  1. It turned a bit chilly as it got dark but I was surprised how mild it was, the AFA can be baltic but there wasn't much wind, my toddler and I took various clothes and layers we didn't need. As DS has said I don't think people should go to a testimonial expecting great racing or a quick meeting and bearing that in mind I quite enjoyed it, I certainly didn't hear any moaning but you will always get unsatisfied customers however good something is.
  2. Didn't they do it the year before too with Sneddon and Fox?
  3. Hope Ritchie Worrall and Jack Thomas are ok. Jake Mulford certainly appears to have something about him, hopefully he can get some regular speedway somewhere to continue his development. I didn't think the racing was too bad, I'm guessing the bored comment refers to the meeting taking over three hours but that was always going to be the case with 25+ races. We had grading and some watering after every 5 heats, not excessive for me.
  4. Especially since covid and some people's attitude to handling cash changing. Not a good reflection on speedway that their are tracks without card / contactless payment options.
  5. Yep, up to 45 minute delays at times. Don't bother with avoiding it by going through Wisbech though as we did that on Monday and it was no better with roadworks in various places.
  6. Yep I appreciate what you are saying too. I have read before from other riders that organising Testimonials and suchlike is extremely stressful especially on the day when they are desperate for things to go smoothly, so you can completely understand why some might not want the extra hassle of riding even if it would be a good chance to sharpen their race fitness. The forecast looks good for Sunday so here's hoping for a great meeting, looking forward to it.
  7. Because he doesn't want to? Would rather run and promote the meeting perhaps. Enjoy the occasion with his family. Would be my guess.
  8. Surely this is nothing unexpected, plus if I've read it right it will be four years before anything happens and assuming this guy is honest they want to find the speedway a new home.
  9. I can completely understand why they've gone with R/R but personally I feel short changed by seeing one (or even worse two!) fewer riders than the full fourteen, and this is likely to be all season. There is no ideal solution unfortunately.
  10. Pretty sure Lemon means thay Etheridge is capable of starting 2022 in the main body having finished 2021 at reserve.
  11. Couple of months later, revised predictions..... Glasgow Leicester Poole Redcar Oxford Edinburgh Birmingham Berwick Plymouth Scunthorpe Newcastle Just a bit of fun folks, nobody get their knickers twisted
  12. If done properly this sounds like a pretty good idea to me.
  13. So what's this 'blue card' scheme all about? They obviously want folk to have one of these or buy online and are trying to steer paying customers towards them. Presumably its possible to sit in the car park at 7pm and buy an online ticket on your phone for the cheapest price?
  14. A nice big juicy win at the Foxhole on the 31st will set the season up nicely
  15. If Puk comes in at 1 that takes a bit of pressure off Pickering initially.
  16. If its the choice of that, R/R or God forbid guests from the same league then that's absolutely the most acceptable IMO.
  17. One of the reasons I went so infrequently last season. Lynn was £20, they can't possibly put it up again for this season.
  18. If the last two are Ellis and Pearson that's a pretty good team and much better than most would have expected. If.
  19. Speculation but as always it's worth noting who has posted the names on here as some are more ITK than others.
  20. Ah fair enough, was reading too much into what you both said, thought there was something going on behind the scenes. The way he rides can't help his injury record.....we aren't strong enough to cope with him being unavailable or below par so hopefully he comes back in a month fit and ready to go.
  21. Why do you say 'there's a surprise'?
  22. I expect that kind of stuff goes on every winter and you can see how some clubs end up paying more than they should for riders. It's definitely a riders market nowadays.
  23. I'm not following guys, what's the actual deal then?
