  1. If i had paid £25 for a ticket to watch last seasons debacle I would have been looking to get a £ 24.50 refund.
  2. Unfortunately the sport is littered with people like Vatcher. They continue to prove that they're totally unfit for purpose yet somehow survive in this sport.n the "real world" they would be removed from their position for being incompetent.
  3. This practise of re-admission tickets only has been going on for years to be fair. I can remember going to Belle Vue once when JP was promoting, it was a fine evening & no issues were expected .However the riders were unhappy with an issue on 1st & 2nd turn which was described as being "like glass". After some work with the grader it was decided that Hans Nielsen would try a couple of laps. He did & gave it the thumbs down so the meeting was cancelled. Many bees fans decided to ask for their entrance fee to be returned, which was initially declined, but as a rather large contingent of fans congregated in the entrance areas & refused to leave the stadium before someone from the club eventually appeared with several money bags & duly refunded all the supporters . On the other hand I once experienced a situation at Swindon where a meeting was called off & we were all advised to keep our rain off tickets . I did this & decided to use it when I returned for the " new date ".So i turned up at the turnstiles only to be told that I needed to go to the big gates at the far end of the car park. When I gave the guy my rain off ticket he refused me entry stating that " I had missed the time frame for the re admission" , I explained I was a visiting fan & that i didn't get to Swindon regularly. He still refused, & then I had to argue my point with him for a few minutes before he decided to let me in. So as you can see this refund/re admission situation has been a mess for many years.
  4. Well until we see what he has to say who knows? It could be something that is better said now.
  5. Don't you think it would be wise to wait & see what Bomber has to say before passing judgement?
  6. I would love to be the person able to update the Wiki page that tells us that Coventry Bees "were" a speedway club to "are". I keep hoping.
  7. Well all i can say is that sort of proves my point.
  8. If you could ever give a little more thought & consideration into your postings in situations like this, ( which I personally doubt you are capable of) then you would get much more respect from other forum members
  9. I always enjoyed listening to Dave when he was at Brandon, he was always very professional , more so than the last promotion at the stadium were I must say.
  10. Good decision. I had a little spat with him a few months back & his responses became completely illogical.
  11. Be careful , you could be next on his "hit list".
  12. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladbrokes_Coral Think you will find your answer here.
  13. Target reached ! Just read some of the lovely comments from contributors which shows how much this place means to them.
  14. I think it is tremendous how people have responded to this in just a few days, it proves just how much Brandon Stadium means to them.
  15. very true , but if you consider the other close by areas (Aston - Smethwick- Hockley etc) probably no worse.
  16. You might like to try this. just a few minutes away from the speedway stadium + no worries about parking & congestion charging . https://www.dayoutwiththekids.co.uk/attractions/sandwell-valley-country-park-f91ab204
  17. Anyone who has commented previously regarding the planning proposal will receive a letter from Rugby Council explaining the procedure of the appeal. It does state in the letter that any comments ,or modification/withdrawal of previous representations can be made at https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk I am presuming anyone is able to comment there. Fingers crossed. APPEAL REFERENCE APP/E3715/W/23/3322013 APPEAL REFERENCE R18/0186
  18. Definitely is , but it seems the people who run the sport will continue to offer their many reasons/excuses why an earlier call off wasn't made.
  19. Both Col & Jim were in the bees team when I saw my first speedway meeting , must have been around 1960.Very sad news.
  20. You should be ok . Apparently Emil took to track "like a duck to water" so he'll be fine whatever the conditions.
  21. Yes , but we know the start marshal can take great care to get them lined up & the second he moves away at least one rider will back off from the tapes undoing everything he has attempted to achieve .
  22. "Pete Adams barbed & tongues" all together seems appropriate.
