Nilsson rides div 2 in Poland for Start Gniezno. That is one of the problems you are going to have, by being a Sunday race-night, a lot of the type of riders people think we need will be racing in Poland, therefore ruling them out. The only way round it would, of course, switch back to a Monday, but we lose about 10%-15% of the crowd apparently when we run on an 'ordinary' Monday (not Bank Hols though). Also, on the 'big hitter' front, can Newcastle actually afford that type of rider on the crowds we are currently getting?

Peterborough V Newcastle - Tuesday 29th April

It could well be a hammering, but that won't stop me going down to support the team though. (*I'm not saying that is not the case with you, by the way!!). -

Loves riding Brough, but admits himself he doesn't normally score well round there. -

What has being in front of the Sky cameras got to do with it? Last season we went up to Berwick for the Sky meeting and had to bring in Adam McKinna for Ludde and we won! -

An iffy weather forecast for Saturday morning, let's hope it's wrong and stays drier for longer. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/berwick-upon-tweed-northumberland#?tab=fiveDay Could be a Berwick home win by 10 - 12 pts. -

So you're first quote should have said something like "what I have been told is"...... That is what you were told happened. -

When did the chain jam? I only ask, as the bike coasted from the entry in to turn one until it came to a halt at exit turn 1/beginning of turn two, which is where Thomas left it. Also, why did team manager Dave Peet have a shouting match with Thomas when Thomas returned to his pit? -
What Does A Team Captain Do And Do They Make A Difference?
StevePark replied to jeff's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Add to that any problems with, say, the track conditions, it's always the two captains (and team managers) who are in discussion with the ref. -

It's done on Average of points. So the Total number of points divided by the number of matches. -

Christian is possibly the best 'No. 2' in the league at the minute. Why change it? -

KO and League Cup didn't count (i.e only League matches used to count). -

I think they brought it in this year. I agree with you. Stops early fiddling, especially for those on assessed averages. For others already on 'true averages', it doesn't really change much due to rolling averages. -
As the two posters above here correctly state, Steve asked to be rested, so, no, he wasn't sacked. Newcastle race on a Sunday (the same day as Poland), therefore a return to Newcastle was out of the question. He can still ride in all three leagues and help Richie in Poland, when fixtures allow.
