Thank it'd be a massive mistake for Berwick to run with Ace. Unless the points limit gets dramatically reduced. Being realistic, Berwick won't be running with a top heavy side and if thongs stay the way they are then it runs the risk of Berwick going under the limit once again.

Ah fair does. It was a small minority of people just disappointing none the less. As for positive though, it was genuinely the best meeting I've seen all season. Got taken by a neutral so they appreciated a lot more than I did as my views were tampered by the result! Must say it was excellent at Belle Vue. The overall presentation was great, there was no hanging about and waiting, the racing was top notch and was just impressive to see the level of standard of a self sufficient track can be. It's the height of what every club should aim for even if its most likely unobtainable for most.

Doesn't justify what happened though does it? You can say it might happen everywhere but today it's happened at your track.

The small contingent of Belle Vues who cheered when Ellis came down should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. Scum.

There'll be about 5 clubs in the entire sport if you're trying to imply owlerton isn't fit for purpose anymore...

April 2019 against Newcastle was last time berwick won away from home.

Sad and completely feel for the Newcastle fans and the riders who now find themselves without a club. But its once again an amateur running a club and doing more damage to the sport and its reputation. Appreciate that beggars can't be choosers, but surely comes the time where there's some form of of test to determine whether these so called promoters are financially viable and have the know-how of running a speedway team?

Can't get behind that decision. Allen was awful when he showed up for Belle Vue and got soundly beat by Nielsen. Hope that I get proved wrong but I feel like it's a change just for the sake of it.

Just seen photos of the track and it's beyond shocking. God knows how it was allowed to get to that state to begin with and there surely has to be questions brought to Newcastle and also the referee.

A step in the right direction for the Brummies and hopefully more tracks follow in their footsteps as it should really be the bare minimum at every track.

Show me where I've said anything about wanting Birmingham to close. It's the absolute opposite and you're purely burying your head in the sand if you can't see the problems this could cause- not just for Birmingham, but the sport as a whole. My sticking point is that for all the goodwill and money the promotion put into Birmingham how on earth will it survive if its ripping off fans like this? No new fan will put up with it and the die hards will dwindle. We all need to be realistic and understand the average fan cannot be affording to lose money for nothing. With how often rain offs and crashes do occur in speedway, can we seriously not expect this to happen again? Bluntly, what has happened at Birmingham is a shambles and they need to do better. If Birmingham need a blue print of how to run a speedway team they need look no further than their opponents for this meeting. Berwick like Birmingham was once a club in trouble but their new promotion have worked theirs socks off on and off the track and not done it by cutting corners. And whilst they might not be the most cash rich side or field the best 1-7 in the league you can say with their involvement with the fans with the 5-1 draw, the dirt xtra and genuine effort to bring value to money to their fans in the double headers that they've thought outside the box and been rewarded with an incredibly loyal fan base.

Just bullet pointing roughly what was said- Started off wishing all the best for Auty. Said a meeting being abandoned after 2 races for a straight forward crash is unacceptable. He's sick of turning up at tracks and finding them operating with the bare minimum of medical cover. Believes that the authorities should step in and insist on having two paramedics and ambulances before a meeting should start. Understands that medical cover doesn't come cheap but should be the first item on each clubs budget at the start of the season.

And I'll not be told by some brown nose where I can and can't make a comment. You can come up with every excuse under the sun, but charging anyone £10 for 2 races isn't acceptable and its only going to do one thing which is push more people away from the sport. It might be some absolute braindead BSPA rule but it seems ridiculous to actually enforce it and I'll say now if Sheffield were to do the same I'd be voting with my wallet.

If this is the way the Birmingham promotion want to run then they've got absolutely no place in the sport. The absolute cheek to charge fans £10 for 2 races. When promotions run like this doing the absolute bare minimum and then genuinely rip off fans they don't just damage their own club, they damage the sports image and reputation or what little it has left. I fully understand that "beggars can't be choosers" but there must be some sort of standard set for promotions looking to run? Because regardless if this consortium "saved" Birmingham speedway with these sort of practices they won't last more than 5 minutes. Laurence Rogers in particular should be absolutely ashamed of himself. He's not a newbie, he knows how the sports run and knows how vital it is to keep fans loyal. Unfortunately I think this will turn anyone with any sense away...

You've got absolutely nothing to apologise for. At the time it was a rumour and not one that was of knowledge to everyone. Sadly the rumour has been proved true and we've sadly lost one of the sports biggest supporters.

There's a rumour, and until its annouced by an official that's all it is, that Nigel Pearson has passed away. And from what I can tell its all stemmed from a twitter post. So personally, I am waiting till there's official words.
