  1. Bearing in mind the obvious benefits these fences bring to rider safety it's a good move, however how thses are fuunded is a different matter. I believe some of the costs say 50% should be covered by the BSPA, the SKY money assuming they run next year could go towards this, it is after all BRITISH Speedway and unfair that all the SKY money goes to EL Tracks. Given the entertainment provided by the PL this year on SKY a new deal may entail a mix of both leagues next year, how would the money be shared then?
  2. This will be a cracker, it is do able and I'm gonna bear my ass and say Comets will win on aggregate!! Come on boys!!! Lets waste them!!
  3. Absolutely agree, he rides with his head and some of his switchbacks were class.
  4. You would have to fight for tickets, what a nights entertainment! There is no other motorsport that can live with the excitement and racing that was produced last night- a true exhibition of just how good it can be.
  5. After the meeting Worky's injury jinx continues with Chris Mills breaking a wrist after practising starts and lifting in one of them! Just as the guy was scoring solid points!
  6. Must have been a fantastic meeting to watch if you were a Sheffield Fan!!!
  7. They need a good kick up the arse for snatching defeat .
  8. Darts is popular because people can get dressed up in, sit in warm surroundings and get pissed, then they can heckle a few blokes. How many of them would go and watch a darts match in a pub? All Hearn has created is a good reason to get drunk on a night out, it's what the majority of Brits love- entertainment with alcohol. It certainly doesn't match Speedway for thrills. Speedways problem has been a lack of forward vision and investment in building its own stadiums when it had a huge following from the 60's to 80's BSPA to blame, For the sport to truly move forward it has to go indoors,or have coverd track similar to Torun. Cardiff proves it. Big crowd, great atmosphere, seats, drink, Not some 1930's run down stadium with tannoy speakers playing 70's music whilst watching tractors drive round! As much as people knock the GP's, the day out in a covered stadium, with all the benefits it brings takes some beating!
  9. So it appears from previous scores its not one of his fav tracks. How did you waste your diesel? Suppose thats Kyle's fault as well, must have a word with him and see if he can move the Redcar track (Clue is there) nearer for you.
  10. Yes maybe it was Richard, Rene & Rustys fault for not getting Maximums after all they are Heat Leaders, or maybe it was Terio's fault for only finishing 3rd in his race, or maybe Chris Mills engine fault because it blew up, maybe Ashley for running two lasts. They rode as a team and lost as a team, no one's fault. As far as being a supporter (jamlad) of the Comets, well thats not a comment a true supporter of their team would put. We have one of the best young riders in Britain who wanted to ride for Workington, he can only get better, but statements put out like that do not encourage. I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that a lot of fans will be behind Kyle as opposed to you after your comments!
  11. Easy JamLad were you there? He scored more than one of their Heat leaders and equalled the other one. The lad has limited experience of away tracks, we lost because of exceptional performances from 2 of the Redcar team, not because Kyle scored 4, seven members make up a team and it was lost in the last 2 heats.Brash statements like that could easily upset a young rider who reads any of these Forums.
  12. Shame for both riders, Lambert looked good when riding for Workington on Sat night 7 pts from 4 rides. Hope both are back soon.
  13. No one has answered my question, how do we correctly fill in the programme? So I'm obviously not the only one confused!
  14. Yes only been a fan for for 43 yrs and I now don't understand the Bonus Point situation in terms of fillng in the programme, average implications etc. As to payments for the 'Bonus Point' I would supppose if a club sponsor or supporters club wanted to provide funds to pay bonus points there would be nothing the BSPA could do as the payment would not be being paid by the promoter. Please can someone clear this up once and for all - Hoggy your the man in the know! Are all 'bonus points' being included in results or just a 2nd when on a 5-1 ???? Talk about confusing the fans!!! Even more confusing-- taken from the BSPA RULE BOOK 2013- or does each league have it's own rule book. Bonus Point Aditional point given to aRiderin a team event when finishing immediately behind his team - mate when in 2nd or 3rd position BSPA British Speedway Promoters' Association 15.9.3 In a Team Competition, a Rider shall be awarded a BonusPoint if s /he finishes in 2nd or 3rd place immediately behind his /her partner, this shall not count towards the Meeting score. Nothing in the rule book about riders not being paid for 'bonus points'!
  15. On a positive note its reported in this weeks Speedway Star that Eurosport will cover the 4 Round Final Series Live, at last a major channel taking interest in the sport to give Sky a run for their money. Would be interesting to see if they would cover the GP's should Sky decline. It has a prize fund of £50,000 It's reported as Nicki states "Wage wise it it's equivalent to a Polish League Match So am I reading correctly that Nicki Pedersen earns 50,000 Euros per Polish League Match! Or is it 12,500 Euros over the four meetings, either way thats good money! No wonder everyone wants to ride in Poland if thats the case!
  16. Loved watching wrighty blasting round Workington a few years ago , but sadly is a shgadow of his former self, gate and go springs to mind, 0 points last time he was there. If he gets the monkey of his back, a brilliant rider, but its a big if! Will watch with interest!

  18. Just be thankfull you got a team, two months ago it was finished, don't forget that!! Plus you never know, All of next years team have the potential to increase their starting Averages, and that is what makes championship winning teams. Me,, I'm just gratefull I've got Speedway to watch next yr-- Will wait till end of season and see who wass right!! Only time will tell, I have a gut feeling, bar injuries, we will not be far away. Will make a prediction when all teams are known, however so far Somerset & Leicester are looking good as well.
  19. Good news, Somehow wouldn't be the same without the Monarchs! Lets hope all the clubs have better fortune in 2013.
