  1. What a fabulous night for all involved in Glasgow speedway. Only now is my adrenaline level coming back to normal. To think we've spent the last few close seasons wondering if we're going to run and now we have a stadium and team to be proud of. Can we ever thank enough all those involved in making this happen? Speedway is now a big sport in Glasgow again ... a return to the good old days. I suspect this is only the start of something much bigger ... nothing would surprise me now. As for our team, pre-match nowadays when I look down the heats I see strength in each race. Young guys. Hungry. Never say die attitude. Loads of potential for personal growth. Great to support. To the meeting ... The new stadium entrance is superb - how long before it needs to be increased in size? The shop location is ideal - I've spent more on tat in the last 4 meetings than the all previous seasons put together - how many pens do you need? No doubt I'll buy another next meeting. The crowd - jesus, what an attendance and full of enthusiasm. The atmosphere in the crowd was awesome and shows that a Glasgow public will respond if you dish up the right package. The track - Looked superb. After attending so many meetings, only now that I've seen it on TV can I really appreciate the 3rd and 4th bend issues. And doesn't that banking look brilliant. The promotion have had much criticism over it in the past. Now we can see it was the right decision, just not executed right before this season. Two track records - the first in the rain let's not forget. The second in heat 5 by a kid! Josh G in heat 11 - awesome ride! Have watched the Bates/Konopka incident several times now. Would ask anyone who thinks Konopka was at fault what would you do in the same circumstances? You're holding your line, a rider appears from the left in your vision and you've got the fence close on your right? If you think you could have avoided it, don't waste your time on here - fulfil your potential quick, get on a bike and get into the GPs pronto! Josh Bates - Thanks for the 'afters' entertainment, what was that - air guitar or air boxing? Comedy genius! Credit to the other 13 riders for putting on a show - great racing, loads of wheelies - a good show kept the crowd happy. Special mention - Andre Compton - good to see your confidence back. Brilliant night. In a word - 'pure entertainment'!
  2. Glasgow Tigers v Sheffield Tigers Live SKY TV Meeting 12th May 2015 https://www.flickr.com/photos/glasgowtigersspeedway/
  3. Some pics from last night's meeting hopefully giving a flavour for the whole event ... https://www.flickr.com/photos/glasgowtigersspeedway/
  4. Same in English as Scottish .... Meeting OAN!
  5. Hope the tapes work tonight! That's the rain off now at Cashfield. Only other shower due is the one from the East .... A couple of Minions.
  6. They don't need to, Tigers fans are a knowledgable bunch and knew it already. It's not Minion standards here!
  7. Keep Calm and Carry on Stirring! Hopefully a shedful as they can afford it. Shouldn't you be out in the street just now rattling your "penny for the promotion" tin?
  8. I would go early though Fromafar. You enquired before about parking near the stadium, so if you are taking the car, parking could well be at a premium as it's fairly difficult on a normal Sunday meeting never mind this one.
  9. Weather looking better for tomorrow, just hope the showers are small ones, especially the one at 6pm. So looking forward to seeing a packed out Ashfield! http://www.accuweather.com/en/gb/glasgow/g22-6/hourly-weather-forecast/46016_pc?hour=41
  10. Mr B! Please don't feed me lines like that, you are such a tease!
  11. #devastedI can go off people. If you do us a favour next Saturday against Hibs I might forgive you.
  12. If it helps, I was thinking of you all on Friday night when we were partying!
  13. Lying by the pool with a beer in Portugal and getting paid to do it, how's Armadale?
  14. C'mon Comets, nice wee victory against the Soap Dodgers!
  15. Fingers crossed for a great nights entertainment for both sets of fans, a safe one for the riders and a Tigers victory!
  16. Really? Funnily enough you brush it off without even knowing what was said. Some of the Monarchs on here are ones you can have banter and debate with, they know where the line is drawn and can admit their mistakes, or can be impartial when its crossed i.e. Mr Blobby, Dekker, Ekimba, Young51. Others can't. If you think it's acceptable for a 10 year old to hear grown women shout abuse that's your standards, but not mine. FYI, amongst other things they were shouting ... "F...ing wan..er" "F...ing rapist" If you think that's acceptable then so be it. I don't. Glasgow are trying to promote speedway as a family sport ... only takes a few to undo the good work.
  17. It obviously motivates Nick, otherwise why Tweet it. BTW, do you have kids? Not particularly pleasant trying to explain to a kid what a lady is shouting to a rider! As I had to do with a 10 year old first meeting. Social responsibility? Family sport? Etc.
  18. There is definitely something there. It'll click into place one day.
  19. No. And that comes from someone with a lot more practice of bad meetings than you have!
