Bagpuss replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If Simon gates well tonight he’ll get a hatful and beat most of the Lynn riders. -

Lambert averages far more than 3.5 at Lynn. -

Despite all the bleating Lambert is a good guest too. -

If the will was there Buster could get hold of whatever shale Belle Vue use and lay that for speedway and the clay crap for stock cars, I’m sure it’s much closer to a day than an hour to achieve but it could be done. He could also eat into as much of the concrete centre as he wanted to make the track a rounder and wider one making Lynn one of the best speedway tracks in the world. If the will was there. -
Tai / Rosco - Team GB 2020
Bagpuss replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Don’t agree about Team GB or whatever you want to call it, he has shown passion for the project by wanting it to be the best it can be and and removing himself from it when measures weren’t in place to ensure that. Don’t always agree with his actions or comments but I don’t think his passion can be questioned. Agree that he should come over and do the British Final, pretty poor that he doesn’t. But don't blame him for not doing the British League, our top division is a shambles compared to Poland & Sweden and the World titles he has won vindicates his twice a week schedule. Yes he has an ego but he is passionate about GB winning things. -
Wolverhampton v Peterborough - Prem Mon 22nd July

Panthers have a couple of decent guests booked there, can see them running Wolves close with plenty of Monmore knowledge in the side. -
Totally agree. Our best three riders have all ended up being injured after two laps of our first heat, yes Bewley should have been out there rather than Bomber if he was fit but other than that and possibly needing a new TM an awful lot of the criticism has been way OTT. We came second last year with our best three riders and might have done well with them this year so let’s calm down a little and just accept it’s not been our year. No reason why Woffy, Robert and Bewley can’t give it a good go next year if the format is the same.

I can remember very similar arguments ten years ago when Ron Lyon picked a young team including Bridger, Kennett and a very raw Tai as a long term plan. Difference was we were a bit more competitive then with Nicholls, Harris and Rico a match for anybody on their day. This year however we won’t win it with no Tai, it would be the greatest upset in history if we did. So why not use Bewley and give him some priceless experience. Not convinced his scoring would be much different to Bombers anyway.

No surprise Glasgow get good crowds, they promote properly.

Have better things to do than sift through nineteen pages of garbage but I think both teams will be happy with the outcome, Ipswich’s form has dropped off a bit but plenty of time to regain momentum over the next couple of months before the Play Offs. Poole have coped admirably without Kurtz and I don’t think either team needs to fear anybody in the Play Offs, both capable of winning it if they have luck on their side. Will be interesting to see if another contender can gain momentum over the next 6-8 weeks and come through to win it. -

Spot on. If every club (no exceptions) had a professional website & social media approach, matching team suits and bike covers and a properly prepared track it wouldn’t cure every problem but the sport would come across one hundred times better than it currently does. As you say the bar representing the acceptable bare minimum needs to be raised way, way higher than it is now. -
Peterborough v Belle Vue - Prem Mon 15th July
Bagpuss replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Agree but I don’t think anybody currently involved could do what is necessary to save British Speedway. Needs a third party who can see potential to come in, grab it by the scruff of the neck and see the wood for the trees. -
A Peterborough win next week would at least put to bed all the conflict of interests chatter that we’ve had since the winter.

Could be brilliant or pants, hopefully the former. Certainly greatly increases the chances of some points from the last three away fixtures, assuming he doesn’t miss any.

You seem to come out with this stuff every time riders who don’t get on end up in the same team but you’d like to think that everybody could grow up and be mature for one night to try and achieve a common goal. -
I just can’t fathom why anyone would want to make the inside line at one of the best speedway tracks around so grippy thus turning it into a one liner. Baffling.

Great combo
