  1. Also can’t see him doing a full season in the UK as well, although in fairness he was one of only a handful that stayed when others left (along with Doyle, Freddie, Zagar) in most recent seasons.
  2. Could have been costly tho if you lost that meeting to Swindon so that one meeting seemed a vital one! Id agree we won’t know what might have happened without the changes however my only take on that is that Ippo seemed out of form going into the play offs which is never a good thing. The Iversen factor may have changed belief and the victory over Poole seems to back that up. But the reality is we don’t know what might have happened without the changes.
  3. The changes absolutely sealed Ipswich’s place in the top 4 and final. They were in freefall until he was signed. Without him they were highly likely to miss out on the top 4. Still on a highly attractive average I can’t believe any team wouldn’t want to build a team around him. Quality number one in a poor strength league.
  4. If a choice I think he’d choose Sheffield. If this proves true.
  5. Exactly. Plus it won’t stop the whingers having something else to moan about as their default setting. Has to be preferred night racing to get the local fans back. whilst fixed night racing has cured the riders missing situation the bigger picture has seen more and more clubs close and struggle to get crowds to attend.
  6. Seems obvious that the comment by CVS is starting to come to reality. Sheffield make perfect sense to go top flight, assuming it’s been bought as well.
  7. Would be 10 as Glasgow have stated they want to move up as well.
  8. I’d imagine so yes. At least they tried tho.
  9. Apparently he said he wanted to ‘put right’ the wrongs from this year back at Wolves again. we know they all say the same so let’s see what happens.
  10. Yes of course, only Jacob lost it for the Wolves in the play offs. So basically you got it wrong. in all honesty I bet there wasn’t one person who predicted different at the start of the season.
  11. No worries both. It’s easy to forget sometimes we do get tenner meetings and value for money on offer. Rare I know.
  12. It was a £10 meeting today. I did say! Today was meant to be £10 for the 15 heats, plus the youth championship racing after with over 30 heats as well. something like 45 heats for a tenner is a bargain in anyone’s money.
  13. Surprised at this news. Only 1 makes sense. financial suicide for Berwick, Kent have a rigid curfew that often causes cancellations. Plain crazy news.
  14. Not sure why the big deal about it. A £10 meeting with another 30+ races was on paper a brilliant deal. Rain wasn’t expected and anyone who was there would know there was no way they could continue on it. It had become a skating rink really quickly. The fact the meeting was being run this late is the only issue, no point in even trying to rearrange a nothing meeting this season. Tickets honoured next season, no biggie to me.
  15. Kent? They struggle to run meetings to 15 heats with the curfew they have. Looks like no TV deal because no company will change their times to suit one club.
  16. All kids under 16 should be free with a parent.
  17. They said ticket can be used towards a meeting next season. Hopefully 10 quid off. Gotta feel for the track staff who worked hard all day for the rain to ruin it. Looking at the pictures this morning corners were still under water! 2 heats raced 4 reruns says it all.
  18. Any club that doesn’t go for a children and parent deal in the summer is beyond crazy. Get families with children is the lifeblood of all clubs.
  19. Not everyone can change work patterns just like that. The change of race night was always likely to alienate some fans who can’t make that change. Dont blame the fans who can’t attend tho.
  20. For me 1. Luke Becker - has settled into UK racing with ease and has produced some big scores. 2. Rasmus Jensen - turned Swindon from a decent side into a title winning one. Has been knocking about the 2nd tier for a few seasons now and couldn’t see what a difference he would make. Brilliant. 3. Cameron Heeps - was dreadful last season but such a different rider this year. Play offs exempt. 4. Ryan Douglas - back after a season away and stepped up big time for Leicester and made him hot property for the top flight. 5. Jordan Palin - another hot property that smashed the NL on his debut season.
  21. I hope the Panthers win this and get to the final.
  22. Well said. The likes of Kilby (Swindon/Birmingham) and Bishop (IOW) are doing a proper job of promoting. Thank god for these 2 who continue to show the dinosaurs how to promote. If every club had one of these involved at your club the sport would be dragging itself up by its laces. Kilby in particular (as I’ve worked under him at Brum) is about the most enthusiastic and nicest people you could meet.
