Berwick ‘buy a brick’ Bandits 2025
spin king junior replied to emilali's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Seems really odd they've persisted on with saying Cook will be representing the Bandits after everything that's been said over last 24 hour... Really poor from the club imo. -

Rough being a Berwick fan- first Rory and now cookie. Have an almost impossible task of finding someone on a similar average to Cook now, and unfortunately their options are very few and far between. Think MPT would be an awful option for Berwick. Appreciate beggars can't be choosers, but Tofts form round Shielfield is about as bad as it can get. -
I wouldn't say it's a fair comparison personally. There's a reason why Optus can offer more for less, they've got more people willing to pay an amount for a popular sport and will gain a lot more in sponsorship than BSN could ever wish to. Speedway is such a niche sport. You're not going to get anyone other than speedway fans willing to pay to watch a live stream and as a smaller venture BSN I'd doubt they'd have the pockets to operate at a loss. The fairest comparison in my eyes to speedway in the UK is ice hockey, although attedance wise ice hockey does tend to garner more interest in the top league, but much like speedway in this country it is a niche product- amongst every side in the EIHL they all offer live streams of their matches and you won't find a single team offering anything below £15 per match. So it lines up just about right imo and I think it's a fair price for what's on offer- ultimately if you bring down the cost by £2-3 it's not really enough to entice new customers. Bring it down by £5 and yes, I think you'd get a lot more viewers and people willing to buy in, but you'd also devalue the live expirence and would see a lot less people showing up for the meeting in person which actively needs to be avoided.

I'd argue at this point Berwick need to do what's best for them. You've got Hodder who let's be honest, there was plenty of times where he could've been dropped, but Berwick stayed loyal and kept him in the side, and for what? For him to jump ship to Glasgow the following year. And again, offered Ablitt a place and he's shot them down because it's too far to travel. I don't think Dayle is the best signing. But at the same loyalty goes a long way. If he can score above a two point average and show some commitment to the cause then it's a much better move for them than to have a rider to leave after a year. -

Schleih confirmed as out Berwick finish with Dayle wood, Sam Hagon and Peter Kildemand -
I prefer my 1-7 personally..... 😉

Well it was only a guess trying to put a team together based on these random flags they've thrown out there. I don't actually expect that to be the side.

There is some method behind the madness,i promise! Redcar have put out this post today- "Jamie’s happy, will you be when the full “Agilia” Bears 1-7 is announced tomorrow night at the ECCO Arena? 🇬🇧 🇩🇰 🇦🇺 🇳🇿 🇸🇪 🇩🇪 🇦🇹 🇵🇱 So many possibilities, but only 7 signings" 8 different flags- maybe a flag for each rider plus the team manager?

Oh get over yourself you miserable git

I don't know where you're getting a 4.5 average from. His last average was 6.57

Who we signing then?

Much like Sheffield this coming season, cracking top 5 but massively lacking at reserve. Don't really get the signing of Hodder, struggled to score over 3 bar one guest booking at the arse end of the season. Hopefully it's a case that both Perry and Hodder for the most part a season at Championship under their belt and can push on this season. But for me, feels like a mistake to have two riders that have averaged under 2 in the same team. Should make the play offs, but not a side I can see winning the league.

Sheffield Tigers 2025

Checked my bag all season and I was never stopped from bringing food or drink in and it's been something that's happened at all stadiums now. A pretty poor presumption from yourself. -

Think we'll be unlikely to see a change unless it was 2 out. Rowe average will immediately shoot up to over 5 after the first set of averages comes out, so any averages lost will immediately get taken up by that. Think we've just got to take the team as it is and hope the top four can take the lead. -

Well if it weren't Gilkes, Hume was always gonna be the best of the rest. Think we've left ourselves a bit too vulnerable at reserve, Hume was really poor last season in a weaker championship and at this point in his career I cant see him improving much. Hope he can prove us wrong but we'll see. Very interested to see what the situation is with Gilkes, shame as he really seemed well suited to Owlerton. -

Think Hume is now obvious choice. Will be interesting to hear what happened regarding Gilkes- seems to be either he's signed elsewhere, but it doesn't look like Oxford need to build weak at reserve or maybe he's had a change of heart with the sport, which i really hope isn't the case as he's a great talent. -

Somethings definitely happened with Dan. Creates us a massive problem with who we sign at 6 now. -

With Bowes riding in the Polish leagues, I think a Saturday track is out of the question. Can't see it being anything other than Jye and a 2 pointer to finish the side. -

Cook on his day is an excellent Championship rider. It's just maintaining him for a full season that is the problem. Hopefully he can get the Berwick fans on side with his performances on the shale and can have a more consistent season. I think especially with some of the top boys dropping the championship next season he could prove a good signing. -
Leicester Lions 2025

Can anyone explain why Cairns isn't being talked about signing for Leicester when he turns 16? I get it in the development league, Belle Vue is a good track to learn, but when it comes to the premier league hus first choice has surely got to be Leicester?
