  1. what part of it was guff?? its actually a complimentary post about Kyle which just goes to show you read only the part that suits and go on the attack. reread the post properly before you make yourself more embarrassing. I thought it was clear to anyone reading it was a good honest appraisal of Kyle. Starman in yet another don't read the whole post blunder.
  2. We seem to have a Kyle Newman debate every season. His average over the past 2 or 3 seasons hasn't greatly increased so it's hard for some to see any noticeable improvement. He clearly has got better to the extent that he is capable of beating top class riders. It's difficult to measure that against his static and slightly backwards average trend. He is a bit of a slow burner and maybe there is more to come. Time will tell. Whether he has a real break thru season or not is open to debate, I certainly wouldn't rule it out. Fact is he has mostly been a reserve for example seasons with Poole. He will really have to step his game up to make minimal improvement without easy rides at least to start with anyway. Kyle is a great honest British rider, I like him. Not every British rider can be a Woffy or a Lambert.
  3. I agree to some extent however some clubs do so show loyalty and likewise. Wolves for example have both Lindgren and Thorssell as one club only riders whilst also Woffy signed for Wolves at 16 and have nurtured him in the UK with Wolves his only EL club. Some may say that Wolves loyalty to riders has cost them more titles and to an extent that may well be true.
  4. Which ones? It's good there is talent filtering through tho. copied from Scunthorpe amateur Facebook page. Sunday's report and standings - Kinsley & Hitchen continue to impress Last Sunday (18th December) the second round of Scunthorpe Speedway’s Winter Series for adult speedway classes saw two teenagers dominate the top two classes by going through the card unbeaten. Kinsley, who rides for King’s Lynn, raced to a 15 point maximum in the Open Class to add to his first round victory whilst 16-year old James Hitchen, from Cumbria, won all six of his races in the Support Class. Just two years ago Hitchen was racing in the youth 125/150 class and a year ago he was defeating Chris Hay and Ryan Burton in one of his first Novice Class meetings. Admittedly Hay and Burton had only just switched to speedway before going on to become National League regulars but a year on and Hitchen was also looking quick and assured on a tricky track. After the meeting he declared “It was good to take the lead of the Support Class series and hopefully I can stay in this position to the end with some more good finishes in the remaining rounds. Hopefully by the end of the winter Series I will be ready to step up to the Open Class but there is still work to be done before I am ready. “The meeting was extremely enjoyable and there was some great races with Gavin Parr. Races like we had are always enjoyable and rewarding against someone you respect on a tough track”. When asked about the prospect of riding in the National League he said “I have my GCSEs so plan on focusing on those. Maybe in the last half of the year if something comes up I will get some rides but if not I will just go for 2018 on a 3.00 average when I will hopefully be really ready”. The other two classes on Sunday were won by riders at different ends of their careers. Callum Foy, another teenage rider from Cumbria, won the Novice Class in only his second meeting whilst the fourth class was won by Gary O’Hare, who at 51, was nearly as old as the three other class winners added together. It was his 14th upright class victory in the last 19 months to add to the four he had in the Open Class between 2009 and 2013. Afterwards meeting organiser Richard Hollingsworth said “It just goes to show speedway is for riders of all ages. In fact we had Mick Skinner who turns 60 in April competing in his first Open Class meeting at Scunthorpe and he was excellent. I remember looking at his first race when he was up against Liam Carr and Scott Campos and thought that was a tough start for him. He led from the tapes and the other two had to work really hard to get past him. He did it time and time again and got some impressive scalps. As far as I’m aware he has no league experience at all so whilst it wouldn’t be bringing on a British youngster I’m sure he could step in and score quite a few points in the National League. “We had riders of all ages in each class and it is great to see. The track was tricky today but there was also some great racing. It was the last meeting of the year and we have tried to run nineteen through 2016. Five were victim to the weather (three last winter, one in the summer and one this winter) so we managed to run 14 and have had over 300 different riders enter. It has been a great year but the challenge is now to try and improve on it in 2017. We could really do with some new blood to help run them and if anyone is interested them they would only be too welcome.” The next round of meetings are on the 8th January for the Flat Track, Pit Bike, Road Bike, Quad Bike and Youth Speedway classes and the 15th January for the Adult Speedway classes (Open, Support, Novice and Upright). Bookings can be made by texting Hollingsworth on 07832-402167. 5. Brady and Jack I don't think will achieve what Chris and Darcy have. I guess time will tell. Brady did a decent job in his 1st full top flight season but went missing like the majority of the 1-5 in the play offs. I can't see much improvement on that starting average.
