  1. I've always thought the panto season shouldn't start until Dec 1st ......we seem to run a 12 month season on the bsf.
  2. I think at the end of the day 'toughness ' is an underestimated part of speedway in some ways. Brennen especially with a couple of early bad injuries came back stronger where Kemp who initially looked to have more talent on a bike doesn't seemed to have made the gains, maybe not as tough. Occasionally you get the combination of both and they go all the way like Dan Bewley, of the current crop Brennen is at the balance point, fingers crossed he can be the next Dan.
  3. Wind turbine maybe a better bet than solar panels? Sure the IOW is the sunniest place ( or second) , not sure where Workington is on the list.....
  4. As Brennen is an asset and baring injury will only get better and better, surely whoever you have I would have thought build it around Basso and Brennen?....
  5. Agree with what you're saying, and to a point the list, but is Bewley second tier now, gp winner etc?
  6. Should have happened about 4 years ago really, so although I agree with what you've said, will it happen now? I was lucky to see the NL with Eastie between 2015/18, and once you got it in your head we'd dropped from the old proper Elite league the racing was really good. Saw Adam Ellis, Ellis Perks, Tom Brennen etc, all coming up through, even a young Dan Bewley once, what happened to him I wonder... May have been lucky but a league level slightly higher than that level I'm sure would eventually work. Just need to convince the clubs and diehards.
  7. Best idea and save a lot of wasted time is to award it to Leicester. Probably their only chance of winning something in the immediate future...... ( Just to confirm I'm not a Poole fan...)
  8. Really pleased to see on here how Richard Lawson won over the Poole fans this season and looks like 100% want him back next season. When you look back at the posts in Poole 2022 around the Basso departing, Lawson coming time it was pretty much the other way. All things considered you ended up with a good deal, he certainly didn't let you down.
  9. Sure 2023 will be the start of great things to come, think they'll be room anywhere they want to go to be honest ( John) .
  10. Most fans knew it was lip service to development and a waste of time and space, this season just confirms what we knew last year.
  11. Although I'm certainly not a lover of the playoffs ( or particularly Poole come to that, although that's success envy really) and think the league should still be a league and not an end of season ko cup, having got to this point no way can it be decided on the league positions or league meeting averages prior to the playoffs. Needs to be a meeting somehow, somewhere, if not unfortunately Poole will probably win the 'league' by the last 3 heats on Wednesday.
  12. It's always should of, would of, could of with referee's with differing opinions, if early heats had a different outcome, any following heat would not have been the same anyway, the butterfly effect etc.
  13. Over the 2 meetings all BV riders just raised their game at important moments of both meetings, which Sheffield just failed to do. When you see Tom Brennen had 16+1 over the 2 meetings also shouldn't be underestimated, having seen him as a kid at Eastbourne, he's still learning but seems to have the fire like Dan Bewley, just hope he continues on the same path.
  14. Thanks to Putin he'll still be unemployed/unemployable next year.
  15. Toss of a coin and save the money......
  16. I believe those figures are well down on previous years, hard times for everyone at the moment.
  17. Although probably at a reduced rate because of the historical family speedway ties, a new speedway promotion would have to rent the stadium for their racing I would imagine.
  18. That's stupid, no rain in the forecast in the south until Friday.
  19. Would the promotion and fans mind the round trip to Eastbourne, track going spare......I'd support you.
  20. So what your saying is a second division like the NL was in 2017/ 2018 when the likes of Eastbourne/ Kent/IOW /Birmingham were in it, before it was targeted as becoming too successful and forced to a far lower level like today, a level it seems unacceptable to the Dugards as not attracting a level of support that could be successful after start up costs.
