Cardiff GP 2025 Cancelled
Bagpuss replied to Phil's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yep I'd agree with that. I've not been for a few years and ironically was probably going to make the effort in 2025 but costs going up and crowds going down was only ever going to end one way. Feel for those who have lost money on hotels and whether they should have covered their own backsides is another argument, at the end of the day if a speedway event with a roof is scheduled then it's extremely rare for it to not go ahead. On the bright side we should get two excellent meetings in Manchester if the weather behaves. Hope to be there for one of them if ticket prices are sensible. -
Love that line up, can't wait to see the Young Stars in action.

I reckon I'll be partaking in one for the first time since the Waggy years, very decent value.

I think official club phone apps are long overdue for people who use their phones quite a bit. You could have a buyable digital version of the programme on there with a scorechart which can be filled in on the night and the news / club info that the website has plus extras for those who are prepared to pay for a premium service.

Wolves Speedway potential new stadium???
Bagpuss replied to Pauldoveyspeedway's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Bad timing considering they've just scored ten in a week and are the top scorers in the top two divisions π -
I mean you are kind of arguing against yourself but I quite agree.

Apologies for that, wasn't my finest hour. Not in a sulk, just needed to get away for a bit. When an internet forum starts to affect your mood/mental state/health etc it's time to have a break. Back now refreshed and looking forward to 2025. Merry Christmas! π

Disagree with a fair bit of that. I think riding in the GP's and Extraliga could propel Kurtz onto the next level. He has always been very committed to BV. Bewley has improvement in him. Lisdey is on an attractive average, assume he finished behind Cook a lot last season considering their respective averages. Agree he needs to be better away. Blodorn is still young and Zischke could have a very big season if he avoids injury, he's a very exciting talent. Take on board what you say about Cook & Mulford but overall I think they can give a full strength Ippo a run for their money over two legs. There you go @AceBelle that's how you do it without behaving like you're in the playground π

Not according him on his talking tour, seems he's on a hefty old deal at Rzeszow.

Thanks mate. Need to get you on as Fan Of the Week next year π

As is often the case there are two sides to everything and right & wrong on both sides as I expect is the case here. However what puzzles me is that the rider stayed in contact with the club during his injury lay off and never raised a grievance despite having multiple opportunities to do so which is very odd. He obviously no longer wanted to ride for King's Lynn and wanted to be elsewhere. There is a narrative that Lynn are a shambles but plenty of experienced, quality riders are happy to ride for the club and return after leaving so it's obviously not the case. Sometimes people just don't click with eachother and can be on different pages, I suspect that is what happened here.

Quite agree, the top six are going to be strong at home and apart from Doyle & Emil who stand out I don't think we need to worry about heats 13 & 15 as much as some people think. As you say we saw some strong performances last season especially towards the end. Away from home might be different but we shall see
-
Really pleased with and excited by that team. Ticks an awful lot of boxes for Lynn fans. We will be releasing a bonus episode of the Pride of the East podcast next week to discuss the 1-7, keep an eye on the socials for more information.

Anyway to get the thread back on to the club it's meant to be about, I'm glad we are racing on Mondays to avoid the potential Thursday carnage with Poland. Looking forward to the team being named, excited about 2025.

Yep I'd agree with that. Just a coincidence though I'm sure that they've drawn the Holder's team and that Cook & Brennan would be free to 'guest' π BV v Ipswich a juicy old tie.
-
Doesn't matter if it's Rew, Brennan or Uncle Tom Cobbley, Ipswich are going to start the season as the team to beat once again.
-
Are you absolutely sure about that?

Ipswich Witches 2024 serious team predictions
Bagpuss replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Your constant bellyaching and bleating wears the best of us down unfortunately. And as if to prove the point, I've never said nobody is available at all. While the rules allow they are clearly going to strive for replacements as strong as possible even if that involves waiting (Ipswich and Sheffield too) and use lesser riders as guests where necessary. Just common sense. -

Precisely. This poster has proved multiple times that he doesn't know his arsehole from his earhole so I wouldn't take too much notice. -
Kingβs Lynn 2024 serious team predictions
Bagpuss replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
There is nothing on the Met Office which is far more reliable. Not that forecasts this far out are particularly accurate anyway. People seem to be forgetting that Lynn can't just call fixtures off without the agreement other parties despite it being said about a million times this last week. They will ride with the best guests available, you just have to get on with it and see what happens. Or perhaps a new signing or two, who knows. -

I think you know very well that MPT is way off the level of the two unavailable riders. To be honest I'd have no problem with Lynn being forced to use Palm Toft after 28 days of a facility ie some kind of rider control as I hate guests and R/R but as that doesn't happen then the club are going to do what makes them strongest for each meeting.
