I remember when Pip Lamb beat him at Oxford Pip celebrated like he was World Champion. Joe being the great man he was acknowledged he'd been beaten by a young upstart having the ride of his life. Great memories saddened by the fact they're both disabled now.
I always use my pointy finger to count my chickens and I know which ones I've counted as I give them all names. Or the famous Glasgow tea that did Mick Poole in all those years ago
Sorry if this has been covered before but if Kus Redcar and Berwick agreed a 2yr loan when he signed for Berwick last season and his average had plummeted to 3ish and Redcar insisted on the 2015 loan fee even if Berwick didn't want to use him wouldn't that be an even bigger bunfight
Once the minefield of assessed average riders EU/NoneEU IMO the only way forward is that for team building and the much hated guesting system their assessed average is always used unless they attain a higher one due to performance in which case that takes priority. May be against EU rules but haven't the Poles got an average type system in place which makes Cookie a bad gamble.
You forgot to mention Kevin Wolbert Though being serious, like yourself I find it hard to criticise any rider as it takes some guts to do their job. Also in many cases it's wrong team/track at the wrong time.
Which would probably be forthcoming along with a higher level of league racing and maybe even an FIM event if the local council believed the facts and not the Nimbys lies.
