  1. those 3 school age children are the exact age group clubs need to look after they are the future long term fan - if meetings started 7-30 a 9-15 finnish should be the norm - I’ve friends that’s stopped going basically because they start work 4 or 5am again they don’t want to be there at 10-30 pm - clubs soon have to take notice of fans needs or there will be no fans .
  2. definitely on a week night presentation should be slick and the meetings should be done and dusted by 9-15 at the latest -fans wouldn’t feel cheated by this 15 heats is 15 heats if it’s spread over 90 mins or 120 mins it’s still 15 heats - sometimes a KL it’s the total lack of urgency that gets me .
  3. absolutely spot on - on a Wednesday night at Kings Lynn this is just what’s needed with an early start at work or School the next day it would definitely encourage more fans to attend- the slightest thing put us off going weather being one of them slightest hint of rain we stay home and if I’ve had a busy day at work I think can I be bothered to stand around till 10pm for what is effectively 15 minuets of entertainment I use that term loosely. 7.30 first race would definitely encourage more to attend and some urgency shown to keep the meeting moving along as well .
  4. one reason there are so many other things to spend our hard earned money on here and they are better value for money - myself and my other half are now members of Nottinghamshire country cricket club for £206 not each thats for us both we get a reduced cost membership because we live 35 miles from Trent Bridge we can attend all county championship all 50 overs games all T20 matches they are all included in the membership we are treated with respect by the club we are valued by the club we are looked after by the club basically they cant do enough for you - now we have KL speedway they basically dont give a toss about season ticket holder and why buy one no incentive what so ever in fact in 2017 you paid more than had you paid on the day - the club treat die hard fans for granted give them no respect to fans . Cricket is not everyone cup of tea granted but its all about value for money and not being treated as a fool .
  5. how about having proper shale like we used to have red in colour rather than dark clay almost soil based what’s used now .
  6. that is a very good point - wrestling sport/ entertainment is a farce yet people in there thousands go watch it - in speedway the season definitely just past was a farce yet crowds Id guess have fallen again - as you say wrestling is promoted marketed in a big way not saying speedway could do anything on that scale but its almost 0 % effort in promoting in speedway . Fans need value for money be entertained and treated with respect.
  7. all my none speedway friends wouldn’t go anywhere near the sport they thinks it’s on par with wrestling.
  8. the sport is doomed if thats all they got to talk about are these promotions so blind ? they really have there heads buried in the sand .
  9. you’d better get used to old farts as you call them with no effort given to attract the younger generation along to clubs OAPs will be the majority before too long .
  10. well they definitely do still do the text service as I still receive them .
  11. same here regarding rain the weather needs to be dry and settled.
  12. while clubs make 0% effort to attract new fans the future is bleak
  13. what the powers that be have failed to realise is there are so many other sports out there to spend money on theses other sports have moved with the times speedway sadly hasnt - also the weekly speedway habit has been broken it was more or less speedway at our home track every week from March to October the weeks we have no racing we do other things and other things become a habit . Speedway is broken in the UK sadly .
  14. he won’t do no worse than what we started the 2017 season with at no1 or what we ended the season with without a no 1.
  15. How about making season tickets a more viable thing to buy rather than just saving one meeting how about save 4 meetings if bought before January 1st and offer £20 off as well if you live 35 miles from the stadium - I always used to buy one but with little incentive there really is no point - in fact 2017 season ticket holders paid more than if theyd paid on the gate .
  16. top post - what I dont get is why promotions dont treat die hard fans with more respect why do they take that group for granted- also why is there 0% effort into trying to attract new fans .
  17. yet admission prices go up almost every year - speedway certainly isn’t value for money .
  18. total disgrace how they was treated loyal sponsors are hard to find last thing you need to do is pee them off - if Trucks R us walk away which Id be amazed if they didnt who will be main team sponsor then ? MRC possibly.
  19. that is 100% true - have many conversation mainly with Anita who refused to pay to watch at Lynn - That is 100% true and a total disgrace.
  20. including the Promotion- what an insult after the Thousands of pounds Roger and Anita Warnes ploughed into the club being made to pay at the box office last season they should have been allowed free entry for life .
  21. Think its time for speedway fans to wake up and face the truth - unless BT / Sky throw money at speedway and in all honesty why should or would they ? Or a major league sponsors can be found speedway as is stands isnt viable if we bury or heads in the sand and even start next season with similar team strengths and over heads as 2017 I can see clubs closing but mid summer
  22. Rather than over the years could it be bring in the strong down to the weakest has been the wrong way about going about it - instead of one or two weak clubs we now have a league full of weak clubs - no league sponsors possibly no tv money - if the strong clubs had been able to remain strong top riders would still be over here and with possibly tv deal and league sponsors- but over the years all weve done is water down the sport year on year while clubs expecting fans to turn up take this season sack too top riders bring in championship standard riders massively cut the wage bill Id guess but not cut admission price and then they wonder why fans walk away .
  23. the Championship finals day would need to be more northern based as most of the clubs are more northerly that’s why BelleVue would be a good choice of venue - Premiership finals day I thought Pboro as a venue - it only an idea I had today but it’s no more crazy than some of the stuff that’s come from the BSPA this season .
  24. How about a finals day for both Premiership and Championship ? Mid September say - on a nuteral track two 15 heat semi final winners into the final over 15 heats - Premiership at Peterborough Championship at Belle Vue obviously not the same weekend so no to clash for double uppers - top 4 teams league winners chose who they want to race in the semi first semi 12 mid day start second semi to start 1 hour after heat 15 of 1st semi the final say 7 pm start - £25 admission 20%of gate admission money to each of the 4 clubs 20% to the host club but TV money to the 4 clubs competing. Just an idea crazy maybe but need fresh ideas and maybe think outside the box . Finals day works for T20 cricket different sport I no but it could make a great day .
