  1. Interview: http://ekuriren.se/sport/1.4408491-jerker-blir-ny-lagledare-i-smederna-det-ar-speciellt
  2. This will hit Swedish riders very hard. They normally do Allsvenskan+Elitserien in Sweden + Poland or Denmark or England. A few like Linus Eklöf also rides in division 1. I think the limit should be two countries not two leagues. Imo this will hit the Swedish league system very hard if it becomes reality. At least Allsvenskan since many Swedish riders that currently rides in both AS and ES will have to skip AS if they also wants to ride in Poland or Denmark or England.
  3. Jerker Eriksson is the new team manager for Smederna. He will share the responsibility with Stefan Jarl. They have worked together before when they were team managers for Smederna's Allsvenskan team called Team Bikab. http://eskilstunasmederna.se/jerker-eriksson-ny-lagledare/
  4. Not hard for the speedway fans who live in the region. 2 hours by car from speedway cities like Norrköping and Motala and even less for most of the speedway fans in Småland. I think the issue is that Skavsta airport and Nyköping city does not have that great connections since it is only served by Ryanair and Wizzair. It is only a 2 hour drive by car from Skavsta to Västervik. You could fly to Arlanda instead and it will hardly take longer time to get to Västervik by public transport then from Skavsta.
  5. Nasa was way wrong, at least for Sweden. This season in Elitserien there has been 0 postponed meetings and I think Allsvenskan only had one. I don't think this have ever happened before in Swedish speedway,
  6. A large rain system moved over the the night and morning but it has passed now so it should not be any problems for tonight.
  7. it's on the southern east coast. https://www.google.com/maps/place/V%C3%A4stervik,+Sverige/@57.9500424,16.2071823,8.46z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x465842418a72d1d9:0x66d4694b77bbf5ba!8m2!3d57.7577156!4d16.6369759 I think flying to Nyköping-Skavsta would be the most suitable but then it is another 4 hour journey by bus or train from the airport to Västervik. Track is pretty descent, the track have improved since they re-laid it for this season,
  8. Västervik is negotiating to return as a swc host. http://mobil.vt.se/sport/speedway/elitserien-har-sparat-ur-tyvarr-om4313349.aspx (towards the end).
  9. Västervik's motivation as to why they declined the promotion to Elitserien. http://mobil.vt.se/sport/speedway/elitserien-har-sparat-ur-tyvarr-om4313349.aspx
  10. Västervik have declined to take the step up to Elitserien. Smederna have been offered and accepted Västervik's place in Elitserien. http://ekuriren.se/sport/1.4400665-klart-smederna-kor-i-elitserien-nasta-sasong
  11. No, the rules changed a few years ago and anyone that finishes top 8 will count as top 8 regardless if they are a reserve or not.
  12. Possible, I wouldn't mind if they tried Tele 2 arena for a year though. Friends arena is way too big and T2 is only around 30K capacity wise. it is also easier to access, lots of parking in the area as well as a subway station very close. Probably won't do a major difference but perhaps better then Friends arena.
  13. Yeah Stockholm Olympic stadium, it's a no go nowadays though since they get new running tracks and it is not allowed to cover them with dirt.
  14. My guess is that: It's too expensive Far from good enough racing (especially in relation to the ticket price). No Swedes in top contention. Traffic in the area around the arena is a mess. Limited or non existent possibilities to travel by car. There is a commuter train but it is still a fair walk to the arena. No established speedway club in Stockholm Stockholm has allot of other things to offer. Swedes care about football and icehockey, rest of the sports are pretty small in exposure and attendance. (Swedish rally championship being the exception when it comes to attendance). People have better things to do on a Saturday evening.
  15. Nah, capacity with all levels is about 50 000. Level 1 capacity is 22 000 for footboll but not all that capacity is available for speedway for safety reasons. So my guess (from watching tv) is maybe 12-14 000 somewhere. Still awful though,
  16. If Lindbäck continues like this, Lindgren will overtake him, Bjerre will be in and Lindbäck will be in a need of a wild card.

  18. Sensible decision. I agree, AJ could have taken this decision a week ago.
