  1. If Branford is the reserve of choice, it leaves us with 5.66 for the final rider, in which case Klindt would look about the best of the bunch that are left
  2. I know nothing about track preparation, but I've said before that I wonder whether the track is down to the bikes not being able to handle a lot of dirt anymore. Cracking move to get Stead to be manager - if he can assert the same influence on the other riders as he did on Bates we should see increases in average across the board. It will particularly be good for somebody like JPB who, if taught the right way regarding both on and off track aspects of the sport, could go far
  3. One of the best full stop not just in the Premier league. Happy retirement and hope he enjoys whatever he chooses to do
  4. 10.26 remaining, Steady would leave us with less than 2 points so that looks like the end of him at Sheffield 😞☹️️
  5. Would be very surprised if Howarth/Bates is on that list. Would guess that Tungate and Josh G will be at the top and wouldn't be surprised to see Stark/Wright up there as well and probably the Rebels reserve pairing too
  6. Gutted! Enjoyed watching the little Frenchman and don't think we got to see the best of the bigger version either
  7. Bellego to Swindon so that's him definitely out of our plans
  8. Announcements for Wolves and us... Howarth?
  9. Maybe coming to Sheffield could help with his eternal quest for speed
  10. Garrity has taken it that he won't be back according to his Facebook page
  11. It looks like that mistake has been made - Sheffield Star says that he is heading through the exit door...
  12. According to the Sheffield Star, we are in talks with Bates (who remains popular with the Owlerton faithful) and JPB who we are hoping to sign on a 2 point average... not sure how when he hasn't ridden in the league before and so my understanding was that he would be a 3
  13. Didn't see that one coming! A decent start to the team
  14. Schlein has said that he has done a deal in the U.K.
  15. According to the Sheffield Facebook page, they are putting the finishing touches to our first signing and will be announcing soon. Would guess JPB given it is fairly obvious he will be joining us and should be a straightforward deal to be done (you would think)
  16. Steady's steel shoe bent in half in a crash and hurt his foot - nothing broken as far as I'm aware. Not aware of an issue between Josh and Jason. Allegedly Jason fell out with Boocock, but he also allegedly had a van taken off him by a sponsor - neither of which he ever had, so who knows!! He has been in the pits with wrist strapped up helping Greaves for the past few home meetings.
  17. My bad!! Read it somewhere and didn't bother to check the facts... A very deserved victory for the Rebels, just glad that we kept it respectable for the first half of the meeting at least
  18. Whilst I agree with you that it should be Somerset's to lose, I suppose the question mark arises that people said that about Newcastle and then about Glasgow. All things considered, Sheffield shouldn't be in this meeting!!. Think we only lost by 10 earlier in the season and a couple of our riders have upped their game since then - it would only take a first bend tumble for Tungate or Josh G to make things considerably more difficult for the Rebels (I hope that doesn't happen, but it wouldn't be unheard of)
  19. Congratulations to the Rebels, a deserved win (although engine failures lost us the meeting arguably). A good meeting and particular thanks to Robson who rode his proverbials off all night.
  20. Just noticed that the Rebels have a guest at reserve - just in case we lose, can I complain in advance that it is unfair that they were allowed to use said guest and that it makes a complete mockery of the entire system, accordingly they should be made to forfeit the match or to compete with just 6 riders
  21. Would love Sheffield to win, but realistically (and deservedly so) it will be the Rebels. We beat them at home earlier in the season, but only because they lost 2 riders to injury during the meeting - we will be doing well to win the home leg unfortunately. That said, I thought that about Newcastle and Glasgow, so you never know!! Team work makes the dream work and all that....
  22. Not the guests I would have chosen... but I suppose Robson did a decent job for us at Newcastle 😜
