  1. I've noticed the Speedway has been removed from the UK Eurosport TV schedule?????
  2. Sky's basic entertainment package is £21.50 per Month. Expensive if you're just after Eurosport.
  3. Some people are hard to please. People who say it won't work because it will be old news before it reach the shelves are talking nonsense. Almost every magazine out there is exactly the same. Playstation, Xbox, FHM, Esquire, Nuts, Fast Ford, Total Vauxhall etc etc etc all has content you can find elsewhere for free but they still sell 1000's each time. There is no reason why Inside Speedway & Speedway Star can't work side by side and maybe on odd occasions together. I recommend everybody (even Phil Rising) purchase the first addition and look for themselves before criticising something they've never seen. Week after week we hear speedway needs more coverage, promoting blah blah blah yet someone tries to move thing forward positively yet Speedway Forum members can't wait to trample all over it, brilliant - give yourselves a pat on the back. Good luck Inside Speedway & Speedway Star. Regardless of opinion of some this sport strongly needs you to survive
  4. I think the hurdles are obvious. Agreeing which riders ride for what team
  5. Someone needs to have a word with the start marshall, this thread seems to have completed more than 4 laps of the same & it's still continuing Darcy is here, will ride GP's, EL etc so it's end of story
  6. Yep, has to be Live for me too. I tend to Sky+ & watch about an hour or two behind just to blitz through adverts & ramblings. If anything is beyond the Live feed the result is already known and the interest is lost to watch isn't there.
  7. pleased to hear that Mr R. Fingers crossed all i's & t's get dotted & crossed
  8. because???????? Don't keep us hanging Phil, or is this a speedway star exclusive story?????
  9. Kerr could be a top rider. Has the style & skill the only thing that stopped him hitting an 8 average last year & possibly the year before is his mechanical gremlins. Always the same problems, blowing engines or dropping chains, more so than any other rider I've seen. If he can get past that he'll hit a 5+ average for Newcastle easy, a real genuine class rider
  10. Well, after that statement I will agree with Ward. Time to move on. He'd been fined but given no convictions against his name which shows that it wasn't taken to seriously by the court. Wrapped knuckles is all that's needed here. It certainly doesn't come across as bad as the Bournemouth Eco made it out to be. No conviction, no issue IMO See you in 2013 Darcy and hope you have a good season and rip up the GP's
  11. Question. I've seen many riders on Twitter say they use Snus to give them a boost, any idea what that is as I have no idea???
  12. I think that's true but from my understanding is that Sky ain't getting the returns from sponsorship / advertising. Viewing figures ain't the problem
  13. With the riders announced do people really think they'll pull punters through the gates to make this series work???
  14. very professional of the UK Speedway Series
  15. This is exactly what I thought would happen from past history. The riders will pull out now as this puts their livelihood at risk & the riders announced won't have the financial backing to challenge it. Well done the BSPA / SCB in my opinion. Renegades should be exterminated from speedway.
  16. Monster don't need speedway. At the time being they're using it to crack Eastern Europe knowing speedway is massive in Poland. Everywhere else Monster is covered by all other Motorsports. Monster will not as a brand be hampered by no speedway coverage in the UK. It's a very blinkered view if you think no live GP coverage in the UK is damaging the product. The only damage is to us supporters as those that do just watch GP's will be lost to speedway.
  17. The last time Tai was in the GP's he made a mistake by running untried & untested Michael Lee tuned engines. This time around he'll be running pretty much identical motors as Darcy & Holder on PJR which will put him in a much stronger position. Does Tai have the ability? Of course he has, it's just going to come down to his mental strength. I've changed my mind on relection of Tai's chances and as long as the PJR's hold together he'll finish 11-12th in the series. I have no doubt about it
  18. Just a thought. Wasn't something like this attempted a few years ago and riders were threatened to have their licences revoked if they took part in a non sanctioned speedway meeting????
  19. Thats flattrack racing. They're not just motoX bikes used
  20. This just adds to the point that the decline is more down to us than the sport itself. As newbies the sport has the wow factor but the longer someone hangs around turning up becomes a chore & they end up lost to the sport. We start to expect more for our money even if the price remains the same year on year. If you've been going to speedway for 50 years, 2002 is the same as today. 50 years ago was way better. If you've been going to speedway for 20 years, 2002 you may have seen as the decline because it's nothing more then your own perception. If 2002 you first went to speedway those first 2-3 years where the best ever, why is that. Correct, no expectation. Is there a decline in speedway itself or a decline in attendances because there's so much to do now without even leaving the house. '
  21. I have a very different approach to Speedway's decline. I honestly feel it has nothing (maybe a little bit) to do with rules, regulations, admissions costs etc. I personally think it's more to do with the supporters expectations of the sport. As time moves on there's more & more other things to do but speedway has remained the same concept. Most tracks still churn out 50's, 60's, 70's music, no pre meeting entertainment, to much hanging around between heats etc. These to me are the main reasons for speedways decline rather than equipment, rules etc
  22. Completely unbiased view EL Iversen Klindt Stead Korneliussen Schlien Alden Smith PL Smith Stead Kerr
  23. Latest update and thanks to all that have taken part 263 have votes so far 63% Said they will cancel 45% of the 63% from the comments said they'll watch the 2013 Elite League then cancel in 2014 if there is no speedway completely almost all the 37% that said they won't cancel is because they watch a variety of sports. Only 4% of the 37% said they'll think about canceling in 2014 if there's no speedway on Skysports at all although a small number of votes the main point is for 2013 there's no major issue for Sky as a high percentage will remain as customers The biggest hit will come at the end of the 2014 season if there's no speedway at all but it shows a great portion of those customer will still remain Skysports customers for various reasons
