  1. Time moves on. it's ok to reflect on the past we all do, crowd levels drop because of many things, the popularity of the sport as a whole has dropped, clubs have closed and we can sit on our sofa to watch it. The playoffs make it more exciting and this year we have Lakeside and Swindon having a playoff decider.
  2. I think it works for some teams to drop down to PL but although a lot have complained that the racing is worse now, would it be any better in PL because thats why fans turn up.
  3. There are more teams than can qualify for the play offs and have a chance of winning the league. How many team had a chance of winning the league by the end of august without the play offs? The 6 play off meetings are usually the best attended of any meeting and the best racing. Teams usually charge more for the final so even more money is generated. You can't keep comparing to what speedway was like in a previous era, what it was like in the good old days. Life has changed and so has sport. Play offs are a part of most sports in the current era and i think the majority of fans like them and embrace them
  4. Did Leicester apologise for misleading the public
  5. In whst way are we in the wrong in this case? He's so blinkered he wouldnt notice! Did Kings Lynn apologise for fielding a substandard team
  6. We all care and the vast majority don't like one sided meetings but that isn't Poole's fault.
  7. There's plenty of time for ticket sales between now and monday night. Maybe getting the track sorted before the season started may have helped
  8. That rider that got paid 17 got 3 last night. I think his form has dropped a bit! That rider that i considered should be in the SWC team hasn't exactly hit much form at home so i was wrong on that one. Paddy got paid 14 last night although i recognise he isn't as good as Fricke. On the plus side for your team is the form of Jacobs so having to use a reserve for a r/r isn't too bad. I am not saying you are strengthened and neither is Poole.
  9. That is because they didn't have the play offs to look forward to and some people save their money for the big meetings these days.
  10. It sounds like your saying one of them will be replaced surely if they are fit the best option would be to keep both of them. If needed surely both could be replaced on a like for like basis.
  11. No much different then. Only got 3 last night so his form has dropped a bit!
  12. Agree with that, the Worrall's are strange as Steve seems to be going the right way which can't be said of Richard who should be cleaning up at reserve but isn't. It remains to be seen if Garrity can make as a top rider, personally think he will fall short.
  13. Can't be surprising you get a low crowd when the worst team in the league is in town. Monday should be a bumper payday as will the playoffs whether your against Wolves and Tai or not.
  14. You should have seen Kyle Howarth monday all over the place, he looked quicker than last i saw him but looked like an accident waiting to happen.
  15. Don't think many at Poole would not regard him as a real trier and never gives up, that is what we all want in a rider and we know he will not be found wanting in the play offs. as i said on the night he was unlucky with a couple of decisions at Wolves and looked really quick, sometimes over rides but rather he did that than give up at the back like Batchelor.
  16. Yes but Paddy got 14 last night as an away rider so not much different to Fricke. When was the last time Fricke got 14? They have to use a reserve but have you seen how Jacobs is going at Belle Vue lately, we have Tungate guesting who got 3 last night. Belle Vue are going to have to ride very poorly not to win
  17. Ellis has come on a lot this year and is on the up. Newman looked really quick at Wolves monday but that is a small track so maybe a bad comparison, he has to stay at reserve or he seems to struggle. I agree i dont think he will get better than he is currently, loved at Poole as he is a hometown boy and i know he has had injuries but dont think he will ever make EL heatleader
  18. Belle Vue massive favourites to finish top, they only need to win their two remaining home meetings. Are Belle Vue struggling financially then?
