I think unless there's a massively talented youngster looking to come over, and judging by Ipswich signing up Kennett there just isn't, I'd rather us just stick by Anders. There's no point dropping him to bring in a rider like Kerr or Sedgy again.

Can't be Gilkesy- riders MA has to be the same or lower than the rider their guesting for- Gilkes is on 3.40, Killeen is 3.00. -
Scunthorpe 2026
spin king junior replied to Youhave2minutes's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Get the feeling the intention was always to sack Ingram- thought it was strange that all the squad had 2026 kevlars but Ingram was wearing Worrall kevlars from last season when the season started, but with way he's gone on there was no way scunthorpe could consider releasing him. Could just be me putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 though. -
Riss needs to retire at this point. Hes been suffering with this illness since 2023 and its looking increasingly unlikely that its going to get better. Needs to do himself, his opponents and club a favour and sadly admit defeat. The sports dangerous enough without a condition that seemingly effects his vision at random times.

On the 2026 rules and regs it states- "010.2.3 Amended MA’s With the approval of the BSP LTD GC or Directors for: - a) riders who have been absent from British Speedway racing for more than 3 seasons (the table in 10.2.2 will be used as a reference, the MA may be increased or decreased) b) riders who have been absent for more than 1 full season due to a speedway injury" Doesn't mention any amount of percentage of reduction- however, I'd read that as woffinden could apply for a reduction under the current rules.
-
No mention of a percentage- like a lot of things in speedway they'll just make it up as they go along!
-
Well on the 2025 rules and regs it says the following for average amendments- 010.2.3 Amended MA’s With the approval of the BSP LTD GC or Directors for: - d) riders who have been absent for more than 1 full season due to a speedway injury So from that, I'd suggest woffy is likely to get a higher deduction than the standard 2.5%. That being said, I'd say it's more than likely a mistake on the speedway gp site. I cant see woffy doing the gps and the UK, I fully suspect his focus will be elsewhere. And especially for Sheffield I can't see a side where we wouldn't include picko. I'd be very surprised if it's anything other than the 7 already touted.

They'll never learn... cannot understand for the life of me why anyone would sign Craig at this point. An absolute liability, completely unpredictable and has let down clubs year on year. Good luck Workington, I suspect at somepoint this season you'll need it once Craig disappears...
-
Can't see it personally. Made Owlerton his own last season, think at 2 he'll still prove to be a real trump card at home. On the road may be a different story.
-
Think that's more than likely the team we'll go with
-
I very much doubt we'll be without Pickering next season, especially with his comments regarding if there was 1 league he'd pick Sheffield over Scunny
-
I do sort of understand why some wouldn't be keen on Brennan - he hasn't exactly got a stellar record round owlerton. Other than that, I can't see why anyone wouldn't want to sign him. A rider that's improved year on year, a real professional and speaks well for himself and in what could be a weakened league I think could be a real asset as hes proved he can defintely hold his own at heatleader- given the opportunity I'd love to see him have a season at Sheffield, however I fully suspect he'll be back at Ipswich.
-
Glad to see we're all but confirmed to be starting the season- fully suspect the league will lose a lot of the big hitters from last season, and I think sadly that will include Jack, so will have to go strength in depth. Potentially being something like 1. Picko 7.76 2. Morris 5.89 3. C Holder 6.84 4. Rowe 5.22 5. Wright 6.11 6. Flint 5.06 Rs edwards or killeen

For a club like Ipswich to be put up for sale who hold a regular decent crowd and just won the league just shows no one is safe. If a club like Ipswich can't succeed then no one can and quite simply the days of top flight racing in Britain is done. You'd think/hope someone like Guy Nicholl will be in, I cant see him letting the club go under.

Sheffield - for sale
spin king junior replied to Cue Ball's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Oh get over yourself- the attitude of an handful of Ipswich fans on this form has been pathetic over last couple of years- constantly hounded about our track, fans and riders and giving a dig at every opportunity even when their teams aren't involved in it. Do I think most fans want to see Sheffield open? Absolutely. but with way the club has been lambasted by some i also feel there's some that would relish seeing the demise of the club i support. I'll leave it there. If people agree or disagree I don't care anymore. Outside speedway I'm a Wednesday fan so seeing both clubs you support potentially go to the wall is pretty draining.- 114 replies

Sheffield - for sale
spin king junior replied to Cue Ball's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hopefully someone can be found to buy the club- last thing thr sport needs is another well established clubs lost like so many others- although I'm sure there's a good amount of Ipswich fans that'd be glad to see us go under... -
Exactly what speedway needs. Some fresh young blood to bring the sport into the new age. Welcome aboard Arry, I'm sure you won't look lost amongst the crowd.

Initially coming in it did look a right old state but after all the work it looked good to me, but truly what do I know, I'm just some fat lad stood in stands who's only chucked his leg over a 125cc. I was that confident it was going to run I'd gone to grab a pint and whilst in the queue they made the call it was off. Do feel mostly for the visiting Ipswich fans which there was a good amount and can relate to how they feel- we went all to Birmingham many years ago and in very similar circumstances it absolutely chucked it down just before the meeting and got rained off its crap. Also feel for the track staff who you could see were working absolutely overtime to sort the track. For people who are ultimately volunteers they certainly did not shy away from putting in the effort. I think the riders could've given it a go personally. But we'll truly never know whether it was some being overly cautious or if the track wasn't rideable.
-
Moron. If you'd seen the effort of the track staff you'd have seen we wanted that meeting on. And what advantage does Sheffield have from not running it? Because I can tell you now having to hire out owlerton another night isn't cheap. According to picko over intercom the ref listened to both sets of riders, some were good to give it a go and others weren't. Because they couldn't come to an agreement they've called it off.

Sheffield Tigers 2025

Wouldn't make an awful lot of difference i reckon. We weren't going to win league with Sedgy and Kerr, we probably won't with Morris and Etheridge but at least the promotion have tried something -

I'd be surprised if we was looking to get rid of Kerr. Blown a bit hot and cold, but has put in some real match winning performances. I think only reason to get rid of him would be to accommodate a better riders to replace sedgy who definitely needs to be replaced at this stage. I think we'll struggle to get anyone new over at this stage. Think the likely ones will be one of Nagels, Mcdiarmid or Mountain to come in. -
