  1. I've said exactly that for years. It's not the Worldy foreigners that brings the crowds in, it's home grown talent and if they're local rider's that's even better. 100% why we have to stick with the fast track system or similar with only British at reserve. Look after our own is No'1 priority
  2. Team for King's Lynn confirmed as Woffinden Harris Stead King Cook as reserve
  3. Does anyone honestly believe a 2nd GP in a substantial sized stadium would be a success? Are you really saying the attendance at the Cardiff GP wouldn't be affected? Dear oh dear. If the UK was to take on a 2nd GP it would have to be at an already established track (likely to be Belle Vue if & when built) with about 3-5,000 capacity. There is absolutely no way in any universe 2 temporary tracks with 50,000+ capacities would even be half full. It's also the same people suggesting the 2 stadium idea that in the past has battered the Cardiff GP for already being pretty much half empty. Also, with Cardiff being July, at which point of the season should the 2nd GP be held with it being open to the UK elements
  4. Have you quoted the wrong post? No complaints from me about cost but yes you're right. When a Wembley stadium event is on it's very expensive.
  5. The only spoiler yesterday was the Fanzone. Didn't even bother going into the mixer as there were far too many people in such a small area. When I met up with my sis a bit later she said that Monster tent stopped handing out drinks due to the over crowding. Everything else was perfection. Why anyone would suggest that the British GP should move to Wembley or anywhere else in fact need to visit the doctor. Cardiff is simply the Monaco of speedway and is perfectly suited to any weather conditions thrown at it.
  6. Bradford track, Millennium Stadium, in King's Lynn. Regardless of what some may deceive as a dream, I just couldn't go against my own people for love nor money
  7. How I understand it (so not very well ) is that the SEC is under the 'European FIM' and not 'The FIM' & there's been some internal wrangling between the 2 parties over it. British Speedway only recognise the official FIM but I do believe the official FIM are becoming swayed to the SEC so in the near future all riders will be competing.
  8. Man, I love Peter Kildermand all action and excitement from start to finish
  9. It's been a Rugby pitch from day 1. The 5-a-side and hockey pitches are on the outsides of the stadium
  10. And I have to say, adding to the terrific racing, Jack Burnicle & Sam Ermolenko has been very good tonight too. The whole show from start to now has been bang on
  11. Absolutely spot on yet PL fans can't get their heads round it at all. The best circuits in the UK are:- Somerset Peterborough King's Lynn Wolverhampton Scunthorpe Sheffield After that small bunch it's much of a muchness with the worst circuits beings Rye House Eastbourne Lakeside Leicester Belle Vue Edinburgh Personally, if speedway could afford it I'd put the best race tracks in the top league rather than bringing or leaving out the top riders. Doesn't matter how good a rider is, if the racing is sh!yte it will remain so at the worst tracks regardless.
  12. So is none of those but an identical Peterborough track
  13. I go with my 2 nephew's and they absolutely love the racing, they absolutely hate the bits in between. Meetings need to be sped up off track. 2 mins on, race, cruise lap, as soon as the 4 riders enter the pits, 2 mins on and repeat. Make it a regulation that track grading can only happen after every 3 heats unless the meeting referee deems the track unsafe. Us older folk may like a chat between races but the future generations need instant entertainment so we need to move the sport forward and stop fookin about and get on with it. Barring incidents and injuries, no meeting should see past 1hr 30mins
  14. To be fair to Lambert, since he's been back from the U21's he's upped his game. Gating has improved to so that may have given him the kick required.
  15. Licence issues?? I've obviously missed something here, what's that all about?
  16. Let's play a little game. Q1, Your favorite decade of speedway? (example 1971-80, 81-90 etc) A1, 1991-2000 Q2, Your age now in decade (example 11-20 yrs old, 21-30 etc) A2, 31-40
  17. Love the GP system. Very rarely is there a heat that's a dead rubber. Every GP the points accumulate to who is eventually World Champion. In a single GP the first 5 heats are qualifiers to make the semi's. It gives rider's that ain't gonna be World Champion to claim an individual meeting title. Individual titles also give rider's the chance of getting pick of they finish outside the top 8 and fail the GP Challenge. Excluding Harris, there's something in the GP series for 15 other riders and that can only be a good thing.
  18. Right, this has become very confusing. Is it FIM standard or Elite League standard??? If it isn't the former then it can't hold FIM events and shouldn't be names the National Stadium. Straight answers required, WTF is going on?!?!?
  19. If they're not willing then go knocking on Sheffield's, Peterborough's and Somerset's door and bring a couple of cracking tracks into the EL. My biggest bugbear isn't the standard of rider's but for the top British League is the number of crap prepared tracks and crap tracks to watch Speedway in general. This has contributed more IMO than having lost world class rider's. There are 10 teams in this league yet, Lakeside, Leicester, Eastbourne, Poole, Belle Vue are absolutely terrible. Swindon, Coventry needs minor changes (although the latter has improved apparently in recent weeks) Wolves, King's Lynn and Birmingham are the best prepared to give racing a chance. Bringing back the top rider's doesn't increase the standard of racing. To bring people back, they couldn't give a sh!yte what names are on the score sheets. They wouldn't know who they are, even the World Champion. If track standards increase, the racing standards increase, the more people wax lyrical about the standard of racing (hence more value for money) the more people want to check it out. It is very very simple.
  20. I was gonna say I don't like dogs but did get married 7 years ago Watched the programme twice now. Was there a down side to the Life Of Tai??? Absolutely not and what came across to me is he's a very proud Brit. But the real hero in this is his mum. A proper caring parent that has back her boy at the toughest possible moment.
  21. All I will add before going through that thread is all the fears have been laid to bed. Rider's and engine tuners have it nailed after a few years. No crashes or mechanical issues are related to the silencers at all. What we don't know is, are rider's still attacking these with drills? The reason I ask is that Eddie Kennett's form has picked up again
