What ? Think I need another and you do maybe or maybe had a few already? Used to sort of understand the rules but since the demise of Eastbourne and the on set of old age I'm a bit lost.....
-
If Geoff100 is anywhere near that age, take my hat off to you if they're bouncing... and not dragging along.
-
If it was the case, surely should have been announced at the track ( by various posts assume it wasn't) and put out on social media. Either not true or bad pr for the lad, one way or another.

Plymouth v Oxford - Tue 20th June - Champ
gazzac replied to Bojangles's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Sure it's been the case as long as I can remember with a late change leading to r/r. Had many a programme looking like a dog's dinner before the meeting started, changes to riding order and virtually every race. -
Let's be honest I'm old school and maybe not pc for today, but if my 3 x15 year olds had done something like that at that age in any sport they were in, quite a lot but not speedway admittedly, I'd have banned them and taken their toys away, but hey they're late 30's now and lovely level headed adults.....

Leicester lions 2023 (PREMIERSHIP)

Seems to compound the feeling it maybe a silly decision, dropping a level headed young man on the up for someone who seems to have history who may do better? -

Might do him a favour, won't now have the loyalty he may have had for Leicester and kick on with another club. -
My thought has always been why would you want to go when you've paid for a second half and it's more heats whatever level, as you say can't fathom it out as it always seemed a bonus. Always watched the second halves at Eastbourne, saw in my time young Kennett, Bridger, Brennan etc being so excited when they got under 60 seconds. Also half emptied the car park and always got out quickly, I did have a good hours drive to get home, so it wasn't as though I lived around the corner.

As a matter of interest what were the crowds in the boom years in the NL( 2014/18) when Birmingham had the likes of Adam Ellis etc and had stern competition from Eastbourne and BV etc over a 3 /4 year period, probably more than now I imagine. Like Eastbourne were pretty successful over that period, I always said that was the level of clubs like those 2 and many others, but I still think was deemed too successful and a threat to the higher leagues and diluted it. My club has gone, and sadly Birmingham look likely to follow if crowds are only 300/500.

Poole Vs Plymouth 7th June league

I imagine most would welcome it, always a fine line between improving the racing surface and taking away home advantage I suppose. -

About as much chance of a 100 a day long term smoker giving up over night.....Hard to break the habit of a lifetime I would imagine, but with any dry spell would definitely be a good thing. -

Probably was, pretty much out in substantial woodland. If you did the same today could be the A27, that's pretty much a car park from Eastbourne to Southampton..... -

Point taken, I fell out of love with football years ago when the money side at the top became obscene. I was a long time supporter of Pompey so not just armchair and loved seeing the Sir Alex era with the bulk of the Man U team being from the youth side, now just the biggest foreign investors win. Anyway I'd still always go for live speedway first. -

I always remember at Eastbourne Bob Dugard watering all day when it was dry and windy like this with no rain in the forecast, starting the meeting with quite a wet track, always created a good dust free track as the sun came off it, we did run a deep grippy track though normally when at top level. -

Watch the speedway live especially with the weather forecast looking so good, if you really have to, can see the football on catch up later. The people who have the money to waste on football at that level probably wouldn't go to speedway anyway. -
Suppose only he knows, we all surmise on here me included. If it happens again at Scunny definitely a problem for him though.
-
Was always surprising that the senior Poole riders didn't put him right when riding for them really. As he's 20 now hopefully he's grown out of his teenage strops for Scunthorpe's sake and acts his age....

Isn't that the definition of being inconsistent which over the years he has been really? I'm not a Poole fan and nothing against Steve but I know who'd I prefer to have as a No1/ heat leader..... -

Jason has always been a polite level headed young man, even as a kid at Eastbourne was exactly the same, a pleasure to watch and speak to, always seemed to be in control of the bike and himself. -
Mind you the way his riding for Poole at the moment r/r probably won't do you any harm.....
-
Be about 20 in the crowd so unlikely to be a success......
