  1. It will be Poland that quashed it, nothing to do with British clubs. Miss interpretation from Bewley's comments
  2. Would imagine it has nothing to do with uk, miss interpretation. Surely it's 3 Polish clubs insisting because of the complications it would have for them with their own rider's.
  3. So, why do Belle Vue Speedway has such extortionate debts to the Council??
  4. No, not necessarily. Belle Vue could & likely are still the owners. Many businesses have 3rd party operations. Belle Vue may have an agreement where 'Better Leisure' just take a cut from bookings etc. This then allows for Belle Vue to not required full time staff every day at the stadium.
  5. Think we have to think honestly about Belle Vue & British Speedway in general, I think they'll be in serious trouble come the end of the season. With the pandemic & now the 'Cost of Living' challenges for the next 5yrs minimum things are gonna be really really tough for the sport
  6. As much as 1 club rider's sound good it's unsustainable. Even Sweden & Poland allow doubling up/down to an extent. All we should do here is stop double for rider's that have teams abroad.
  7. Certainly hope there's no rule change this late in the day. Totally unfair on the rest of the league. Any big rule changes now shouldn't come in to effect until 2023
  8. Here's the thing about reporting. It was a non news story but the idea is engagement about King's Lynn Speedway. Guess what, you're talking about King's Lynn Speedway in the off-season. Job done
  9. Anyone notice that for the Winter Olympics Eurosport has increased to 5 HD Channels? Maybe it's part of their future plan for a sports takeover
  10. Course is still live https://www.poultec.co.uk/studyprogrammes/speedway/ This was Olly Allen's project but I'm unsure if he's still continuing since he became Great Britain Speedway manager
  11. That makes the event less attractive. Places would be empty if there's meetings where the No2/No4 & No6 race. . It has to be fixed to be a pairing from the top 3 in the team averages otherwise there's just going to be no interest at all to attend.
  12. £10k for the winners Doyle, Fricke & Woffinden will want that just to get out of bed
  13. Hopefully this will actually be every teams top 2 turning up (but very unlikely)
  14. Never disputed he's a good, improving rider. I'm just not sure he's capable of being a No1. I don't believe we have the strength at No1 & No5 some believe we have.
  15. That's some call on a rider that's never been a regular heat 13 - 15 rider?? Up against Fricke, Doyle, Cook, Holder, Ellis, you fancy Pickering to take points away from them?? Some ask even at home
  16. Seems like your very good question has fallen on deaf ears
  17. If rider's were allowed to pick & choose where they ride, Ipswich & Wolverhampton fixtures would be pretty tough to fulfil as they're not enjoyable places to go as an away rider by choice.
  18. That's right, because Woffinden would never rider for anyone else would he
  19. There lies the problem with Speedway. Pushing it to the back of you mind for the next winter will prove to be to late. There needs to be written, tight, legal paperwork of promise & contracts for rebuild on future grounds for Speedway. Without this, any reference to a regulation means nothing without land registered & planning permission granted for a new stadium. Words coming out the mouth of a Councillor should be taken with a pinch of salt. People within Speedway & it's fans never learn, just believing "we'll never close for good".
  20. Though I'd highlight the important part for you. Nearly every time averages are never ammended except exceptional circumstances, i.e. if a rider has been out the league with a 4.00 but is now a well established GP rider. Woffinden being around the 7.00 ave will not have his average altered.
  21. That's the thing, like Swindon, when house building gets closer & closer it get harder & harder to keep Speedway open. Also like Coventry, anyone can promise a new plot for Speedway to gain approval for housing. If the housing gets approved, Peterborough Panthers will be no more
  22. Maybe a conversation needs to be had with the excellent councillor Swindon had who promised housing development wouldn't effect the Robins racing. That's gone well hasn't it. If you trust these people, more fool you
  23. But it's not, it's lower. He gets the 2.5% for being a past National League rider too
