Arenacross is held in an arena and supercross is held in a stadium.
-
Tyson Fury keeps saying he’s quitting aswell. Believe it when I see it.
-
I paid just under £50 last night, there were cheaper tickets available and also some more expensive. You could get a family ticket for £100. They also do numerous VIP upgrades and you can also buy a track walk package.
-
I went aswell and it really is an entertaining and enjoyable show, it’s non stop and the 3 hours go so quickly. Thought Dan was playing quite it safe when he had other riders around him but put in a good performance in his second ride.

I’m not sure now that a national marketing campaign would do much good, I think clubs need to market better in the local area to get back lost fans. My local track is Oxford, now when I buy a ticket I need to input my email address. I have never received any email from them advising me of what meetings are coming up or asking me how my experience was. They must have thousands of email addresses that they could reach out too and have so many potential customers they could contact in one easy way with offers to get them to attend again. I will say the information they supply on the WhatsApp group is very good though.

Six days apart which was the norm at Oxford due to the running in both the premiership and championship. I doubt very much the meeting being shown on BSN would have made up the difference in attendance between the two meetings. The so called big names don’t really draw people in anymore, I expect if you asked people in Manchester who Brady Kurtz is nearly everybody wouldn’t have a clue. Belle Vue have two of the best riders in the world but when looking at the empty seats on the tv matches they are hardly drawing the punters in.
-
Not always, went to Oxford v Belle Vue last season and the crowd was awful. Next match was against Plymouth and the crowd was much bigger.
-
Cook was more of a problem than Boughen. How you can blame a RS for Kings Lynn’s lack of success last season is a ridiculous statement. I’m sure you won’t be blaming Cairns if Belle Vue don’t win anything.
-
Oxford did that in 1989 aswell.

I don’t think anyone genuine speedway fan will be disappointed if speedway stays on in the Poole area even if they don’t like the team. As soon as people hear the name Clark Osbourne they are then genuinely worried for that club. The man is a cancer to the sport and a habitual liar to speedway fans and promotions.
-
Tbf when Dan signed up to race the Arenacross series this year I thought he was using it as practice for Foxhall!
-
Fair play to Poole they have put together the strongest team. As long as they don’t have any major injuries especially to the reserves they will take some beating. Big favourites to clean up but whoever signed Cooper was going to be.
-
Like when certain Ipswich fans were demanding teams moved up and were going to lose tons of money just to keep the failing premiership going? Were those Ipswich fans going to cover the costs of that team? I don’t think so, so it’s a stupid thing to say about an individual covering costs. I agree it’s his right to do but would he have been selling up if he got what he wanted? He would have been happy if we had another sacrificial lamb in the top flight. Last year’s premiership was basically a 5 team league as Oxford and Birmingham were so uncompetitive it’s not really changed that much. We even had an Ipswich fan on here having a pop at Plymouth because they didn’t win a trophy so the season was unsuccessful. That club had a great season imo as they got bigger crowds and the feel good factor returned.
-
Or premiership promoters who throw out the toys when they don’t get there way.
-
Spot on and that is why Poole will be hard to beat next season.
-
Maybe you shouldn’t be stalking a minor on social media.
-
But most of the top riders aren’t riding here, Oxford, Kings Lynn and Birmingham couldn’t get one last year. Now Emil has gone we are left with the two at Belle Vue and Doyle, Holder and Fricke and that’s if they all stay. if these clubs come to the tapes in 2027 in the top tier where are the riders coming from?

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
Tim G replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
But it’s blindingly obvious the premier league is unsustainable in it”s current guise so why force someone to go up if it can mean the end of a track. You only have to look at Oxford and see the damaged done by being in the top flight and then you here about losses made at other tracks and it’s bloody scary. British speedway needs to cut it’s cloth and run at a level that is sustainable and if it means the top boys don’t return and even some of the lesser riders go then so be it. -
Nice of you to describe yourself in your post, you really are pathetic.
-
Well there seem to be a load of happy Sheffield Wednesday fans at the moment and they are certain to be relegated along with having a poor season. Sometimes sport is not about winning. i also know plenty of Reading fans that were not that upset about being relegated as it helped changed the direction of the club. So there’s two for you. I expect a team like Plymouth, not running at a big loss and being able to come to the tapes the following season is seen as a success. Now, teams like Poole and Glasgow this is not the case. Anyway, would you have classed Plymouth winning the title and going bust a successful season?
-
So if Plymouth had stayed racing on a Tuesday, won the league with low crowds and went bust would you call that a successful season? Most teams in the premiership football league call staying up or finishing in the top 4 a successful season.

Poole v Redcar, koc 1st leg, Weds 8/10/25.
Tim G replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Spot on, same happened to Oxford last year and Poole took advantage to clean up all the trophies like they will this season. -
Polish averages are the best marker to see how a rider is performing. Unfortunately, there is no new riders under current legislation that can be brought into the series that will improve the quality of the field. It has become a borefest but crap track preparation and a rubbish scoring system do not help.
