Oxford V Poole 15/4/26 BSN 1st leg
Tim G replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
True you can. I look forward to going on the Poole thread saying how crap the track is. That’s most my Wednesday’s full up to October, thank you. -
Oxford V Poole 15/4/26 BSN 1st leg
Tim G replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Rain was guaranteed so the track was prepared slick it’s what all teams do these days. It was a poor watch but given the current conditions at the club I think supporters are happy they have a team. I don’t think a Poole fan can really talk about preparing a track for racing after the track that was deliberately prepared slick in the playoff final match against Glasgow. Racing that night was shocking on purpose and not due to iffy weather. -
I would expect a new agreement has been reached for just the speedway at a heavily reduced figure which may suit the land owners aswell. The original lease was for 15 years I believe but I could be wrong on that so the new lease for the speedway might only be short term. Gallard Homes can now say the stadium is not profitable and it will help there case to redevelop the land.

Yes it was. injuries really stopped him reaching his potential.

Redcar vs Workington, BSN Series 10/04/26
Tim G replied to Marksman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
By previous comments I think the Workington supporters are happy he isn’t riding for them. -
I think it’s more likely to get the last BSN meeting done than anything sinister against Berwick. If the BSN meeting is not run until later in the season it could screw up the whole competition.
-
I reckon you’re correct, SIS pulling out have played a blinder for Gallards.

Poole vs Plymouth BSN Good Friday 6pm 3/4/26
Tim G replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
So you were sat with loads of Poole fans who would obviously give a non bias opinion. I was sat in the grandstand last night and I couldn’t tell you who’s fault it was from that view, who knows exactly what lines the rider was racing at that time. To me it was just an unfortunate racing incident. Some Poole fans around me were moaning about the Cooper decision which was the correct one so obviously people have home bias like I do when watching Oxford. -
I expect you also said it would never reopen but you would have been wrong about that. You really are a disgusting human being gloating about this.
-
Mitch Mcdiarmaid is beating him to that accolade at Oxford tonight but it is only a challenge match. Cook can win the official meeting missing award.

Yes, brilliant entertainment this weekend. The new Sportbike category was exciting.
-
Looks like he will have his work cut out catching the Aprilia’s this season. Big weekend for him as he is the king of COTA.

Where I work one of the employees takes out one of the trucks to primary schools occasionally and comes back with all different art that the kids have done of the truck and then puts them up in the office on a board. It’s all to do with engagement rather than learning and is a good look for the company even though these kids would never had heard of us. But I’m sure when they see one of our trucks now they recognise it. Telling a young child about what a speedway bike can do and letting them sit on it will be an enjoyable experience for most and give free family tickets out to try and get them along.

SGP coverage in UK for 2026

TNT is becoming HBO max on 26th March. -
All clubs should be doing stuff like this, fair play to the promotion.
-
But still the same ridiculous price!!
-
That won’t affect what TNT do this season as the deal will need to be ratified by the US government and will still take some time to conclude. Hopefully it might be cheaper than TNT but I doubt it will change the thinking of major broadcasters to speedway in Britain.
-
Arenacross is held in an arena and supercross is held in a stadium.
-
Tyson Fury keeps saying he’s quitting aswell. Believe it when I see it.
-
I paid just under £50 last night, there were cheaper tickets available and also some more expensive. You could get a family ticket for £100. They also do numerous VIP upgrades and you can also buy a track walk package.
-
I went aswell and it really is an entertaining and enjoyable show, it’s non stop and the 3 hours go so quickly. Thought Dan was playing quite it safe when he had other riders around him but put in a good performance in his second ride.

I’m not sure now that a national marketing campaign would do much good, I think clubs need to market better in the local area to get back lost fans. My local track is Oxford, now when I buy a ticket I need to input my email address. I have never received any email from them advising me of what meetings are coming up or asking me how my experience was. They must have thousands of email addresses that they could reach out too and have so many potential customers they could contact in one easy way with offers to get them to attend again. I will say the information they supply on the WhatsApp group is very good though.

Six days apart which was the norm at Oxford due to the running in both the premiership and championship. I doubt very much the meeting being shown on BSN would have made up the difference in attendance between the two meetings. The so called big names don’t really draw people in anymore, I expect if you asked people in Manchester who Brady Kurtz is nearly everybody wouldn’t have a clue. Belle Vue have two of the best riders in the world but when looking at the empty seats on the tv matches they are hardly drawing the punters in.
-
Not always, went to Oxford v Belle Vue last season and the crowd was awful. Next match was against Plymouth and the crowd was much bigger.
-
Cook was more of a problem than Boughen. How you can blame a RS for Kings Lynn’s lack of success last season is a ridiculous statement. I’m sure you won’t be blaming Cairns if Belle Vue don’t win anything.
