  1. Did Andrew Silver ever make snowboard world champion? I know he was pretty well up there with the worlds best at the time..
  2. Best of luck in all ways.......
  3. Bad move Corny -try taking a day to read the other 4000 posts on that this weekend.
  4. Middlo, You dont have to explain to us lot at all, we all feel your pain. It happened and we feel it too-The lads did us proud as far as they could but it wasnt to be cos of a certain person and im sure your friend Nick is saying for dingly dangly sake get over it Neil he is probably even smiling down and laughing at us all after Saturday thinking blimey mate never mind win it and watched heat 15 laughing and clapping so....... You and the lads did us all proud mate-stop beating yourself up about it please. One day........
  5. It's not clear imo. You are led to believe this because Tatum says it is happening. I most certainly am not mate! Basic motor cycle throttle action-you basically twist the throttle up towards you anti clockwise to accelerate and twist it downwards and away from you to cut the throttle which is what Hans did. Kelvin did that at Exeter and said if them guys want to kill themselves then fine let them-I aint riding near the fence *allegedly*
  6. The guy shut off--its there on camera.Anyone would take defeat sure but he shut off simple as that-and then lied. The shutting off is one thing-the lying is another.
  7. Absolutely. One man spoiled everyones enjoyment no matter which country -cheers Hans you done well mate -Hope you can live with it-You know it -we know it-not making a bonified effort to race and then lying. You wanna grow up mate you really do-you are a RACER try remembering that. You personally spoilt it for thousands all over the world-and I never had a problem with you before tonight.-You are pathetic mate to be honest. Im going to bed as going to Carmarthen tomorrow to see the under 15s and I sure as hell know they will be more professional than you mate--and a breath of fresh air
  8. You were more prominent than the ref and Hans Anderson mate and Shovlars attempts to say all seats were full on temporary grandstands-must have been a mass rush to the loo as the camera panned around-counted 95 empty seats --was very quick but mid screen.
  9. And you were on the telly mate as well--Think Im the only one to have spotted you though.... Check your video--just before the presentations--I said Dingly Dangly me Craig Thats Bl***y dingly dangly Crazy sue!!!!!!!!!
  10. Team GB were lucky to be in the position they were in going into the final heat due to dubious refreeing decisions that this time went our way. Its happened before and it will happen again and we will be on the wrong end of such decisions in the future--also with mistakes regarding red lights--as we have in the past.. We shouldnt have been in the possible winning position but we were as has happened to other nations before--Unlucky and Lucky tends to even itself out over time as most speedway fans know and accept--but blatent cheating and then lying in the last race of the world final is just plain ridiculous and possibly has done any credibility the sport had left to newcomers untold harm. Diego Maradonna-The hand of God Hans Anderson-The hand that forgot how to keep the throttle going and wouldnt have looked out of place with a rear view mirror. No matter what anyone says the week has been brilliant and after all those heats and miles people have travelled -Hans Anderson was the one person who denied the speedway world a verdict that all were waiting with baited breath to see. Cheers Hans--Hope you are very proud of what you did tonight-I bet you have even convinced yourself you were right -spoiling it for thousands..Cos thats exactly what you did -100 heats of racing over a week and the final race on the final night to decide the world cup comes down to you shutting off and then lying--maybe if you had agreed in the interview why you did it would have made it more palatable but you didnt--you blatantly lied to everyone that pays your wages...Best of luck in the future-call yourself a speedway rider-you should be ashamed but no doubt you arent.....
  11. Congratulations Sweden -and did anyone else through the tears they were shedding spot Crazy Sue live on Sky just before the presentation She gets everywhere that one....
  12. Sky coverage starts at 7PM british time-so would imagine 7.15 or 7.30 at the latest.
  13. Come on Team GB-Give us something to smile about-You CAN do it. Myself and Mini Nevs are brushing down our penguin suits ready for Buckingham Palace presentations as we speak. Just a shame that when you win it will be in England as the Sky live coverage of Shazzy,Norbold,Gemini, Pawprint,Sandman , Lunchy and SCB greeting you at the arrivals lounge at the airport victorious would have been something else
  14. Looks pretty sold out(not) judging by the lack of empty seats on bend two!!!!!!!!!!!! I think somebody has been feeding us porkie pies.......
  15. I shall be sat at home watching it on Sky unfortunately now and from behind the sofa on me knees so I can hardly see the telly to truly appreciate what you are going through Sue Anyway, time will tell and Im sure Sue will give us an honest view when she gets back--and theres no way Benfield can say the internet thread about viewing has put people off buying tickets cos they were almost sold out months ago anyway werent they? Would maybe a couple of raised terraces at standing prices not have been an option instead of seating if they make such things? Could have got more people in and at lower prices surely-Just an Idea-They do it at Crufts so I heard. And I want to make this very clear-- this isnt a dig at Poole Speedway--its a dig at organisations that take a few of us as mugs--and if it all goes swimmingly I will be the first to come on here, hold my hands up and apologise unreservedly for my umm pre conceived views and statements before the event.
