  1. Discovery do pay a set fee to teams per month for their coverage although not sure if it’s for whole year or just months of season(think it’s the latter) but it’s not a sniff of what they should be paying for our sport, compared to what they pay other sports it’s laughable
  2. They have to put forward first and clearly nobody put him forward, why anyone would want a badge of honour from that shady lot anyway is beyond me
  3. When I read about the catering problems last night with Mike lemon having to serve behind the bar as Well as his other roles at BV it’s reminds me of Peter butterworth in carry on abroad as the hotel owner doing all the jobs 😂
  4. I agree about Alexandra stadium in Birmingham, it’s really close to me but I didn’t want it there as it would of been just another meeting like BV was but with crap racing thrown in, it needs to be a stadium in a city center like Newcastle, yes there is no speedway in Newcastle but you have 2 tracks with 60 miles and another 3 within 120 miles and I’m sure there is some sort of fan base left from the diamonds, the football stadium holds some sort of rugby weekend festival there which is what speedway needs to be
  5. And that’s a perfect reason to get discovery out of speedway, they couldn’t care less
  6. And while watching it on tv moaning or otherwise continues it will be the death of the sport in the uk but at least the racing will be great eh, which is the whole point I’m trying to make, we have to make people want to go and great racing isn’t it unfortunately
  7. Well the complete lack of understanding of the current financial crisis that is hitting the country by the speedway world is alarming to say the least
  8. There is a huge football field over the road from track, would it have been a massive stretch to hire the field and make some sort of speedway village for the weekend for fans to meet up and socialise,As for where else, there are 100s of stadiums in this country, some located in city centres, these days a lot of stadiums have false floor so different events can be put in there, who would of thought of Cardiff until someone thought of Cardiff ? There was a enquiry into Alexandra stadium in Birmingham before BV but that didn’t happen because from what I understand some of the stadium board didn’t want it,fantastic stadium but again not the greatest area
  9. I wouldn’t say he struggles but clearly bewley and Kurtz have that home track knowledge as they ride it week in week out, you could see zmarzlik learning last night race by race and in the final rode Kurtz line to stop him coming past, zmarzlik wasn’t Beat last night by lack of understanding of the track he was beat by bewley riding the fence because he has the confidence to do it because he knows the track, if he had moved off the fence zmarzlik’ would have gone there, I was surprised zmarzlik chose gate 1 leaving Kurtz and bewley the dirt line on first corner but he obviously had a plan and as far as the world championship concerned it was job done, styles on the bike Dan hangs off it and his style his made for tracks like BV where zmarzlik has more of a unversial style suited to most tracks big or small, personally I think bewley looks awkward on the bike on tracks like Ipswich but zmarzlik always looks natural until he has to hang it off the fence, I also think Kurtz has a similar style to zmarzlik especially on smaller tracks
  10. Yes it did but it was the whole thing where we all met up with friends that hadn’t been for years who went because they got caught up in the occasion, by word of mouth from folk who went the first year that wore off after 10 years or so and moving the center of the event out to the field quater of a mile away split a lot of the atmosphere up and bit by bit the event lost its feel and bit by bit the organisers put on less and less to get the atmosphere and sense of occasion up until got so stale folk stopped going
  11. I get what you did there 😂 I don’t have any of the answers but I have plenty of suggestions that I put to various people in the sport and gauge their reply and opinions and listen to their concerns about where we are going, sometimes I say things on here that were not even my idea or thought, the idea might have come from a rider or promoter and as I think as MikeBV says on here we can keep doing the same and expect a better outcome
  12. Can you tell me where I said belle vue was a shambles ? All I’ve said was it shouldn’t be at BV, I don’t have a problem with BV I go to some league meetings there but the GP needs to something extra/new but the only embarrassment seems to be your inability to read a thread and respond accordingly, my experience of BSB is through work association so I see what it’s all about but I will be going at some point in the future because quite frankly it sounds like a blast even though I don’t watch any other sort of bike racing
  13. I’ve done just about every job in the sport, raced, mechanic, engine builder, SRA representative, I’ve prepared tracks, I’ve promoted a meeting,I’ve been a shareholder at a track, I’ve even been the medical cover for a season, but most of all I’ve been a fan all my life and I am now a fully paid up member of the man cave where ex riders, mechanics and generally old men chat passionately about the sport while drinking ridiculous amounts of tea and making parts on the machinery there lol
  14. Fortunately or unfortunately depending on your perspective people do listen to me,not enough imo but hey ho I have had some influence in the sport so not quite the bloke sat in the pub talking crap, ultimately I have the sport at heart and it’s not dictated to by my pockets
  15. I’ve never been to BSB and I’ve only been to Weston beach race when travelling back from a meeting and stopped of at Weston, yes I have been to the darts a couple of times but I’m not a fan, I went with a mate and it was amazing even though it was a couple of blokes throwing a pointed stick at a target, just to clarify
  16. I give up, of all the people despite your belle vue bias would understand the point I am making but I guess not
  17. I haven’t called anyone thick and I’m not entering a popularity contest, I’m showing you imo the wrong direction for the sport and in particular the GP , if you don’t like it then fine, couldn’t care less either way, I guessing your of a certain age and not really on the pulse of what ticks in today’s society, neither am I and quite frankly hate the things like influencers and the like but I understand the general public want to be entertained and feel like they getting the best for their pound and a one off meeting at belle vue isn’t going to attract anyone but the hard core speedway fan and no matter how good the racing is that will never change
  18. They scaled back because of greed and complacency not because the were losing money ,Enjoy your speedway because sadly your short sightedness will be the end of speedway in the uk, good racing or not
