  1. I can't. I'm still hobbling about on crutches 3 months after breaking my hip.
  2. He just likes to stir things up a bit to get a response does Steve. You should know that by now.
  3. Now that surprises me that you can be hit by shale between the two stands as they are on the straight. I have to go on the 4th bend with the dog but try to be a bit further round towards the starting gate to avoid any flying shale on the bend, I'm too old now to be dodging shale and missing half of the action hiding behind my programme board.
  4. Good question. I should think each promotion will stick with their own prices, which last season were completely different ~ no concessions at Coventry but cheap or free for children under 16. That idea upset a lot of the over 65's and I can't say I noticed any increase in the amount of children there so will they forget this idea now to encourage the older people to travel? After all it is them that have probably retired and more able to make the journey to Leicester in time.
  5. Mrcts apparently but he's blown his cover now so removed the remark. Groby Pool, Aylestone Meadows Canal Street Car Park, Leicester. You too can see small penis's if you care to look. Are you going then Rob?
  6. Who says they are? Just because one fan suggested it doesn't mean he's correct. There are workmen at Swindon allegedly but bugger all is being done so I don't think that idea will work. And me. After 32 years of driving down the M69 to support the Bees I'll only have a few miles to go now. I don't remember posting repeatedly like your quotes ~ only the once ~ but to reply I'd just say that it's an easy left turn onto the M1 North so no great problem. Of course if there were traffic lights on the roundabout it would be better still and would really please SCB who is a big fan of them.
  7. Me too and supporting both teams, although it might be a bit difficult to decide which scarf to wear when they meet each other.
  8. Why am I not surprised that you know that.
  9. Here comes the paranoia again. CB252 is right ~ check all the posts. No-one said it wouldn't happen because it was always a possibility but many of us thought it was a crap idea.
  10. Why no home track advantage? It's not as if Leicester is new and the riders have never been there. All have ridden at Beaumont Park multiple times but whether they like the track or not is another question. Seeing that list all I can think of is not bloody Poole again early in the season as we normally lose. It never is unless some stupid lorry driver decides to cause mayhem.
  11. I hope you're not going to stir all this up again. It happened over 30 years ago and nothing at all to do with any promotions at Coventry since then but Midland Sports Stadiums, of which Charles Ochiltree was only ONE member.
  12. I've only ever heard about these on here and never used them myself. As we used to spend the afternoon climbing up to the top of the White Horse Hill with the dogs I don't think even my bladder could last all evening as well so presumably there must be another set of toilets somewhere at Blunsdon. Not been for years sadly since dogs were banned, even in the car park. Presumably Orange Juice?
  13. I wouldn't say Leicester have been used as they have had a lot of their own problems to sort out after David was booted out. They need riders so it's understandable they would wait to see if any were released from the Coventry team. Lack of respect to the fans though ~ yes ~ and you can include Coventry and Belle Vue in that too but as fans we should be used to that now. Contracts can always be ended though can't they? If I was Sky I don't think I would bother either with up to 3 teams still up in the air.
  14. No interval at the Coventry Storm matches either. Presumably the same track staff as the Bees so they must have been standing there with their legs crossed for most of the night.
  15. Well Lions need some riders so where else are they going to come from? I'm a Leicester fan too and my strength of feeling is zero about using some of the Coventry riders. I couldn't care less really as the riders I wouldn't be keen on have all gone elsewhere thank goodness. Coventry would be finished so none of the Bees fans would be expected to support a team called Leicester. It would just be the case of probably using a few of their riders. This happens all the time with riders switching clubs during the close season. The biggest worry would be having Mick Horton as a promoter so start praying that doesn't happen.
  16. Well tough ~ you should join. I'll be your friend to start you off. This was discussed on the Coventry Bees site on Facebook.
  17. Ah....didn't know that as I'm not into statistics. What about Lewis Kerr then?
  18. Well if they got on with the meeting the staff wouldn't need a loo break or a drink. I travel from Leicester to Coventry, watch the match and 2nd half if there is one then drive back again all without any urgent need to visit the loo.
  19. I very much doubt if that would ever happen. Just another silly rumour.
  20. You're joking! Fans are the least concern and best kept in the dark about anything they're planning on doing. Anyway, it's been discussed on Facebook and I would say perhaps 10% of Bees fans would still get their Speedway fix at Leicester. Others plan on going to either Birmingham or Wolves and some giving up altogether.
  21. I don't think Leicester fans would walk away as they have no team at all at the moment unless I've missed a signing. They'd soon get used to the new riders and after a few matches it would be 'their' team. I'm sure one season, although I can't remember which one, Coventry had a completely different 1-7 and how things are in Speedway it's rare for many riders to continue with the same club they were with the previous year. Having Mick Horton as promoter might be the fly in the ointment though. Good luck with that.
  22. What's wrong with you? You can always look at the tractors going round and round.
  23. Ah well we're trying to lose that image. Too many old people around with their fold up chairs, flasks of tea and sandwiches. Speedway has plans to be more vibrant with up to date music from the current top 40, flashing lights, 20 year old wannabe D.J. mingling with the crowd, but don't mention Aunt Vera's Golden Wedding Anniversary or you'll get cut off mid sentence. And why not as nothing is happening in Poole apart from the tide going in and out. I've actually found this close season on the forum more interesting than usual. Long may the Coventry saga drag on.......and on.......and on. Helps to pass the time away.
  24. Yes, I wonder how far the police investigation has got. It's a pity the local newspaper can't delve into that instead of printing inaccurate stories.