  16. Judging by possible views about standing and what you will see unless you get there early Id forget the campsite-- Get yourself down to the track and pitch your tent on the first bend by this Sunday.Should see something then. Happy to help. Sorry--Welcome aboard the forum Dave .
  17. Sure there will be if there is a texter at Vojens--Im assuming you aint going to be there with a mobile!!! Will ask the question.. Blimey we only got all next weeks fixtures up today to debate whos covering what from the speedway star--56 possible meetings and thats just the UK and someone always wants more two weeks in advance .. If anyones going to Vojens with a mobile Holler now.But may already be covered anyway
  18. Would it possibly not have been helpful for people to have this type of info when we were all being informed of what a wonderful venue it was and how the tickets were great value for money??? "From what I can gather" Come on Steve you seem to know what the whole of Poole speedway is up to inside out and now you can only"gather"where people that bought the cheap tickets may possibly be located. Im gathering they wont see very much at all!!!!!!!!--And yes I have been there when Exeter were a visiting and it wasnt a huge crowd but still could see B**ger all Rip off for the price for families who mainly have small people with them and can least afford decent seats for them all..... But having just reread your post at least you were honest--I apologise.
  19. A number at Exeter (not because of the track I hasten to say)... Mark Simmonds flying over the fence, over the crowd!!,over the first bend banking and landing in the lane behind a load of houses.I believe it was Bob and Mike Coles that helped get him back with help from ladders??Broken Pelvis and reruns battery on camera packing up so never to be seen (Thank goodness)...Horrendous. Also Andy Sell skimming across the top of the steel fence on his stomach...Ouch Robert Nagy taking a huge one on the fourth bend. Mark Lemon and Pete Jeffery becoming entangled rather nastily on entrance to third bend. An away reserve (cant remember who it was now) going ovet the fence in the middle of third and 4th bend smashing through the two metre wooden exclusion fence. Bruce Cribbs bike flying over the fence (Had never seen such a thing before) Richard R Knight on second bend head butting the track backwards after flipping over. Richard Greens bike going out of control on its back wheeland chasing anything and everything that moved after he came off. Boyce breaking his thigh against the first bend tractor gate. Graeme Gordon and Kelvin Tatum before first bend resulting in Kelvins thigh being broken. Its amazing how vivid they all seem and how people remember such things but you never forget them.
  20. Thanks for the replies
  21. Cardiff Coverage was Weds 23rd June 3.45AM!!!!-unless they are repeating it on Sunday!
  22. Whatever happened to "The Mad butcher of Zurich"? Was hyped up for when he attended a Telford event--Strange goggles/tear off affair. Seemed a bit of a nutter but a character and I believe Exeter were trying to sign him and think he even made one appearance at The County Ground the day after Telford, but think it was overshadowed as it may have been the same week we were in talks with Gollob about signing him as well at Telford. It was on the cards so dont mock-Who owns Loramski eh? and everyone said that will never happen......
  23. Hes riding Fri night and giving practise for GP a miss and will travel back to Manchester to get an early flight to Gp according to Worky website.
  24. Fair play to Benfield-emailed them last night and just got this reply. Still cant afford it though!!! Dear Mr , Thank you for your email and your continued support of the Speedway Grand Prix Series. I have read you comments and we did take into account our young audience when pricing the tickets. We are restricted on capacity at both Eastbourne and Poole, but we still felt it important to offer concessions to children. With this in mind we priced the children's standing tickets from £9 as opposed to adult tickets which start at £15. There are concessions at all four events for children. I do believe our tickets offer very good value when you consider this is a World Cup. I hope you will be able to join us at the Speedway World Cup. Yours sincerely Paul Bellamy SGP Managing Director m: 0771 2004900 tel: 020 7578 7021 paulb@benfieldsports.com http://www.speedwayworld.tv -----Original Message----- From: John Postlethwaite Sent: Wednesday 23 June 2004 7:31 AM To: Paul Bellamy Subject: Fw: SWC-August -----Original Message----- From: To: *Benfieldsports Mail (External) <mail@benfieldsports.com> Sent: Wed Jun 23 00:03:31 2004 Subject: SWC-August Hi, I am writing to beg you to reconsider the pricing policy for tickets for the speedway world cup for families. We have followed all the grand prixs that you have organised so far and up to now has seemed a fair price. The "season ticket" price seems fair but for those of uswho are not making a week of it is totally unreasonable. Familys just cannot afford it--please dont price us out of the market. The kids are the future -its supposed to be a carnival of speedway but Im sure you will fill the venues to the rafters but there are going to be so many families that would love to be there but just cant afford it--please please please reconsider. Regards
  25. Spoke to Gordon tonight and he had an operation to replace his shoulder socket with a metal one last week He seemed in good spirits and was pleasantly surprised when someone from the ST Johns from Poole phoned him to see how he was doing. Guess he will be stopped at airport xray machines a bit more often now on his GP jaunts abroad
