Polish Ekstraliga Is Flexing Its Muscles
Ghostwalker replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
Yes until a GP is rained off and the Elite League's Monday fixtures are cancelled. -
Vargarna is the first team to take a stand for Swedish speedway. Lejonen threatened to pull out of the ESS (sort of the Swedish equality to BSPA) if ESS did not lower the agreed number of Swedes from 3 to 2. Dackarna said that they didn't like the decision but still voted for it "to preserve the unity in ESS". http://www.vargarnaspeedway.se/medlemsmoten/vi-tar-stallning-for-svensk-speedway/ http://www.dagensvimmerby.se/sport/speedway/e/8012/darfor-stallde-sig-dackarnas-representant-bakom-beslutet/

Polish Ekstraliga Is Flexing Its Muscles

As said before, in this or in the other thread, the issue isn't the race days. The issue is that riders ride every day of the week and then becomes injured because they are exhausted. -

The Pzms New Two Team Rule.
Ghostwalker replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I would say that contracts are signed between "Speedway team Ltd" and "speedway rider Ltd" so technically it's the riders' companies that signs the contract. Regarding potential legal issues, those would come from the laws concerning freedom of movement and services on EU's inner market. I don't think a federation like PZM, legally, can ban riders or rather the riders' companies from riding (working) in other countries as this possible could violate the free movement laws. If you remember, FIM/BSI tried to block GP-riders from riding in both the SGP and SEC series but IIRC, they had to back down as it was against the free movement. -

For the same reason that Fim cannot prevent GP-riders from also riding in SEC. I am not an expert on EU's free movement laws but afaik you cannot prevent a company from working in other countries since that would violate those laws. I am also not sure that Pepsi or CC can ban their customers in EU from selling the competitors product. -

Who knows. I think there might be an intent but, as moomin man says, from a legal perspective it is probably not doable. Especially not with all this free movement thing in the European union. -
No that is incorrect. Smederna had two meetings at home in 2003 with higher attendance. 8353 vs the league meeting against Masarna and 88xx vs. Kaparna in the final. http://speedwayhistorik.svemo.se/2003/Report.asp?elit.FD It was before my time as a speedway fan but Smederna are supposed to have one meeting, at the old track, which were supposed to have been over 9000. The I remember the final as being 8800, 8848 I think, but Svemo figures "only" say 8626: http://speedwayhistorik.svemo.se/2003/Visa.asp?ElitF.CA VMS Elit (Vetlanda) had 8703 in their home leg of the 2005 final. http://speedwayhistorik.svemo.se/2005/Report.asp?ElitF.CD Dackarna - Västervik final leg 1 in 2007 had 8564, the second leg had 9358. http://speedwayhistorik.svemo.se/2007/Report.asp?ElitF.AJ http://speedwayhistorik.svemo.se/2007/Report.asp?ElitF.JA So that is at least 5 meetings the past 14 seasons + the ones you mentioned, so that'll make it "no better" then 8th on the list of the highest attendances. So third best attendance is just some reporter that is too lazy to check the facts before he/she posts the article.

This will hit Swedish riders very hard. They normally do Allsvenskan+Elitserien in Sweden + Poland or Denmark or England. A few like Linus Eklöf also rides in division 1. I think the limit should be two countries not two leagues. Imo this will hit the Swedish league system very hard if it becomes reality. At least Allsvenskan since many Swedish riders that currently rides in both AS and ES will have to skip AS if they also wants to ride in Poland or Denmark or England. -

Not hard for the speedway fans who live in the region. 2 hours by car from speedway cities like Norrköping and Motala and even less for most of the speedway fans in Småland. I think the issue is that Skavsta airport and Nyköping city does not have that great connections since it is only served by Ryanair and Wizzair. It is only a 2 hour drive by car from Skavsta to Västervik. You could fly to Arlanda instead and it will hardly take longer time to get to Västervik by public transport then from Skavsta. -
Nasa was way wrong, at least for Sweden. This season in Elitserien there has been 0 postponed meetings and I think Allsvenskan only had one. I don't think this have ever happened before in Swedish speedway,

it's on the southern east coast. https://www.google.com/maps/place/V%C3%A4stervik,+Sverige/@57.9500424,16.2071823,8.46z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x465842418a72d1d9:0x66d4694b77bbf5ba!8m2!3d57.7577156!4d16.6369759 I think flying to Nyköping-Skavsta would be the most suitable but then it is another 4 hour journey by bus or train from the airport to Västervik. Track is pretty descent, the track have improved since they re-laid it for this season, -

Västervik is negotiating to return as a swc host. http://mobil.vt.se/sport/speedway/elitserien-har-sparat-ur-tyvarr-om4313349.aspx (towards the end).
