  1. Based on very little other than the fact that he has reportedly signed for a Premiership team and he had a spell with us in 2017, and this is probably a 2+2=5 suggestion but I wonder if Tomas H Jonasson might be lining up at reserve on 4.18? Other than his tendency to pick up injuries I don’t think he would be a bad signing in that average.
  2. I think you are probably overthinking it a little! I did say the main problem was poor scoring reserves last year among many other issues, and I think having a good reserve who can produce the goods in heats 2, 8, 12 & 14 is really important. MPT showed that in 2018. Again I agree with one part of your post in that we can’t have five or six of last years team back and expect success, it can be no more than four IMO. I’m not keen on hanging riders out to dry but we can all see from the averages who didn’t cut the mustard away from home last season.
  3. I think you need at least one, there were many issues with last years team but the main one was that once MPT moved up we scored poorly from reserve away from home for the rest of the season. Also I can’t see the budget stretching to Lambert, Cook and another heat leader who would command decent money. Would rather try and recruit young and hungry riders at the bottom end to give us strength right down the order. What I do agree with in your original post is Connor Mountain, not a bad shout for number seven if his average permits and would give extra scope for the bottom three.
  4. I believe she had them reduced again didn’t she.....maybe Dolly Parton instead.
  5. Reserves not good enough in that team. I think Lambert, Cook and Riss will be good enough IF the bottom end are built to be better away from home than in 2019.
  6. I know it’s a numbers game and not everybody can return but Perks surely has to be in the team, has the potential to up his average considerably.
  7. I think there was a certain amount of fortune with Jensen however good the scouting was.
  8. It’s likely to be two weak reserves but Rosco got round that last season and won the league (I accept signing Jensen was the main reason) so I don’t think too many Swindon fans will be concerned. My only worry would be as mentioned if Jensen can maintain his 2019 form, that’s a fat average to live up to for a fairly unestablished rider.
  9. Damn right, wouldn’t want to live anywhere else
  10. You can’t beat an announcement about an announcement!
  11. I thought FRN’s were designed to avoid fixture clashes with both the Championship and foreign leagues? Realistically it was never going to get missing big names racing here again whatever might have been claimed. But in terms of making sure riders fulfil fixtures rather than racing elsewhere it’s worked reasonably well.
  12. Quote the part where I said that Glasgow are the only ones to do any of the things I stated.
  13. I’d have thought the main attractions of riding for Glasgow would be the excellent track, the professional image and being treated properly by good business people. It seems that riders and supporters really enjoy being part of the club and it comes across a million times better than any other UK club on social media. I’d certainly say Glasgow is the place to be in the Championship.
  14. With all the gossip, supposition and bullish!t on this forum though you can’t really blame gullible folk for believing certain things.
  15. Each to their own. If others have families and are happy to race once or twice a week plus GP’s then good for them.
  16. Word on the street is that King is heading down to darkest Dorset too.
  17. Let’s hope so, wouldn’t like to see a new club to the league over stretching themselves straight away.
  18. And a nice little earner for Pedersen too I’d imagine.
  19. Way past his best and likely to be costing Sheffield a fortune. He will put bums on seats but I don’t see him being as good as many think.
  20. So you are saying we haven’t won anything with him in the team but would have done had he not got knocked off and injured in the 2019 final make your mind up For the record I think MPT has probably peaked but he is better away from home than others and can at least pass at Lynn.
