again in the afternoon / evening - weather reports vary depending on which service you use however as for Bert Bert as my mate calls him I rather suspect his views will depend on the result!
  15. Ah! As Toyah Wilcox once sang - It’s a mythery oh it’s a mythery
  16. Can be done - 2 or 3 5-1s in the first five races and anything is possible. the question is is are Sheffield stronger with the guests or not - in my view Tobias and Tai are probably a stronger combo than Lambert and Harris so the Tigwrs are possibly a bit weaker! Harris could be the decider on his day we know how good he can be - he has the potential to score 12+ and has Pickering who is another rider I like very much. hoping the weather holds anyway - as I said on the Ipswich thread let’s just hope there are no bottom lips out from the losers whichever team it is!
  17. It depends on if Lamberts comments are based on reality or just his perception - the track wasn’t smooth particularly but as you say it was rideable - I saw a far worse crash (than anything last night) in the meeting vs Kings Lynn when Dan Thompson went through the airbag at the first turn and dislocated his shoulder or was it wrist and the track was still fine that night but much drier in my view he was just annoyed he hadn’t done better and it was easy to deflect blame into the track - I still don’t even get what the problem was in heat 15 - Doyle was off gate one was in the clear and rode out to the fence moving off the bend a standard move in 000s of races each year - Lambert for some reason thought he could possibly get by - once Doyle got himself in front Lambert never had a hope of making that move! If Doyle hadn’t made that move I’d have said he bottled it and I’d expect Lambert would do the same move himself if the roles were reversed.
  18. Pickering was a complete contrast however - Lambert whilst making perhaps some valid comments probably only one (or maybe two) about the heat 4 incident just came across so badly. Sadly for me he has blotted his copybook and the fact he keeps turning up for (mainly) playoff finals is somewhat infurating, he needs to commit to a full season next year! Does he say the same about the KL track he rides each week? (genuione question!) He is a very good rider - possibly not as good as he can be, or thinks he is yet! The greatest riders can ride all tracks which has often been the reason some top riders insist on riding in the UK its keeps the sharp.
