  1. I agree its more than one thing but i am looking for what people think was the start of the decline .i also agree the laydowns were a significant factor but i think it started before laydowns My misses said that aswell
  2. Me and the misses were just having a debate about the decline of speedway and was there a single thing which started the decline. She said the time when characters started to be repremanded for a bit of playing up, so much so that there are very few characters today. I said bruce penhall retiring, speedway just seem to slowly slide away after he quit. Its not dead just yet but its definatly not thriving. Whats everybody elses single moment?
  3. Thats a fair point and im not going to defend it cause my reply will only be a biased one
  4. And that view is an insult to every paying fan that attends NL. Its speedway its about winning and its why fans follow teams . They want their team to win. It does provide riders with a stepping stone by it nature but say its just that and its just training and people wont go . Its a 3rd division . The start of the british rider issues are not in the national league ,its when they move up . The spaces are given to untried foriegners and some of them are not up to it but are given the chance over a british rider and it shouldnt be allowed. But there is also is a issue with some of the young british riders who suffer from "big sign written van syndrome" and think they are superstars and because they have speedway rider writ on the van they think they should have a premier place
  5. Bz or finn jensen gravity carbs are good . Get a blixt when you are racing in league
  6. If this series is shown on live tv .has all the top riders and pays big money and the gp is not on tv dosent it devalue the gp somewhat. The general floating fan will think this is the gp. Apart from being world champion why would any rider let alone fan prefer the gp to this series. If its a sucess it will expand to more countrys and surely bsi must be worried about this
  7. When dudley met mildenhall at the end of the season the fans of both teams just wanted their team to win . They didnt pay their money to watch riders training to be better riders. They want their heroes .The national league is by its nature a stepping stone for riders and does a good job but you cant dish up a training league and expect people to pay to watch it. Speedway at all levels is about winning
  8. its a 2.0 tdi front wheel drive ,short wheel base low roof and from memory y reg
  9. Made mine from an old set of flywheels with a little bracket welded on the top
  10. Holder was never going to back off, who would when so much is at stake? But just as nicki knows how to play situations holder knows how to ride the grass , he does it so much especially at Poole, 9 times out of 10 holder would barge his way through but this time it doesn't work, the stoppage of the race is the only thing that matters not what happens before it, as I said if nicki hadn't of gone down the race would not of been stopped yet the clash would of still happened, nicki doesn't cause Chris to lift , he lifts because he was squeezed to the kerb and the back wheel bit a bit of grip, at that moment nicki is 3ft away
  11. dosent matter what happend pre fall nicki has done nothing wrong clamping holder , nicki fell cause holder lifted and hit nicki , look at the still photo's there is 3ft between them when holder lifts , i think nicki is the master a playing a situation and often looks for conflict but on this occasion he was hit by holder , unsatifactory start no chance , holder could of shut off but he was never going to and who can blame him but his actions caused the fall , were the red lights on when nicki clamped him ? no they came on after nicki fell , would the red light come on if nicki would of stayed on ? no , therefore the crash was the reason for the stoppage and chris holder caused it
  12. will there be an award for best attempted somersault on a speedway bike ? because i think i might be in contention for it
  13. A Jackson is Andrew (drew) Jackson ,he sadly passed away from complications from throat cancer in a few years ago , 2006 i think , he was born in Manchester and was British under 21 cycle speedway champion ,he lived in Wolverhampton and had a pub there up until his passing
  14. if nicki had fallen at the first point of contact i would of said all 4 back or even nicki to a dive but he didnt ,they touched and then were 2 foot apart when holder lifted and run into the side of pedersen causing him to fall on another note last night proved when done right speedway is the greatest sport on the planet
  15. just watched it frame by frame , holder lifts and pedersen is 2 foot away from him , holder runs into pedersen and knocks him off , clear cut exclusion
  16. nicki came across holder and holder just didnt shut off (cant blame him its a world championship at stake )but that caused him to run into nicki twice ,he tried to force a hole which wasnt there , it wasnt first bendbunching it was a gamble that paid off for holder, nicki would of done the same but it dosen,t change what happened holder rode his luck and was even more lucky after that
  17. holder should of been excluded and then got an EF in the final , when your luck is in its in , as for the scuffle before the semi thats what you get when you let snap back pit cap idiots in the pits, should be 1 rider 3 mechanics(gp level) , no hangers on ,anyway well done chris holder
  18. i think the way forward engine wise is to get GM/JRM or some other manufacturer to make a kit that comprises of a piston , conrod ,set of valves and springs and big end pin , these are the bits which break , get them to make them for long last reliability rather than speed meaning a bit more metal on them and a bit heavier, they are passed by the SCB as being all the same , once suplied they can not be machined or drilled or played with in anyway and must be used as they come like the silencer is , this way the riders all have standard engines as such , the riders can still use different cams and flywheels and compression ratios , the tuners can only change bearings rings and timing ,with the parts being a bit heavier and bulkier you will also cut the revs down a bit , not a great deal but some at least therefore helping reliability , all this depends on the manufactures making a kit that is a resonable price ,say £300-£400 per kit , all riders will be changing rods and pistons anyway so its not an extra expence and the kits will fit into the GM/JRM cases they have now , the SCB/BSPA should be onto these manufacturers now to see if it can be achieved ,as i see it if this was brought in all engines would be nearly the same(standard) but a lot cheaper more reliable so the riders pay less out , returning to 2 valve or uprights or using a new honda or other engine would cost the riders a fortune to change their engines ,this achieves the same result but with a reduced outlay on what they would be paying for next seasons parts
  19. i know he is controversial sometimes but just for the entertainment nicki p provides in the gp i want him to win
  20. good to see the promotion offering £12 for 2 meetings , hope they rewarded with a good crowd
  21. jason is an ultra proffessional legend of the sport , he was always there at the SRA meetings and has great knowledge and care for the sport , he is a credit to the GP,s ,he has nothing left to prove and will be missed in future GP,s, hope we see him in british league racing again before he quits speedway altogether
  22. will the current crowd still be there if the admission rises £5 to £15, at the moment £10 is good value and but is £15 value for premier ?or even for elite ?
