  1. I feel sorry for Atkins as it seems he has been punished for having a good season last year. In his interview at Plymouth on Saturday night he was saying he has hardly had any meetings and can no longer do NDL due to his average. It’s obvious he needs these meetings for confidence and bike time. I thought the NDL was about trying to progress British youngsters but sometimes a rule can hurt them. His effort and entertainment last year was first class and he deserved to be back but if Oxford want to challenge he is probably the one you would change.
  2. I believe they have a tablet at the door that you can use.
  3. Good ride by Barker in heat 13
  4. What an awful meeting, can’t believe I paid £12 for this crap. Hopefully Oxford can turn it around in 13 and 15.
  5. Totally agree, was going but not so sure now as £85 for the cheapest grandstand seat for the final is ridiculous.
  6. I’m pretty sure if Tobias Thomson had beaten some of these riders on his home track we would be hearing how he’s one of the best signings of the season. Great work by Workington to get Tate.
  7. Why not, why does it have to be in the UK like you’re demanding? If it’s only costing £1k each to attend that’s not much money and I doubt many promoters get the chance to go away during the season.
  8. Big ride by Tom, felt Poole needed a 5-1 in heat 8 to stand any chance of coming back. Shocked by how bad Poole have been so far in this final.
  9. Glasgow favourites for this but I think heat 2 could be massive. Glasgow reserves had the better of the Oxford pair in the league and if Oxford have any chance they will need to turn that around.
  10. It’s looking like a major blunder putting him in now. Big blow for Oxford and puts big pressure on the reserves.
  11. Big win for Oxford considering they were 14 points down.
  12. I went for a ride on my motorcycle through the Cotswolds on Friday, went through numerous 20mph limits and not once did I see anyone driving at that speed, everyone was still doing 30mph. Blanket 20mph limits are a ridiculous idea but if it was targeted outside schools and village centres I feel it would be a good idea.
  13. No, because I agree with you on that. But this match is at Oxford and Vissing missing is a positive for Glasgow. Do you think Vissing would score more than rider replacement?
  14. Heeps scores are pretty good at home so Oxford would be weaker using r/r. Hasn’t he already scored paid 13 at Cowley against Glasgow this season. Vissing missing for Glasgow strengthens them.
  15. Well we have a multi round individual event in Cardiff this weekend let see how many people bother going to that. The attendance is getting lower each year because people don’t seem to be so interested in individual speedway. I think you let your hatred of team speedway cloud your judgement on this one. Speedway will only survive at a very few tracks if it becomes more about the competitors rather than the spectators.
  16. So what you are saying is a promoter should run an individual event that nobody would care about in the log run and lose money whilst doing it. You will have them queuing up to showcase one of these events. Why would a tv audience be more interested in this than they are league racing?
  17. So it’s not in Poole’s hands but Oxford’s
  18. BSB at Brands Hatch next weekend will definitely be in the top 20 attended sporting events in this country but the media is not interested in motorbike racing. When Carl Fogarty was at his peak drawing massive crowds in WSB he was hardly mentioned in the MSM. Wins a crap celebrity event and they are all over him. BBC News will always show some WSL football match in the round up even though hardly anyone is in the stadium just to come across as inclusive.
  19. Overground station less than 5 minutes walk and a couple of tube stations about 15-20 minutes walk. I prefer the walk to the tube personally so I can stop and have a pint. so it’s not that bad.
  20. The best stadium in London is the Tottenham Hotspur stadium but the area is far from the best but you can see they are starting to do parts of it up. Probaly would actually be the easiest to convert to a speedway track aswell due to it having two pitches so no damage to the football pitch. 50,000 fans would be a pretty much sell out but I don’t see a speedway meeting get those sort of numbers these days. Wembley is a fantasy and too big for speedway now and I believe the London Stadium has seating removed when it’s converted for athletics so would need the same for speedway. I just cannot see how economical a speedway gp would work in a big London stadium.
  21. Silverstone is for all events not just formula 1. Oxford speedway is not the only event I am going to this year where I will pay more money to enter on the day than I would if I bought a ticket in advance. My Stepfather does MG car runs which he enters and has to pay for in advance and if the weather is rubbish he doesn’t go and loses his money, at least with the speedway you get your money back or go to another meeting. I do however think it’s stupid that you can’t pay by card on the day.
