  1. A few pics from today in case anyone's interested..... https://www.flickr.com/photos/glasgowtigersspeedway/sets/72157654463642629
  2. Got my "Hump at the Dump" DVD today, even the fact that it doesn't work in the DVD player doesn't spoil my viewing! Worth every penny just to hear the "impartial" commentary. Heat 14 and it takes to the 4th lap before it's acknowledged there's any Tigers in the race, never mind their on a 5-1. Even resorts to a bit of refereeing. Heat 15 and he's pure choking from the start! Just love it!
  3. Squeaky bum towards the end today and Ipswich deserved more. Have said it before and will say it again, we seem to have an issue with killing meetings off at home when we have a lead. Thought we missed James today, and perhaps today was an indication of things to come once he returns and is in the main body of the team.
  4. Exactly. Gentlemans agreement or no gentlemans agreement, it's morally wrong. It cheats the public, prevents riders from earning and also cheats the other teams in the league. What if Glasgow hadn't used a guest, Scunthorpe won and then got 6th place in the league by a point. How would the team finishing 7th have felt missing out on a play off place? Maybe we'll hear more at today's meeting?
  5. Yeah of course. I try to make a contribution to BSF, you should try it yourself some time.
  6. Appreciate I might be seen by others as being biased, but a genuinely neutral view on this, and for any other time/club who act similarly. Surely the ultimate job of promoters is to have as many riders racing as possible to entertain the public? Not restricting who should had shouldn't appear? Short changing your customers ... not good business practice. And yes I appreciate it depends on folk's interpretation of the word "entertain", because for some that means winning. And yes I know some may call me naive, but I'm not talking about whether or not it happens.
  7. Here we go, just saved the cost of a winter conference in Tenerife. The new rule. This rule supersedes previous ones. Please delete them. (That's the button that says "Delete") Before the tapes go up, sit f4ckin' still - no fidgeting Don't even think about rolling - this applies especially to you two - Sarjeant & Cook When some numpty ignores this and there's a false start As soon as red lights come on, pull in clutch Sit on yer arse Do not stop engine Then, like a four year old learning to ride a bike, put feet on ground I said .... "Sit on yer arse!" Good! Now move one in foot in front of the other and push bike back to start line It goes without saying, you choose the shortest round back to start line Do not pass go, do not collect £200. Job done!
  8. Exactly. You had plenty of time to get your bike ready before the false start. My God, it's only been 2 minutes since you left the pits. I can't see a justifiable reason for it. Unless of course it's as case of: 1. OCD 2. "Missing you already" 3. This is Possil, I need to check my wallet and/or brown envelope is still in the pits. Get on with the racing!!!
  9. Thanks. It wasn't that heat. Can't remember for the life of me which one it was.
  10. James got a flyer in one heat and all 4 pulled back. From where I was standing he wasn't moving prior. Maybe his history coming back to haunt him?
  11. Awh no FB, please don't feed me lines like that. Can't resist ... Harkess heroes are tossers Chumps caned by Cookie the chimp.
  12. Must have paid our bill this month, all loaded now. Apologies there's not more ... had two newbies today and spent most of my time trying to explain the rules of our wonderful sport! As one said ... "So they just make them us as they go along then!" Felt myself inwardly agreeing.
  13. A few pics from Heat 13 Lawson/Cook. Not saying for one minute the start was the reason for their after heat "discussions", though it was the only thing I saw during the race of any contention. Cook lined up on edge of his position next to Lawson. More meeting pics to follow overnight as broadband here is so sloooooooowwwwwwww. https://www.flickr.com/photos/glasgowtigersspeedway/sets/72157654565631421
  14. Ignore him Paul, he never says anything of any worth to respond to. Always on the wind up. Just trying to get some street cred with his pals probably.
  15. Too many of our riders just don't now how to pass from the back at Cashfield.
  16. Ah well, the tapes worked today. That and Rich Lawson's form the only positives from a Tiger's point of view. Can't take anything away from the Monarchs .. they bounced back from Friday night and out gated and out fought us. Perhaps Facecook taking it a bit too far though. With a guest for No1 rider and R/R for another it was always going to need our guys to dig deep and I'm afraid to say some just didn't turn up. Congrats to Edinburgh and enjoy your win. Youngy ... all I'd say in reply, is that you're used to beating us at Cashfield regularly (justifiably) but for a wee team like us to beat the Champions and some of their smug supporters (not yourself nor most on here) on their own trick track means much more to us than your win today will ever mean to a smug. No matter what happens between our teams in the future we'll still always have ... THE HUMP AT THE DUMP!!
  17. Glasgow's actions that night were indefensible. I was there and honestly, the Glasgow fans were raging! Like everyone else, we'd paid good money that night. But of course it comes up in Derby time banter, as does Burgergate, and long may the banter continue!
