Lasse Bjerre. Refusal To Ride.
Cue Ball replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What's the difference between `Lasse was unable to ride` and `no longer able to ride`?? An extremely subtle difference which amounts to no difference I would humbly suggest -

Agreed. We had the meeting won and realistically we don't care if Scunny picked up a bonus point as it won't effect our end of the table, so why not give him the extra experience. -

Regarding Wood's exclusion... was the ref having a laugh?!?! He was off gate 4 going round turn 1 still by the fence when he got clattered from behind by Tero who was off gate 1... still can't figure out that decision!! That said, couldn't see the need for booing Tero, not his fault that the ref needs specs -
Redcar V Sheffield Friday

Think it was a case of Lawson was riding at Sheffield last night so it saves the price of a phone call to anybody else! That and he has never let us down in the past -

We won by 12 points last time, but Cook had an uncharacteristically bad night (by his standards), so could be a close one - especially if Campton rides like he did last time. -

Wowsers!! Hoped we might scrape a point after performances earlier in the year, yet did not see that coming - think losing Sam probably had a slight impact, but we would still have ended up with a point or 2 which would still have been a cracking result -
Not sure I follow 'the get at Cook' attitude - he is what he is and I'm not sure I have ever seen him attempt to big himself up into being something he isn't. Never spoken to him as such, but he seems a really nice guy - when he guested for Sheffield a lot a year or 2 back he was brilliant with the kids hanging around the pits, always had time for them for high fives, signatures and photos etc

Think that is by far and away the best I have seen Graversen ride, can't really fault him - The effort in his final ride was there for all to see and perhaps shows some riders the benefits of not giving up and racing to the line -

Howarth is out with concussion and Bates might be dubious after last week's tumble, so presume that baby Bjerre will come in for Sheffield -

Second highest scoring team of the year around Owlerton... not that disgusting a team 🤔 -
Graversen in the pits tonight and Lasse saying that it will be nice to have somebody to speak in Danish to... hmmm...

Wood looks ok, a trier at the very least. 2nd ride out gates Howarth and was level with him coming round turn 4 -
Sgb Championship Best Pairs 2017
Cue Ball replied to idh's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think they are fairly even - from a Sheffield perspective I wouldn't have wanted to come up against Glasgow, Peterborough or Ipswich, likewise I doubt many teams would want to come up against Edinburgh, Newcastle or Sheffield. I suppose Workington and Scunny are marginally weaker than Redcar & Berwick, but I wouldn't have thought there was much in it -

No Josh Bates tonight due to illness, so rider replacement, probably guarantees a win for the Scots -

Yeah, you're right, just an average, run of the mill, from the gate, kind of race -

Ostergaard looked like he was having bike issues and was easily winning his final ride when his chain went. Not trying to defend him as he was a bit crap, but not as crap as his score suggests. Anyway.... heat 15 was worth the admission alone, possibly the admission for 2 weeks! Absolutely awesome race and credit to the 4 involved for such close racing with no hint of an accident occurring. Sort of wish Holder rode for us. He's a good un -

Do we know who is set to guest at reserve yet? The whole JPB thing is slightly confusing in that it should have been a 28 day ban, unless he returns to the same club in which case it is only 14 (eg Josh Auty style) - sure that I have seen he is returning to Birmingham colours which would suggest the 14 days rather than 28... but he hasn't been announced as being back with Sheffield. Not got an issue with him getting a reduced ban (if he has) as he is 16 and needs to be cut some slack IMHO, but would be nice to know. In terms of the meeting, think it could be close, Peterborough have a top 5 who are proven race winners around our track in the past and don't see why this week should be any different -

Actually heard a rumour last night that JPB is coming back... don't know if there is any truth to it though -

Josh G. Blimey he's good. -
They used to until I would guess early 2000's, but seem to remember talking to Louis Carr about it when they stopped it and it was a case of the club wasn't getting anything in return in terms of advertising or something along those lines (it's all a very long time ago!!). It might be something worth raising as Mr Bates & co seem to be a bit more progressive and willing to try things to boost attendances so they might want to re-visit it
