Pairs and CLRC
Tim G replied to LisaColette's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I expect the pairs being held at Poole will get a much bigger crowd then if it was being held at the NSS so it’s a sensible business decision. -
Oxford vs Poole KOC QF 13/05/26 1st leg
Tim G replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Unipart, agreement has been reached to allow parking again. -
It was in the CLRC in which he was a late call up for, think he had 6 points from his first 3 rides. He was never the same rider in the playoffs after that. He was in a bit of a purple patch at the time, big score at Glasgow, top scored for the opposition in Richard Lawson’s testimonial and only dropped 1 point in two legs against Redcar in the KO cup. Got injured for Team GB against the USA at the start of the 2025 season and then it all went wrong at Kings Lynn and Glasgow as he looked shot of confidence.

Impressive, the lad has talent.

Excellent statement from the club tonight, all good news around the future of the team, car parking and Erik Riss.

Very rare a motorcycle racer will be out for 3 months with a broken collarbone. Moto GP racers have ridden the same weekend they have done the break. Would be surprised if he’s out for more than 6 weeks if it’s a straight break with no complications

He’s riding for a team that’s run by the people who run the British speedway world team cup team.

SGP coverage in UK for 2026
Tim G replied to ozsat58's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
You will need to get the app to watch all the meetings. Some meetings will be on the TNT tv channels but all meetings will be watched via the app. I’m using the app now for the Moto GP and it’s easy to navigate around. -
Moto GP has been on a break but restarts this weekend.

Oxford Cheetahs v Plymouth Gladiators 22/4/26 19:30
Tim G replied to NumberEight's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I moved after the first race to around the start line but moved back to the beginning of bend 3 after about 5 heats and you missed the dust there so it was a good watch. People will stop going if this carries on as it’s not acceptable. -
Oxford Cheetahs v Plymouth Gladiators 22/4/26 19:30
Tim G replied to NumberEight's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It might have been dusty but there was some good racing. I expect it was hard to keep moisture in the track but fans should not be covered in dust after 1 heat. -
Thanks for the reply. Hopefully a good meeting tomorrow

If no information is forthcoming before Wednesday’s meeting where is the best place to park? I used to park on the housing estate near the stadium if I couldn’t get into the stadium car park. Is this the best place still to park or is it now permit holders only?

Oxford V Poole 15/4/26 BSN 1st leg
Tim G replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
True you can. I look forward to going on the Poole thread saying how crap the track is. That’s most my Wednesday’s full up to October, thank you. -
Oxford V Poole 15/4/26 BSN 1st leg
Tim G replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Rain was guaranteed so the track was prepared slick it’s what all teams do these days. It was a poor watch but given the current conditions at the club I think supporters are happy they have a team. I don’t think a Poole fan can really talk about preparing a track for racing after the track that was deliberately prepared slick in the playoff final match against Glasgow. Racing that night was shocking on purpose and not due to iffy weather. -
I would expect a new agreement has been reached for just the speedway at a heavily reduced figure which may suit the land owners aswell. The original lease was for 15 years I believe but I could be wrong on that so the new lease for the speedway might only be short term. Gallard Homes can now say the stadium is not profitable and it will help there case to redevelop the land.

Yes it was. injuries really stopped him reaching his potential.

Redcar vs Workington, BSN Series 10/04/26
Tim G replied to Marksman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
By previous comments I think the Workington supporters are happy he isn’t riding for them. -
I think it’s more likely to get the last BSN meeting done than anything sinister against Berwick. If the BSN meeting is not run until later in the season it could screw up the whole competition.
-
I reckon you’re correct, SIS pulling out have played a blinder for Gallards.
