With the lack of teams in the premiership and with it a lack of meetings it could be a good time to bring back the inter-league cup again. It could be an interesting selection of meetings once they worked out who would ride for who with all the doubling up. Mind you they could tweak the rules and the doubling up rider could ride for both teams on the night but when due to meet each other in a race one team would have to use a reserve replacement. Sounds stupid I know but very feasible in this day and age of speedway so get Mr Morris on it straight away and put out a press release 🤣🤣🤣

If your so concerned about the possible loss of a community facility then put your hand in your pocket and give Chris £xxx amount of thousands for the club or at least offer to go into partnership with him. At the end of the day if Chris has had enough of running the club no matter if its for financial reasons or personal I think its his decision and his alone.

you sound sure of that ! with three confirmed teams the season sounds exciting, we could be watching:- League matches (play each other twice home and away) Three team tournament on each track for a cup best pairs meeting (two pairs from each team) challenge matches against the other teams and there you have a season of 9 home matches (11 if they play each other 3 times in the league) With a possible season like that there will be queues of mugs (sorry fans) lining up to get in at every match. 😉🤣

100% correct Look around the pits and see many a 3 point rider / Junior with a van that has "international Speedway rider" plastered over it, which means they rode a grass track or two in France when the van should really say "racing with the aid of Mum, Dad and family savings" Being semi professional is the only way forward to save speedway in this country

Agree 100% Speedway in this country as we know it is in a state of collapse, high wages, high stadium rents and dwindling supporters are the norm these days. GP standard riders wages are expensive AND if no team will meet there demands they take there ability elsewhere in Europe to ride which is fair enough. How many races have we seen in the past couple of seasons where there are two races in one? Top riders a straight length ahead of second strings or reserves battling it out together So as more teams fall by the wayside so will the GP riders. The way things are going at present within 5 years any teams that are left will have to have riders that are semi-professional racing mainly at weekends again, maybe back to the 13 heats and a second half once more where the supporters can watch the juniors improve week on week like we used to. This is the only way I can see speedway completely surviving in this country starting from the grass roots again and rebuilding.

Before the BSPL come out of there meeting and say "its all ok and we have sorted out a long term plan" (which basically means we have added a bit of filler and painted over the cracks) they need to stop and realise a bit of filler and paint is to late as the bloody door has now fell off all together. There is talk about a 5 team premiership (maybe even 3) so lets be honest how many supporters are going to keep going to watch the same teams every two weeks, unless they are going to run less and have monthly meetings in which case instead of attracting more supporters by the end of the season you will have attracted less just leaving the die hard support still attending. And what is the incentive for a Championship club to step up into the Premiership? Any club will be welcomed with open arms that's true but at the same time I get the impression that they would be told or advised to "toe the line" and learn how we do things in the big league, further adding "we may not do it right but we do it our way" For me the Championship has got the right idea, they are team building for 2026 and letting the premiership get on with things as I think they like me can see the total collapse of the premier league happening very soon unless something drastic takes place like a small European League to boost teams in it. Whatever mighty decisions are taking place the result from the annual AGM in January will be interesting to say the least.

With the state of the premiership at present I would not be surprised if they have not been asked if they want to step straight into the higher league. 🙄

So in that case if they don't sell they don't run in 2026.

Ok a simple question for the club, If the current situation is not resolved by January (the conference) will the promoters / management team bring the Tigers to the tapes in 2026 but with the club remaining up for sale (and possible be sold during the 2026 season) OR will the current Promoters / management put the club on ice until a buyer (hopefully) will be found? (Assuming there is a premiership League in 2026)

I agree but someone can own more than one club and appoint a promoter to run the club for them (but then it just makes the promoter the mouthpiece of the club owner)

Season Tickets ? No one knows if there is going to be a league in 2026 yet or if there is what type or strength of league there will be.

.......... and that is now supposed to be in January BUT like everything else in British speedway its not set in stone so it could yet be February, March, April, May or even 2027.

To be honest we do not know if it looks good or not, we the fans are just mushrooms again (kept in the dark and fed bullsh1t). While I would not want or expect the club to say we are talking to xyz and negotiating with abc but they could put out an announcement of what is happening to a point instead of leaving several hundred fans thinking and worrying about the club and its future.

Isn't this the second season running that there is lease / stadium problem here at Inwade? You have to wonder if the landlords want league racing here or to just run the stadium on a open / training track licence.

Ok Sheffield and Ipswich clubs are up for sale but what exactly is for sale? As I see it its mostly material things as they cannot sell the riders as they are only under contract from March to October. Maybe the following ...... The club name Air Fence Safety Fence Several ton of used shale Track Maintenance equipment Track Licence possible the stadium lease to run speedway Goodwill ???? Apart from the above what is there? I cannot see sponsorship being in the deal unless the sponsor's agree to it as the original deal was struck with the clubs outgoing promoters. Also any incoming promoter will have to be approved by the BSPA and the stadium owners to agree they are suitable promoters and tenants. Or have I got this all wrong ???

Are the rules not as follows? They can promote the team with the guidance of an experienced BSPA member but they cannot vote on anything for two years but must pay there membership fee / bond as others do. I assume the guidance is to help them along and point them in the right direction (ie do as there told and follow the instructions and rules of fellow promoters)

Bringing back the double points tactical substitute off 15 mtrs or maybe the 6 lap heat 15 again. Maybe they might go for broke and say ALL riders available from both teams can race in heat 15 (all together on the track at the same time) 😂😂😂

Following on from the Plymouth team on Saturday having 4 guests and r/r to join there two available riders the Speedway Control Board has seen a way forward and are considering the following ........ 1) All riders will be under contract to the SCB 2) All riders will be graded according to there riding average 3) For every match 14 riders will be allotted to the track with 2x number ones, 2 x number twos etc 4) Prior to the start of the match each pair of riders will be drawn out of a hat until both teams have a 1-7 (like heat 15 at present the supporters will have to fill out the riders in the programme) 5) Each team will then pull on the relevant race jacket and the match can commence 6) At the end of the match the riders hand back the race jackets, head home and await the instructions of their next match Further to this idea there is a consideration of adding defunct teams to bolster the league and will not have a home track but run as nomad teams on other available tracks. This is all tongue in cheek as I'm only joking ( I think) 🤣🤣🤣

yes he was gifted a point when Jeppesen fell in his first ride where he moved at the start then missed it (and had a warning from the ref after the heat) but after that he was in the mix every race. Another couple of meetings and he is going to make a lot of doubter's eat there words.

you will have to have a guest rider / reserve you cannot have r/r as a reserve can only replace a reserve

There is a nice quote in Len Silvers book regarding Steve Ribbons and the return of Rye House after a phone call from Hazal to Len when the facilities were (supposedly) being installed in the winter of 1999-2000. "No-one knows what to do or how to do it. Steve Ribbons is full of promises but not much else and your definitely needed here."

As I have said elsewhere for a family sport that they keep on about I feel is getting expensive now. A average family of mum and dad plus 2 kids over 11 and your admission is £60 add to that programmes, parking and a bit of food plus petrol and your talking of around £100 for a family night out. To date they have not announced how much programmes will be next season or how much the stadium will charge for car parking. Also judging by the way stadium security were checking bags at the end of last season I can see drinks and snacks not being allowed to be taken into the stadium I can see a lot of people thinking is the 2025 season affordable or maybe picking and choosing there meetings. The best thing is you can be sure that if the crowd numbers fall and we end up back in the championship (or worse) in 2026 it will be all OUR fault for not supporting the club.
