  1. Heavens forbid it's a lack of organization from the club itself. Because you know, it'd never be their fault would it? What an absolute shambles. I just can't believe there's actually fans defending their club over this when they're clearly in the wrong. But blind loyalty goes a long way i suppose. Unfortunately not every fan will put up with such amateur workings and there's no way speedway can run off die hard alone. Hopefully this will be the end of it and the promotion will put in effort so it doesn't happen again. Especially now the last thing we need is another club struggling. but stuff like this is only going to push more and more away.
  2. The situation is completely incomparable. That meeting today would have run with a bit of organization and professionalism, whereas Berwick was just unavoidable. Another day in which speedway simply looks amateur. This sort of stuff needs to be stomped out and quick. It's only going to push fans further away from the sport.
  3. I'd be happy with that, especially if he came as an asset too. Or a straight swap of Roynon for Nielsen would do nicely.
  4. If the club has any ambition whatsoever, they'll make a change with that team. No matter what way anyone wants to sugar coat it this team isn't good enough. Not at all. We're in the exact same position as last season where we're 3 points under the limit and have some real scope to make a change that will make a big difference. Even just to drop Nielsen for Hall would at least make us a lot stronger at home and would levitate the pressure from the other riders, although I'd be hoping we can make a better signing. I'm not at all concerned about letting Nielsen go, the effort without a doubt has been there, but it's no good if the score isn't. Frankly, he might be better off at Newcastle.
  5. I'd look at bringing in Rob Lambert or Mellegren if possible. They'd both make us a hell of a lot stronger! Not sure if there's any riders about that haven't rode in Britain yet though.
  6. Yet Bates outscored Nielsen last week. he's been scoring pretty much on par with Simon, mostly better all season. I feel out of all the squad, Nielsen is the most likely candidate and rightly so. He has looked better over last few week, actually going in the dirt and going for it. But his score really hasn't reflected it at all. I'd disagree to where bates is only keeping his place because his family are running the place. He's actually scored valuable points that have actually won us meetings.
  7. I was unsure to whether he could or not. I thought he could once he got his own average. Probably way off the mark though.
  8. Wonder if we could tempt Robert Lambert down to the premier league, by my thinking he'd be on 8.03 converted down from his EL average, but I'm not sure he can double down after trying with Newcastle. But we could easily swap him out for Lanham and still have plenty of room to make another move- 1. Simon Stead 9.71 2.Simon Nielsen 3.81/or replacement up to 5.91 3.Rob Lambert 8.03 4.Andre Compton/or a replacement up to 7.22 5. Ty Proctor 6.40 6. Taylor Poole 3.75 7.Josh Bates 3.58
  9. There is nothing more annoying to me than heat winning themes. And Birmingham are the absolute worst at this. Their presentation was just so irritable! Every time there's a crash, 'red light spells danger' and for about every pole they played 'Polish and your proud'. It's enough to want to drag your eardrums out! It's ok in moderation, for Sheffield we have the intro music and 5-1 which is just about enough. But at Birmingham, it's so forced and unnecessary.
  10. Updates available here- http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/13579/berwick-plymouth-pl-2014-7pm?page=1&scrollTo=248736
  11. Then suggest a solution. Because until we get a sudden wave of young talented brits coming through to fill the gaps, there's not a lot that can be done. I don't like the doubling up rule and neither do most. But it's the best of a bad situation and the only way we'll be able to run two leagues.
  12. So how do we replace all these riders that double up/down? Whether we like it or not the rule is necessary, there simply isn't enough riders to go round. And the rules on to who they ride for are as fair as possible.
  13. Only riders you can drop to make a straight swap for Lanham is Kennett or Garrity. If you wanna drop Jason, he's more than welcome at Sheffield
  14. You've got 1.15 extra to play with. Would be your best option I'd say and would be available, can't see how Scunny can justify dropping any of their top 3 right now. This is arguably your best chance in years, i just hope the promition don't ruin it by holding on to Doolan really...
  15. I'm pretty sure Taylor place is safe at Sheffield. Would be pretty pointless dropping him after he picked up some good points at Peterborough and will be at reserve come next month.
  16. Updates available here (probably)- http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/13502/sheffield-edinburgh-lc-2014-45pm
  17. People can still watch the England v Uruguay game at Owlerton. We've got screens in the bar area.
  18. tickets available for £7 instead of the usual £15- http://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/newcastle/gl-newcastle-speedway/40199944
  19. And you really think Poole would do worse than Nielsen at reserve? dream on. Taylor has been in a much tougher postion than Nielsen all season and has been far better.
  20. I think he'll be the next to go if we're to make a change. It's alright being committed, being on good machinery and doing well for other teams. But it does us no favours if he's struggling around Owlerton. He's not shown enough from me, frankly he looks too scared to go wide half of the time and just coasts around. He pulled off one move last week against Jorgensen and then absolutely bottled it. We do need a change at the end of the day. And unfortunately for Nielsen, he's been our poorest performer by far.
  21. I think depedant on the scenario, then I'd welcome Hall back. Not his biggest fan by any means, if it was the start of the season I'd be absolutely against it. But we're mid season and around Owlerton we're not going to get a much better rider. Once the averages change i can defintely see Hall replacing Nielsen.
  22. Only clown by sounds of it is you! The overall presentation has been anything but amateur. These guys came very late into the season and had to build team on very little to work with. And in my opinion have built a good one under the circumstances! You absolutely come across childish by that post. They've walked in to running this club with very little luck, they only had half the time to work on the team as other clubs, they've forked out a good amount to pay for an air fence and we've had countless amounts of rain offs to contend with. And give me some riders you'd bring in to replace half the team then. If a bit of patience would be have, we can actually strengthen up our team considerably as we'd be able be able to replace Nielsen with a rider of near 6.50 once Ty Proctor gets a new average. That change alone makes the whole set up of that team look very different! As the old saying goes, Rome wasn't built in a day. I think we can consider ourselves quite lucky on the fact we do have owners that are clearly willing to spend and put some money back into the club.
  23. Well it mean we don't have to pay a loan fee, we have first say on where he rides before his elite or national league side and we get a loan fee if he double down or up. Means a fair bit actually.