  6. Yes it is my opinion and echoed by others. You are also entitled to that opinion and no surprise it's the same as last season. In fairness more shared your view on the 2016 starting team. At the moment the Stars look the team to beat so far.
  7. And in other news most people are rating wolves a top 4 side.
  8. You clearly have never been to Buxton because the Stock car stadium is a separate business and a separate stadium.
  9. No point in wanting something you can't have. I want all the top boys here too but that's not going to happen either is it. I'd love a top 3 of Woffy, Freddie and Lambert. That would be awesome. Not going to happen tho.
  10. As previously stated Lambert would be first name down on any team I supported.
  11. Half a point difference between Hans 6.91 and Lambert 6.48 on away averages. so not a great deal in it making Lambert decent on most away tracks.
  12. Coventry look stand out. Poole next mostly because of Klindt alone. ditto the Stars until we know who the 2nd reserve is. Somerset, in Allen have potential. Whilst the rest are much similar. I think people forget the huge progress made by Clegg in the 2nd half of the season. Still a bit of an issue on away tracks but as a huge sceptic even I have seen a big growth from start to end season. The overall product, without a question. We started with very similar weak draft riders 3 seasons ago and have helped some move into main team places so maybe this is the start of another generation coming thru. Much rather watch British lads struggling and possibly progressing than do what the championship (old PL) do and use totally pointless foreign wasters in reserve.
  13. No achieved average from last season in the PL so will it be 2 or his previous PL average?
  14. In fairness quite a few similar number 7's so if he can score 2 or 3 it will be job done.
  15. Most ASSUMED it was Adam, there is a difference to "I know something you don't". As it turned out you didn't. Quel dommage Daz.
  16. you had us down as fodder last year and we all know how that turned out. Your posts regards Wolves are getting predictable and that's why it's dull. on paper it's easy to see why this will be a rated top 4 team. Something sadly your posts lack , truth wise I meant. Apparently Schlein was due to sign. Well we can't rely on you to give us a honest answer, you never know which alias to use on a daily basis can you Daz? Most people with common sense knew it would be Adam.
  17. And that you lost to the better team of course.
  18. Like you seem to be saying about every other team other than Poole. Predictably dull response.
  19. so you have mentioned at least 11 times on this thread already. Nobody believes you and you got a guess wrong. Deal with it. I will do you a favour tho Daz, I will ask CVS if Schlein was being seriously considered at the pre season talk in in March and will post his honest answer. We know he was being considered on that average but Adam was always favourite for the job - as has been expected with the news today. I agree, clarity would be a transparent explanation! I'm still laughing at your prediction gone wrong excuses still.
  20. Neither entitled tho are they? Thought it was only for 3 years after leaving the NL was the new rule??
  21. CVS confirmed his average was reassessed but didn't say why. I'm happy it's Adam and when you look at other possible combinations and riders available to me if sics no brainer. yet to be convinced by Greaves and I agree away from home an iffy bottom 3. We all knew it was total nonsense and thankfully it's been confirmed. Thanks Daz.
  22. That was certainly my thinking. The success story is always built on great reserves and Birmingham have been blessed for 2 seasons. I can't really see any brand new 3 pointers that will match the same impact as the previous 2 seasons. That said I've great memories of watching the developing careers of 3 greats riders for the future. Part of the appeal of the NL to me is watching the kids develop. Time will tell if I get 3 years of new talent on the trot!
