  1. i agree with you on this and lets be honest do we go and tell everyone how much or little we earn
  2. ive heard poole mentioned for cookie in the elite league
  3. im not a fan of the bspe im a speedway fan but i was adressing the post direct and the poster took for granted that because hanson is danish he was more expensive than british bassed riders we just dont know the ins and outs of riders fees im sure some brits are on better deals than some foreign riders
  4. do you know hes expensive ? might actually be willing to ride for less than some of the british bassed riders you have in mind he maybe actually wants to ride for workington unlike the riders you listed
  5. riders going up will still be the same the reduction is for riders dropping down
  6. hansons average has been reported as el 5.5 and prem as 7.70 if i multiply 5.50 by 1.4 i get 7.70 thats the figure quoted so i take that to be the correct way of working it out old conversion rate would be el 5.50 muliply by 1.6 = old prem average of 8.80
  7. surprised to see nick morris back at glasgow and also jan gravasen back at redcar
  8. copy of the post on workington forum below Right, there seems to be confusion everywhere on the change in conversion rate so I will explain the logic. (could someone share this with the BSF). At the Pre-AGM the "weakening" of the Elite League in 2014 with use of fast track and the change in race format meant that the old conversion rate (1.6 x EL average = PL assessed average) was outdated and needed looked at. We looked at all the data available from the EL stats and tried to correlate between averages achieved by the PL riders in the EL and their performances in the PL, the issue was that riders in a second string position in the EL got somewhat "easier" rides. After reviewing the figures it was noted that the overall standard of the EL was closer than previous and to keep the 1.6 conversion would exclude some riders from riding in the PL. The data indicated the conversion should actually be between 1.3 and 1.4 At the AGM the proposal was therefore made to reduce the conversion from 1.6 to 1.4 of any rider who wanted to "drop" into the Premier League. This of course caused an issue from the top end of the EL as well who in theory had "harder" rides due to the race format and we needed to make sure that this was not an issue. IT was therefore proposed and accepted that only riders with a current EL average of 6 or less could drop into the PL. I don't like using the word drop as it indicates a different level and standard between the 2 leagues and for several reasons I believe the 2 leagues to be closer in standard than ever now, in fact, in my opinion we no longer have two tears of professional speedway but 2 different leagues. All these riders who now want to ride in the PL have had the opportunity in the past and have not seen it as the "right thing to do", their chance may have gone or they may have to wait to get a less than 6 average!. The whole thing is about ensuring going forward the PL remains a strong product as well as ensuring that PL teams bring talent through. The conversion rates from PL to EL did not change as this was not discussed by the EL promoters so anyone moving from PL to EL will still be converted at the old rate. Hope this clarifies. its clear to see the elite league was a easy option for most prem league riders last year most of them scored more in the elite than they did for there prem leagu clubs even prem league reserves could easily score 10 points in the eliete league at times proberbly 1 off the most sensible rule changes they have made in years good post and very sensibly worked out obviously different people will have different views regarding on if its a good rider signing for there team or a opposing team the eliete leagus is very poor in my opinion and some riders are scoring more points than they should so its only right the conversion is looked at your figures prove theyve done this and are not too far away from how it should be
  9. depends what methord you use to work things out im sure the offial figures for signed riders will become clear unless somerset are bringing in more riders from danish league
  10. coppied from a post made on workington forum from 1 of the management team hope it shuts a few of the know it alls up who actually dont know as much as they think Right, there seems to be confusion everywhere on the change in conversion rate so I will explain the logic. 11. cant see it happening but if all rode like they can cracking team dont think josh will be back but stranger things happen everyday in speedway and i also agree all them riders can improve there average if things click
  12. for me almost all the riders listed cant ride to there potential week in week out they have too many poor weeks for the whole team to perform to the standard needed to win trophys on there day all the riders are good enough but just how often would they all ride to taht level at the same time
  13. some riders i would have but must agree it dosnt look a trophy winning team
  14. but other teams havnt got away with what somerset got away with and they almost got away with even more until other teams voiced there opinion but still somerset got a reduction on what the rider should have come in on rules are rules but some teams are allowed to fiddle the rules
  15. lets just wait and see but it came from a someone in the cook camp lets just leave it at that not sure how serious the talks were but 2015 was discussed
  16. wont be many workington fans happy with kev super guest doolan in the team can always score double figures riding against workington but lucky to get above 5 riding for them just like ross brady back in his day
  17. most people i know just cant afford £100 a month for liesure activitys and the current cost of speedway for me is very close to my limits im allready noticing the extra cash and the season has only been over a month not everyone has a well paid job that gives them plenty of spare cash im not on a good wage but i am on more than minimum wage(so higher paid than a lot of people now a days) im single but have my son living with me who is at collage with no income at all and believe me its not easy paying the bills and having enough to pay for speedway aswell
  18. not from what i was hearing towards end of season unless hes got full time polish club i know hes been talking to at least 1 british prem league club i agree the 45 point limit worked very well and also the amount of good enough riders around to fill the teams up
  19. what makes you so sure cookie will be ridding for a scotish team
  20. after reading the press release from berwick looking for sponsership yhey claim to be the lowest priced track for the prem league just out of interest just how much do each club charge as workington is my local ill start off adult admission at workington £14 when we had the double headers it was £23 i think and you get free race card for that price be interesting to see if there is much difference
  21. wouldnt surprise me if chriss mills hung up his leathers after his crash at workington this season
  22. personaly i would welcome the 2 minute clock as its not policed fairly some refs will kick a rider out when we feel hes still got time left and some others allow 2 minutes after the 30 second warning has been given and there is riders who do push there luck on the 2 minute rule
  23. i think something should be in place that a rider cant come in on a ass7 then drop to reserve and start scoring double figure scores maybe only drop as low as 5 for there first season unless of coarse its somerset as 7pt riders start on ass 5 for some strange reason
  24. at least 1 of your list moving if the rumours ive heard are correct and hasnt jack holder gone to scunthorpe?
