  1. One good thing ahead of tomorrow ... at least we know Glasgow have sold their starting gate to Warsaw.
  2. I'd agree. Heat leaders not showing early doors the home track dominance expected. Still, early days. Wish I shared your view. Masters looked very comfortable around Ashfield guesting for Bandits. And Cook is Cook.
  3. We're going to need all 7 riders firing on all cylinders tomorrow to stand any chance. Edge of the seat feeling tonight.
  4. What's it like? Say anything about the Monarchs other than the King's clothes look wonderful and you can almost hear them scurrying to their keyboards in a mass panic to defend their oh so perfect club. Feel sorry for them, they've lost the ability to think as individuals. Bit creepy. It's like the Stepford Wives!
  5. For years I've parked across from the stadium in Walnut Road. Never had nor seen any problems. Usually on a Sunday afternoon there's folks out doing their gardens.
  6. The countdown has started to the most passionate derby meeting in British speedway. Monarchs fans boast their team are the current holders of the Premier Trophy, Premier League, the Knock Out Cup and Premier League Pairs. Even though their website obviously doesn't think any of this is important enough to record!. Monarchs are the clear favourites for this one. Collectively they have more experience and knowledge of the Ashfield circuit. The home team are still getting to grips with it and experimenting with their riding order. Tigers are the new kids on the block. It's David v Goliath. Monarchs have everything to lose. It would be a major shock if they didn't take all the points. The pressure is on them. Tigers currently sit at the top of the Border Section of the League Cup table, Monarchs second. For once, there's more to this one than bragging rights. Assuming no injuries before Sunday, the team's should line up: Tigers: 1. Richard "Who's Chris Holder" Lawson 2. Kozza Smith 3. Aaron Summers 4. Dimitri Berge 5. Nick Morris 6. Victor Palovaraa 7. James Sarjeant Monarchs 1. Craig "It's all gone quiet on Facebook" Cook 2. Justin Sedgmen 3. Kevin Wolberts 4. Erik RIss 5. Sam Masters 6. Max Clegg 7. Rob Branford The big questions to be answered: Will the Tiger's reserves continue their progress and contribute more then their opposite numbers? Who'll come out top in the clashes between the team's two top riders - Lawson and Masters? Will Cook complain about the track? Will Mothercare sell out of dummies? Have UPS delivered Two Kevs two new engines? Is that one engine for each Kev? Will any Monarchs fans turn up? What faults will they find this time with Scotland's premier speedway venue? Will they understand what H and C means on the toilet taps? Will the tapes work? Are the Tigers up to the task? All will be answered on Sunday.
  7. Given Edinburgh's financial plight, can they afford to run up 60 point wins?
  8. Sorry to hear about Matic. Looked like an entertaining and exciting rider at Ashfield.
  9. Thanks for that jenga I'm conscious of trying to portay a balanced view of the meeting. Not always successful, just depends on what turns out. Appreciate the comments.

  12. Took your advice mate and have just arrived at Scotland's premier speedway venue. The Peugeot Ashfield Stadium ... Carlsberg don't do speedway stadiums but if they did ...
  13. Thanks for that Gaz, I'm in two minds partly because of the weather. Wish we had a micro climate like the oh, so perfect Minions.
  14. I thought he was behaving himself these days.
  15. Berwick were good last week at Glasgow and that was without Barker. So are we being fair to the riders?
