If necessary / urgent repairs quoted are around £500,000, add to that general stadium repairs and maintenance, legal fees, insurance, the cost of buying the lease, general stadium running costs then the total adds up. Spedeworth are obviously looking at a long term future there so are willing to invest but I would not be surprised if they run close to the figure I quoted in the first year, I can also see the steel rope safety fence being removed and being replaced with a concrete and steel one like Mildenhall and Aldershot while the repairs are going on. Obviously I do not know if any of this is factual but seeing how they rebuilt Mildenhall after the fire they show that they are not afraid to do things right and do things once to maintain a long term future.

If Deane / spedeworth have taken on the full lease of the stadium under a normal repair and maintain lease and ready to spend and carry out the repairs / conditions required to open it up to the public and racing again then I am sure he would have made sure he can sub-let within that lease. To purchase the stadium lease, carry out the required repairs and then allowing for other costs involved I bet he will not have much change from around a million to get the racing going again and the public back in supporting it

Deane Wood of Spedeworh seems very much a general motor sport fan and a business man, If the right people approached him regarding speedway we could possibly see it return to Arlington sometime next year. I don't know if he has the full lease at Ipswitch but speedway runs alongside Spedeworth there, Mildenhall and Northampton and if Arlington got added to the list there could be a nice partnership in the making. 🤞👍

Just set up the Final to record on my Sky Q box and my Mrs said look at that, and at the end of the blurb about the British Final it had ep1 series 1. Is this a hint about possibly more ITV television coverage? We live in hope 🙂

The trouble with fans on here is that you do not understand the minds of those who run the sport. Any rule implemented is followed by the clause " unless of course we change our minds or it does not suit one of the members /fellow promoters or any other reason we can think of ", of course any reason given does not concern the fans because they do not need to know because we are the rulers and they are here just to hand over there hard earned each week. Mind you if Richard and Tom had not raced for the Tigers last night I think the score would be closer to the maximum 75-15

Statements like that from councils is about as reliable as the rule book in speedway, time and money talks. I bet a asset company has already started there phone calls offering big bucks and are ready to sit on the land and a slowly dilapidating stadium until the council has further thoughts on the situation.

As with most decisions and agreements in speedway its more than likely not worth the paper its written on, what happens if a club is sold and the new owners do not wish to run premiership? What if the present owners have decided that they have lost enough money already and don't fancy another season of it? Remember this is British Speedway and its made up of what ifs and maybe's, nothing can be taken as gospel or a certainty.

I think its very relevant myself, Kyle has said that he and many other riders are fed up / sick of racing the same tracks. As a speedway rider (or any motor sport competitor) if they feel pi$$ed of and there head is not in the right place then a break from the sport is needed for there own sanity and there's and others safety. I'm sure a rider of Kyles quality and dedication he did not take this decision lightly.

Going to be a close match, our reserves have got to come to the party tonight and everyone in the team needs there gating boots on and staying out of last place in each heat (leave that position to the lions 😉)

To me seeing that post does not give me good vibes about the future of the stadium, to evict a long term regular income from the stadium there must be thoughts about its future going in a different direction. 😡

"Maybe next season will see" is something that has been quoted by promoters and fans alike for god knows how many years but here we are on the brink of extinction in this country but still clutching at straws that the next year / season might be the one that see's a positive upturn for the sport but in the back of everyone's mind is the thought that the straw we are clutching at might be the one that breaks the camels back.

True it is only the start of August BUT is is also nearing the end of the season for some tracks so some information going forward would be nice. But no need to worry we can wait for February 2027 for any announcement maybe something like "this year it going to be a 3 maybe 4 team league but we will play each team 3 times home and away and for extra fixtures we have also added extra cup meetings again against the same teams" (sorry if you end up playing the same team at home 3 weeks running) Also for this season we are running 5 man teams with 2 rising stars at 6 and 7 For all this entertainment we are only increasing the admission by £2 but if your over 80 with both parents with you yourself can have free admission on the night. Obviously I am just surmising this will be 2027 as I have no idea what the plans are and it is a joke post as they could never announce something like this ............ or could they ?????

In answer to the topic title No at present, with all the fiasco of who would be running and who would not the message from the those who supposedly know was "stick with us we have plans for 2027". Well where and what are they ? I can see the close season ahead being the same as last year full of what ifs and promises with things being thrown together a couple of weeks before the start of the season with more crap being spewed out once more. I have followed this sport since 1968 and I am now 69 and rapidly losing interest in it, the sport over here is dying on its arse and instead of those in charge looking to the future of it they are licking fag papers and sticking them over the cracks trying to hold what's left off it together. How can anyone be interested in 2027 when according to the promoters the people are already voting with there feet in this the 2026 season. One has to wonder how many more loyal supporters will not return next year and the possibility of how many tracks will not return either in there current form?

The council are not entitled to say "on your bike" because of things supposedly said to the owner on social media, The council are there to sit and judge a company that ignored planning laws and went ahead and ripped out, demolished and built on the the track and stadium grounds that they had no permission to do. The council have to decide if the company is required to re-instate the stadium to the way it was when they got the lease no matter if they have an intention to run speedway or not. If this has to be done (which we all hope it will be on a matter of principle) then the next thing the council should look at is to see if they have broken the terms of the lease and if so could they legally invoke a clause in the lease and make it null and void and take the lease back and issue a order for the tender for the stadium lease on the open market once again?

We attended Buxton on Sunday and I think it will be a while before we return, there was fallers in every race I think which I believe was more down to the track many times not the riders. The track was like concrete with dust and stones on the top on the bends so to the riders it must have felt like sliding on marbles. It was so hard that the tractor grading it was picking up next to nothing and kicking up just as much dust as the riders during the races. I know it was a hot day so why was the track not watered well before the meeting to get it to seep into the track? The truck / bowser was ineffective to say the least, and why did the referee allow the truck to fill up with water on the centre green while the racing was going on I thought all tractors etc had to be removed back to the pits during races? We stuck it out for the 15 heats and then left and while I know its National league racing it was far from a good advert for the sport.

I think Harry must be on a pre season tour across the country promoting our great sport.

With Spedeworth owning both Northamptom and Mildenhall tracks one has to assume that both tracks safety barrier for the cars are very similar. He never lasted to the end of the season, I believe the riders were not getting paid and the licence was suspended until finances were in place which never happened so they never re-opened. I don't think the riders have ever received there promised monies by the promotion.

Which is a lot further than the BSPL have done many times with there plans over the years. 😂

With speedway on its arse at present would any club that signs him really want the possible publicity across the media especially if the nationals pick up on it?

With the lack of teams in the premiership and with it a lack of meetings it could be a good time to bring back the inter-league cup again. It could be an interesting selection of meetings once they worked out who would ride for who with all the doubling up. Mind you they could tweak the rules and the doubling up rider could ride for both teams on the night but when due to meet each other in a race one team would have to use a reserve replacement. Sounds stupid I know but very feasible in this day and age of speedway so get Mr Morris on it straight away and put out a press release 🤣🤣🤣

If your so concerned about the possible loss of a community facility then put your hand in your pocket and give Chris £xxx amount of thousands for the club or at least offer to go into partnership with him. At the end of the day if Chris has had enough of running the club no matter if its for financial reasons or personal I think its his decision and his alone.
