  1. Not "more" then any other speedway rider. Andreas Jonsson intends to ride at Stockholm next week. Imo I think there should be stricter rules when it comes to unfit riders. A rider that is not fit is a danger to both him/herself and to others but they are still allowed to ride. There have been allot of flack and talk about "dirty rider" but imo riders that hardly can hold on to the bike is just as bad if not worse.
  2. RPNYC, staging a GP in USA is a pretyy big gamble so FIM/BSI won't do anything unless there is a local promoter willing to take the risk.
  3. Ullevi have never been a good venue or track. Too big stadium and the track had the same problems as Tammerfors had. Both were built on top an athletics track which isn't a very good shape.
  4. I don't know I haven't been watching. I haven't really had time. Havehad lots of other stuff that needs to be done. School work, lunch for tomorrow (then trying to clean the kitchen afterwards) and etc. Anyway regarding Doyle, whatever it is, it is something with the leg. He could walk but he limped heavily. So unlikely to be a major led fracture but you never know with a speedway rider. It will be Lindman instead of Doyle in heat 13 if Doyle can't ride. I think Fricke can't ride anymore, 6 heats is or have been max amount of heats for reserve. Anyway regardless of the result, it will be Dackarna-Rospiggarna in the final. Note sure that Fricke should have been allowed in that heat. A rider are allowed to do 6 heats but can be allowed to do 7 if they are used as a RR sub but to reach 7 heats the also have to be used as a tac sub. The latter is not the case so Fricke have one heat too much I think.
  5. AJ seems to believe that he will be fit enough for Stockholm GP. http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/5214/aj-plans-stockholm-sgp-comeback I think he should give it a miss, the last thing we need is a non healthy rider causing problems for the others.
  6. Link to source for lineup http://www.jv.dk/artikel/2381050:Sport--Se-det-lige-her--Saadan-stiller-klubberne-op-i-superfinalen-i-speedway In RR's post above the sunglass smilies are supposed to be Bs. Final starts at 18.30 Danish time which is 17.30 UK time.
  7. Perhaps start with a SEC round first to see what kind of interest there is.
  8. Actually, NL is a speedway country. Albeit a very small one with i think 2-3 active tracks. Not sure how many riders they have though.

  10. Not YT but FB. Scroll down to Sep 3rd Heat 1: https://www.facebook.com/masarna/
  11. It has been discussed to some extent before; http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=74213 http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=69422
  12. Hancock did a just as bad thing the 5 days ago when he fenced Andreas Jonsson who now is injured and will miss the rest of the season.
  13. I would think that Stockholm will keep it's end of September slot.
  14. Bah, pay attention racers, you might learn something. Yes I agree completely.
  15. Tai Woffinden have signed a two year contract with Masarna. http://www.masarna.nu/2016/09/10/tai-woffinden-klar-for-masarna/
  16. rule changes for next season have been announced: http://www.svemo.se/ImageVaultFiles/id_11285/cf_44/Beslutsprotokoll_09_Track_Racing_g-llande_regler_2.PDF The two big differences is that the average cap is restored to last season's 10.250 (42.00 with the old system) and that the point limit for tact sub is increased to 8 points. Allsvenskan will have 2xhome and 2xaway vs all teams. Division 1 and Elit-B is merged to one series and it's mandatory for all Elitserien teams to field a Div-1 team. For the rest, participation is optional. There are also demand that each Div-1 team needs to have at least one 250cc riders in each meeting.
  17. Very unlikely. TV-meetings usually start at 19.10-19.15 local time. Then add to that, longer grading intervals due to extra time for tv studio talks
  18. Final score: Esbjerg 42p, Slangerup 35, Grindsted 31 and Fjelsted 27p https://www.facebook.com/metalspeedwayleague/photos/p.1487370267956183/1487370267956183/?type=3&theater
  19. H20 Red, blue, white, yellow. Superb ride from Hougaard who fought his way up to first from last. Esbjerg have secured a place in the final. Red Esbjerg 40p Blue: Slangerup 35p Yellow: Grindsted 30p white: Fjelsted 24p Attendance is 4.119 people. Good battle between Mikkel Michelsen and Rene Bach but Mikkelsen pulled away to win heat 21 for Slangerup which means that Slangerup joins Esbjerg, Holsted and Region Varde in the Super final.
  20. Works fine. Heat 12, a very nice battle between Jensen and Jensen. Jensen won. Standings after heat 15: Esbjerg (red) 25p Slangerup 23p Grindsted 23p Fjelsted 20p Heat 16: Mikkel Michelsen (Blue) wins. So far the heats I have seen have been very good. Quite unusual for Esberg's track. Heat 18 red Iversen wins Heat 19, another win for Esbjerg. I've lost track of the score but I think Esbjerg should be pretty certain for the final now. Ok found results on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/metalspeedwayleague/photos/p.1487347781291765/1487347781291765/?type=3&theater Red Esbjerg 35 Blue: Slangerup 30p Yellow: Grindsted 29p white: Fjelsted 23 Start list the next three heats: Heat 20: Esbjerg - Patrick Hansen Slangerup - Kenneth K. Hansen Fjelsted - Patrick Hougaard Grindsted - Nicolai Klindt Heat 21: Esbjerg - Rene Bach Slangerup - Mikkel Michelsen Fjelsted - Frederik Jakobsen Grindsted Krystian Pieszcek Heat 22: Esbjerg - Niels Kristian Iversen Slangerup Speedway Klub - Andreas Lyager Fjelsted - Peter Kildemand Grindsted - Przemyslaw Pawlicki
  21. Haven and Hafen is the same word and likely originates from Proto-Germanic/habnō which originally meant "(“to take, seize, grasp”)." and then developed into harbour. However I do believe that "hagen" was the original name on the settlement (before there was a harbour) and then when a harbour was established it changed to havn from hagen but perhaps the English name was already established by then and it have then been used since?
  22. Well then say so. Hagen likely stems from the old Norse Hagi which in it's turn stems from the even older Norse word hagô. Both variants means hage (swedish) have (danish) (eng: paddock, enclosed yard). So likely/perhaps during the early days of CPH, there were some kind of enclosed yard where the merchants bough/sold their good which then have given the settlement it's name.
  23. Not entirely correct.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Da-K%C3%B8benhavn.ogg While it is spelled with a b, the b is pronounced as a p, it is the same pronunciation as the Swedish "Köping" word; like Köping, Norrköping, Linköping, Söderköping, Lidköping. It is the same reason why ph and f are usually pronounced the same way despite being spelled differently. Like Photo and foto. The same word and pronunciation but different spelling. The English "language" tends to use Latin spelling while the other Germanic languages use more "Germanic" spelling. Like F instead of Ph, T instead of Th, Ck instead of cc.... I would assume this is because England was occupied by the Romans while the most part of the Germanic speaking areas were not occupied by the Romans. Also not sure where you found an f in Göteborg? It is the first time I have seen someone claiming that there is an f in Göteborg? Copenhagen's name stems from "Køpmannæhafn" ~The merchants men harbour. So the P is entirely correct, the g is maybe some misheard pronunciation. @UK_Martin, regarding the "Nordic languages", well they are germanic languages, just like German, Dutch, English, Faroese, Frisian. Basically regional variants of the same language.
