  1. The reason given for the postponement was FIVE riders had withdrawn from the meeting, not helped by Glasgow re-arranging their meeting against Poole for Saturday afternoon.
  2. Which would make supporting either/both clubs damned expensive, especially Monarchs fans who have the extra cost of fuel for getting to the track. And, we appear to have forgotten all about the Armadale Devils in all of this. What happens to them?
  3. How long do you put a License "on Ice" for? Surely if there was somewhere in the area, it would have been found by now (similar to Newcastle's vain attempt to find somewhere)?
  4. Possibly because 6 out of the 8 have Prem/Champ teams as well and they will take preference in getting fixtures on?
  5. What about the Newcastle riders? As an example, Matty Wethers hasn't ridden since Newcastle closed. Does this mean he keeps his 2022 starting average, or does his Newcastle matches count?
  6. OK., I'll start.... You're a miserable old git....( )....... which makes me one as well, because, unless you have very deep pockets and don't care about losing money as if it's going out of fashion, you must be mad to even think about running a speedway team in the current environment. Speedway has been on a downward spiral for years and yet, every winter, the "powers that be" bury there heads in the sand and ignore it, so the sport will continue to spiral downwards and, eventually, there will be a league of three or four (if they are lucky). Then it will be "well, the fans didn't turn up" and it will be all placed at our feet and they will walk away happily saying "it weren't our fault. We did everything we could..." when the truth is they've done very little to help.

  8. Yes - only because they can't afford to pay the electric bill.....
  9. Great North Run (on Tyneside for the uninitiated) goes ahead on Sunday, with "a number of planned changes" (more details to be released).
  10. Yes. Hovver over the users name and simply press "Ignore User".
  11. "A quick whizz" wouldn't have given him the extra time he may have needed. Common sense from Redcar, I would suggest. Goes on at most, if not all, tracks.
  12. Lewi Kerr had two rides on the trot, so I'd imagine it would be to give him a little bit of extra time.
  13. The infamous "Shearer hat-trick" if I recall.
  14. POOLE: Steve Worrall, Drew Kemp, Danny King, Ben Cook, Richard Lawson, Zach Cook, Nathan Ablitt. PLYMOUTH: Lewis Kerr, Jason Edwards, Edward Kennett r/r, Dillon Ruml, Broc Nicol, Ben Morley, Harry McGurk.
  15. There is now (with teams): https://britishspeedway.co.uk/championship/preview-poole-v-plymouth-cjl/
  16. Surely he can wear what he wants? Interesting you should look at a contract for 2003, when he left for Berwick in July 2002! LOL! Might have mentioned this before, but we (Dalbers , Dave Fraser and myself) tried to talk him out of wanting to leave when he joined us for a trip up to Glasgow when he was out injured in 2002. Most of the way there and most of the way back we tried to make him see sense. The following night, he came up to the gantry (Dalbers was doing the commentary for JAG Videos Live in those days) only for him to tell us he'd handed in a transfer request. So clearly (despite him telling everyone it was the biggest mistake of his career) he hasn't learnt anything in all the years since. We won't mention bomb scares......
  17. Line ups (BSPL Website meeting preview): BELLE VUE: Jack Smith, Sam Hagon, Jake Mulford, Sam McGurk, Nathan Ablitt, Archie Freeman, Freddy Hodder. KENT: Dan Thompson, Sam Woolley R/R, Danno Verge, Dean Douglas, Greg Blair, Chris Watts, Jack Shimelt.
  18. Go to the link below, then, where it says "Supporters" below it hit the "see more" box continuously until you reach the bottom of the donations, date of the first donations are there: https://justgiving.com/crowdfunding/newcastle-diamonds
  19. Which has fundamental mistakes in it. They say the drugs being taken "contain elements of Morphine", which is not the case. The drugs Zapain (which they misspell with an 'e' on the end) and Co-codomol which will, in fact, make the body produce the morphine and do not contain Morphine.
  20. A number 8 has to be in an NDL declared 1-7 (this from a SCB Referee). A "local second halfer/wobbler" may be seen as a danger to "experienced" riders, hence the rule.
