Kings Lynn Stars v Sheffield Tigers 19/08/21
LisaColette replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
"Tough night for everyone. Feel for the travelling @TigersSpeedway fans and everyone involved with K/L Speedway. We are united as a team in our belief the right decision was made. We look forward to returning when a restaging date is confirmed and the track is safe for racing." Simon Stead twitter -

Hmm, but I would have thought as a ref you would be more persuaded by the home team as they ride there every week. However the ref might already have an idea in their mind when the track is not fit to ride. Do you know who the ref was? -

See then it's the ref not the riders? -

Hume wouldn't have and I don't think Harris would either. Not sure how Nielsen feels about wet conditions. I'm guessing it was one of them 3 who were happy to do it. -

When isn't he pissed off! He should have got 2 riders from each team to agree to have some practice laps after he finished working on it. -

Well as you say if the ref already said it was off, not much point having a spin! -

Unless they want to test someone out for next season? But most riders on a near 9 point average will already have a club. Also might get a few more people in the gate if they changed it? Harsh on whoever makes way though. -
Nothing wrong with the track. Yes it was dusty from heats 1-10. Mainly because it was overcast all day and they were probably worried about it raining. Can you imagine if they watered it and we had a KL/Sheffield situation on our hands! They did get the water truck out in the break and was a lot better from H11 onwards, passing and everything! But seeing as you are all track experts maybe you can sort it out for next week?

Ipswich v Wolves. Today I think
LisaColette replied to Baldyman's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Oh, did he not leave Ipswich on good terms? Well he is my 10yo second fave rider behind Danny King and mainly because his name sounds like slime! I'm not even going to get in to explaining to her that they are on oppsing teams tonight, will leave it til she's been attending for a season first before i start confusing her with all the rules! But I will go for a Wolves win especially if Broc continues his form from last night. -

As much as I like Batch, I wouldn't really blame Sheffield for trying to get Chris Holder in the team. Hardly going to do any worse. Good move by Sheffield to put Batch at no2 tonight though, should get something in H8? Edit - also some riders when struggling want to quit the team, maybe Batch has asked to do that? But they wanted him to stay til Chris is ready...? I remember it happening with Josh G and Bjarne. Also Richie Worrall i think did have a convo with Matt once about if you want to replace me i understand (or words similar). But luckily Josh and Richie were convinced to stay and their form improved. Maybe that happened with Batch too but hasn't been able to sort it out. Which is weird considering his form is good for Kent. -
Redcar vs Poole 20/08/21
LisaColette replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
What is the track at Redcar like?? I mean Redcar are 4th in the table so must have a decent home record! Bearing on mind what you two have said i'll go for within 6 points either way -
Danyon Hume officially a Sheffield rider now. So only to decide whether to stick with Batch or not, which I think they will?

I see that Sheffield have finally signed Danyon Hume. About bloomin' time!! -
Near top of the table clash! Redcar have a strength in depth team, so we will have our work cut out in this one. Benjamin Basso's first meeting, so be interesting to see how he gets on.

Yes, I did mention Howarth but thought he might struggle riding at no1 but just checked and he top scored for Leicester at Poole, so might have been a good choice. But does he still live in Manchester and might have been too short notice? All work to the same team average. Scunthorpe have a decent team, just suffering from injuries and a missing rider.

I had a quick look and only Kennett and Kerr (they have both ridden for Poole in the past) that may have been chosen above. But Kennett has had a bad reaction to his covid jab and not sure if Kerr is riding abroad?? So on the face of it Nicol is a pretty decent guest and luckily he agreed as the rest would have been Howarth, Wells, Thomsen etc. Which are okay but would be tough for them at no1 as probably have 5 rides with the r/r as well.
