  1. I don't think we choose the wrong guest tho. Harris has always been great value at the Green and rarely struggles so I fail to see why anyone would say he was the wrong guest. Nicholls has been average for a while now at Monmore. He scored 7 on both occasions for Rye this year compared to 7 and 9 for Bomber.
  2. Not strictly true. Freddie was unbeaten at the NSS until his dreadful crash and scored a paid maximum in the 1st leg semi. Otherwise a brilliant original post. I have worked with Keith (start marshall) several times and he is one of the most experienced in the business. Isn't he allowed a bad day just like Bomber? I'm just sick of reading goading posts on social media from Aces fans. Sorry have to disagree with you there. Thanks thecoombdog, I've really always been pretty unbiased. Glad you had a great night. You guys deserve it for a superb season. Best team over the season.
  3. we fell lucky I grant you. Will be interesting to see what the rules and regs are for 2018. All teams signed up for it so I'd imagine so. But of a farce tho with any team being allowed up if they want to tho.
  4. In fairness we did okay holding onto riders from 2016.
  5. what luck was that? ? After Aces riders took out our top 2?? Shame that the Aces fans are such poor losers. well said Orion. Just goes to show when you have 2 teams of supporters who behave themselves and have respect. I'm assuming no reports of women getting pushed over or bottles being thrown unlike with a certain other team. chomp chomp. Glad to hear both sets of fans behaved respectfully. It's a change from the last lot.
  6. I'm a little sad we sold Tobi as he clearly looks like he has progressed nicely. I'd say he has been your signing of the season.
  7. Yes it was a great 2 legs. Delighted for you and all Swindon supporters.
  8. Exactly and we'll said. With a small tight track you have to use your brains not full throttle. That's why it's such an exciting teach to watch speedway at.
  9. Congratulations to Swindon. Not at all unexpected. They rightly came to Monmore and exploited our gaping wound of missing 2 Monmore specialists. Don't think I've ever seen Bomber so poor at Wolves before, beyond shocking. Still, there isn't a guest available that could have covered for Freddie. Both meetings had a bit of everything so I'll bet BT are rubbing their hands at the drama of the 2 nights. Well done Swindon, best team all year won the big one.
  10. But close racing. Not every track has passing in every heat. Close action throughout. Like you say, each to their own.
  11. We must be watching a different meeting. Close racing in most heats so far.
  12. I take it you are a SCB official then seeing as you believe you know the rules. It's windy, of course they need the cone to keep the tapes still. Still, I guess you are an expert at incompetence seeing as you support Stoke.
  13. It's only notorious if you say every crash is due to the track. It isn't. Small tight track is likely to see more rider error.
  14. Sadly there are the few who still feel a need to justify such gross behaviour. The fb page confirms that there are some who are disgracefully behaved and happy to defend it. They appear year in year out. Thankfully this forum is witness to some very enlightened Aces fans, ignoring the obvious one we prefer to ignore.
  15. Without 2 Monmore specialists in our line up this tie is most definitely not over. Swindon will have no pressure on them now so I can still see a Swindon win. Wolves will start as favourites and no one will be expecting to say that at any point up to 7.30pm Monday night.
  16. I really hope he hasn't fallen into a huge cavern and disappeared. Still, there are several 'aliases' that can be used anyway. I agreed with the rest of the post. Just being a bit picky.
  17. You think Freddie would have scored less than 9 from 5 rides?? RR scored 7 from 4 rides, potentially the least Jacob would have got. Wolves hopefully will be able to prepare a much better race track than they were able to do last week but if any track can do it it will be the multi award winning Monmore Green circuit.
  18. no he wasn't. Swindon got gifted points there. More than happy to admit I was spectacularly wrong. And anybody who disagreed that we were capable of that is telling porkies. It's not over tho as Swindon now have nothing to lose. It's all still on then!
  19. he has certainly progressed this year. Nice to see. So glad we persevered with him. Incredible showing. Not sure if Wolves are massively fired up or the Robins have just not come to the party??
