  1. I was giving some thought about the speedway v stockcar debate. Up till about 20 years ago speedway was a sort of common mans grass roots type of sport like stocks. By that i mean the bikes were pretty much basic machines and to compete you didnt need a rocket ship .no really fancy gadgets and maybe this is what appealled to the fans. Modern speedway seems to be trying to be a F1 type of sport rather than stockcars. nothing wrong with F1 if thats your thing but F1 is about money and speedway dosent have it. so maybe we should be looking to make speedway more like stocks .make it less of a proffessonal sport more grass roots. This is just a thought not the answer
  2. Yes perhaps this is nelsons fault or rye house fault but whatever the ins and out of it ,it was the paying fans that had to suffer. he was there with bikes ready to ride and should of been allowed to . agm's and the like are the places to iron out these things not infront of the paying public.
  3. Who banned tyson nelson from riding on monday?. He was there ready to ride ,the bspa should of said in the intrest of the paying public we are going to overule the FIM . But it wont cause it has no thought for the fans. The FIM dont care about domestic speedway or the people who watch it .yes the problems are closer to home but the FIM do british speedway no favours. Rye house should of got confermation of the situation but common sense should of told anyone that he was there ready to ride and he should of been allowed to . Unfortunatly speedway dosent do common sense
  4. Unless britain speedway starts to look after its fans the national league will be all we will be left with anyway .how many were at rye last night and of those who went how many felt cheated by a 5 man team leading to 3 rider races. This should not happen in a proffessional sport and if it carrys on the FIM and the bspa are not going to have a sport to govern.
  5. And because of said penalty the paying british speedway fans have to suffer .its not good enough, they can sit and debate the rights and wrongs in the winter but in the meantime the bspa should ensure that the paying public gets the best product that british speedway can deliver and the FIM dont agree the can shove their silencers up there backsides
  6. Showing that the FIM dont give a damm about british speedway and the people who pay to watch it. Whatever the rights and wrongs about nelsons visa. He was at rye house ready to ride for his team and it should be up to the BSpa to ensure that BRITISH speedway fans are looked after in BRITISH speedway .end of story
  7. I think tai should be kicked out of the gp. I backed him each way last night. Anywhere but last in the final and i would of got £200. Gutted lol. Well done tai
  8. My first visitor as a spectator to leiester tonight. Got to say what a clean and tidy fabulous facility it is .everything about the place is spot on .nice touch to interview the riders in the middle of the supporters at end of meeting. It was well run and even the car park attendant said goodnight to us on the way out . (i could name one track where you would be lucky to not get insulted on your way out). The little things do matter and i think leicester do a grand job
  9. it would only be a matter of time before one of the current promotors got in someone who is a man but was a women before the op ,stating that their mother was a women or lived in scotland in a past life or another lame excuse similar to the crap they come up with now to get round the rules which they make but cant stick to and just for the record jessica lamb was not really that bad and did score some points at reserve for plymouth

  15. because they come into the corner close to the fence it was the fence that caught the shale and if you look the riding line into a corner is usually void of shale after the first race if you had sat half way round the bend it would of been a different story , i sat half way round the 1st and 2nd turn 4 rows back in prague and was shot blasted for the whole meeting it was so bad all the poles in front of us went and stood at the top of the steps ,the fact is they dont do anything ,i have seen this from the teracing and from the track , there are people who will deffend them but offer no proof other than their mates say they work but they dont , this is not a personal attack on barry briggs ,he does some good worthy things but the dirt deflector isnt one of them and has done nothing to make speedway any better since it was brought in , if you need proof for yourself go stand behind a bike off the start line you will be well an truly shot blasted, its a waste of money that speedway dosent need and cannot afford
  16. Good -air fences .Sitting still at starts (no rolling) .Cut outs Bad-dirt deflectors .new Silencers(beyond a joke) .Tyres( should be made for wet tracks aswell) .Oil catcher on end of breather pipe .Enviromental mats ,oil comes from the ground its just recycling it .Tatical double point rides .Man on man last season( the worst idea ever ) .Allowing titanium .The stupid rule about a finger hole in front chaingaurd .the laydown wasnt a good idea but its not a rule
  17. It just needs one rider to buy it get a result and everyone will have it . I think all the gp riders have already tested it by now. Speedway bikes are very easy to ride but racing them is rocket science I wish i were as good a rider as i am at explaining speedway
  18. titaniums performance apart , speedway is all psychological , you have to believe you will win , you can have all the best equipment money can buy but without the belief you wont win , to believe in yourself everything has got to be perfect and if another rider has got titanium parts and you havent you start to doubt your bike is good enough (may not be fact ) but you will think it and that slight doubt is enough for the oppostion to beat you , speedway bikes are really easy to ride but to race into a 1st corner with 3 other idiots takes 100% belief and the slightest doubt in you or your bike means you wont win . i cant explain it any simpler than that
  19. In the real world no they wont but we are dealing with a generation that believes a soft drink with enough sugar to kill a horse really does give you the edge over you rivals and the same belief will be for titanium.
  20. The weight of titanium rod and valves and any other other part used is only goin to be a small difference from the steel ones but it is claimed that it will produce an extra 1.5bhp which is nothing really but in a riders mind it will feel like a lap. An extra 1.5 bhp is useless unless it it can be put on to the track . It definatly wont be any use at a track like lakeside where 1.5bhp less is better but riders will still want titanium and they will have it and sadly the fans are the ones at the end of the chain who will end up paying for something they couldnt care less about and does nothing to enhance the sport
  21. and didnt antonio lindback ride one of rickardsson's special frames and say it was the worst handling bike he had ever ridden
  22. yes what you are saying is correct in theory , but with speedway being mostly in the head ,riders will look for any advantage whatsoever and buy whatever the latest trick bit is ,if it works or not dosent matter , if chris holder came out in next years gp with a rubber glove over his front mudgaurd and says its a new design and wins the gp every rider will believe this is fact and buy one ,a few years ago they came out with adjustable headstocks on the frames ,half the riders hate them ,half dont even know how to use them but they all got them because a few riders like them , this placebo effect is not just in speedway its in all motorsport , they will see the guys at the top have got titanium and straight away they believe they are at a disadvantage ,its already in their head that they are beat ,and when that happen you wont beat them and thats why everyone will want it ,it dosent matter if it actually better performance or not ,its just believing that you are on the same level i am told the rev limiter will not be in till next season
  23. I have questioned before why its still not banned for league matches and just let the gp riders use it
  24. There future of speedway has got to be a level playing field and this is going the opposite way and just adding extra cost that is not needed Speedway is littered with parts that are no better than the basic ones but riders at all levels buy them cause of the "gp riders use it" and titanium will be no different. All this is doing is making speedway more and more about the engine and less about the rider and that will be the end of speedway
  25. But if everyone was driving a ford fiesta its a level playing field because its not litterd with faster ferraris . And it would be a better sport for it. I know they buy these parts for the look, im one of them
